Today's Tids Issue 5438
Grey on Grey:
Life is really full of surprises. It's really all about how you deal with them, isn't it?
I’m no expert but I'm thinking we have a pretty fragile stock market. Of the S&P 500, four hundred and ninety are down and the mighty tech stocks are up enormously. The up stocks are up about dreams for tomorrow, the downs are probably down about the reality of business today.
“The pessimist complains about the wind. The optimist expects it to change. The realist adjusts his sails.”
The Question:
What was the name of the island where Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan expected to refuel before they disappeared from sight.

On the NBC nightly news last night, they had an intriguing item on the possible discovery of Amelia Earhart's plane. Not once did they mention that Fred Noonan was also on that plane with her. Media too often gets lost in celebrity and forgets the whole picture.
Have had some good responses from the Q a few days ago on “Foodie” movies where you change one-word lige, “Lord of the Ring Dings. Got two good ones late last night, “Prawn with the Wind” and “Singing in the Grain”. Earlier in the day I got a big bunch -- "A Starfruit is born", "Brokeback Mountain Dew", "Erin Broccolivich", "Good Dill Hunting", "Brave Tarte". "Forrest Gumball", "Bread Man Walking", "Beauty and the Yeast", "Corn of the Fourth of July", "Murder on the Orient Espresso". Others are Grey Sole's Anatomy and the first reader answer to that Q, “I just wanna have Rum”. Thanks everybody. Keep Ideas coming if you got em.
I am continually surprised that so many people my age are old.
Any President who says he or she is the responsible for the power of the stock market is delusional.
Did the devil smile and rejoice this past weekend when Sinner was a winner at the Australian Open? Jannik Sinner has been knocking on the door for a year now, he got his first major with an amazing comeback win over Medvedev.
I would definitely get rid of the US Departmet of Education. It tends to confuse the good people at the local level. And scare the crap out of responsible parents.
Things we taken for Granted, Department:
I’ve been watching workers put a new slate roof on a home of a neighbor, The pitch of the roof is 63 degrees. These guys seem oblivious to the steepness and just move effortlessly around with ropes, like some daring mountain climber all dressed up for an adventure who will get airtime on TV special. But these guys are just doing their job. And quite well, it appears to me.
“Last night the internet stopped working so I spent a few hours with my family. They seem like good people.”
A consensus of observers are saying that it is most likely the size of the $83 Mill Award to Jean Carrol was mainly because Trump's behavior in the courtroom was annoying. Translated: The Jury didn’t like him.
The Media really gets caught up in a lot “news that means nothing to me. A lot of news that airs is based on the fact that there is good video readily available.
I’ll get bakc to my Year-by-year events section, but lately my days have been surprisingly crowded. Yes, but with more than naps.
The Answer:
There have been many “Aha” moments over 86 years since the plane went down in the vicinity of Howland Island where they were expected to land for refueling. for over 86 years so far, all were false leads. Maybe this is the one. The plane shape was seen in16,000 feel of water by the computerized eyes of an undersea drone.
It is said that if you live by the ocean, you should always find a sea gull to follow. I think it is a pretty good idea. I love seagulls and stone walls and weather-beaten pilings by greying docks.
Look around you. I hope you find Something special today.
