Aghast.

Today's Tids Issue 5,976

Caught up in the fever:

There are so many directions the world could take us this morning. And too many of them are disturbing. A lot of people now a days can justify just about anything but often lost in the the justifications is truth, ethics and intent of rules being manipulated. So, I will just look for happier things if that is at all possible in the current spiraling scenarios?

Their first daughter was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Now they’re hoping for triplets so they can have a whole set.

Yesterday Trump warned Repubs that if they don’t regain Congress he will be impeached. Does he know something more about what he has been doing than we do?

The Question:

What is the all-time best selling Girls Scout Cookie? What are the top selling cookies now.

The Headlines:

--Markets Flat as They Reconsider Venezuela Actions and Await Deep Look at Government Jobs Data Friday Following Miss in ADP Jobs Today; CES Pronouncements also in Eyes of Investors as they Look for Clues about AI Going Forward.

--US Stops Russian flagged Oil Tankers in Caribbean and Atlantic; Russia Had Deployed Submarine and Surface Vessel for Safe Escort; Tensions with Putin Heighten.

--Warner Brothers Increases Warnings about Taking Paramount Offer.

--Military Not Off the Table as Trump Continues to Harp on taking over Greenland.

Hey! It isn't all bad out there, because it's... it’s... Girl Scout Cookie season. They have added a new delectable treat called Exploremores" and it is based on “Rocky Road Ice Cream”! Ladies and gentlemen, start your salivary glands.

The Internet keeps on trying to push me into watching videos. But I prefer reading.

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting closed its doors yesterday. You know those people, they gave us Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers and much more to stretch our imaginations. And they funded 1,500 PBS radio and TV operations. It is sad when elements of creativity are wiped off the face of the earth. Yeah, I know, conservatives are supposed to hate public broadcasting. But thoughtless Government interference is more distasteful to me.

Have you reviewed the “Monroe Doctrine” lately? In summery: “Monroe Doctrine, (December 2, 1823), cornerstone of US Foreign Policy enunciated by Pres. James Monroe in his annual message to Congress. Declaring that the Old World and New World had different systems and must remain distinct spheres, Monroe made four basic points: (1) the United States would not interfere in the internal affairs of or the wars between European powers; (2) the United States recognized and would not interfere with existing colonies and dependencies in the Western Hemisphere; (3) the Western Hemisphere was closed to future colonization; and (4) any attempt by a European power to oppress or control any nation in the Western Hemisphere would be viewed as a hostile act against the United States.”

There’s always a way to work with other sides. But then, I'm naive about a lot of things.

National sports writers seem to be entirely in love with the LA rams and I just don't get it.

A California company just bought a golf course in Massachusetts just over the RI border. They paid $24 Million and will turn it into a solar panel farm. How dreadful. Solar panels over lush, rolling green hilIs. I wonder how many golf balls they will find when they start clearing the land and memories of victories and frustration.

To me, solar panel development is sad around here. I have always marveled how well RI with an infinitesimal amount of land has managed to preserve forests and open spaces. Now fast buck opportunists are devouring forests where little bunnies procreate to build panel farms, the most inefficient use of land ever conceived by mankind

My mother was so surprised when I told her I was born again. She said she didn’t feel a thing!

One of my favorite taste-treats is salmon with hollandaise sauce and nice fluffy rice. That is almost as good and sinful as fresh broiled blue fish smothered with Bearnaise sauce.

The Answer:

The Thin Mint has been the leader for decades. Today the top five are Thin Mints, Samoa's -Caramel Delites, Tagalongs, Lemonades and Caramel Chocolate Chip.

You’ll always stay young if you live honestly, eat slowly, sleep sufficiently, work industriously, worship faithfully and lie about your age.

It is the 35th anniversary of Peter Frampton Live – the all-time greatest live performance Album—8 billion Copies.
