Always a crossroad.

Today's Tids Issue 5,975

Sovereignty is sacred:

Pondering NVidia is the new sport in favor on Wall Street. The company has lost $460 billion in market value in the last few months. Competitors like AMD and even their best customers like Amazon and Alphabet continue to grow into a bigger revenue threat. And a big concern is the Nvidia reinvestments in many customer that is seen as artificially propping up demand. Yes, the cloud hovers, but the promise of enormous payouts still drives tis market with its apparent bottomless pits of money.

The musician could only play Brandenburg concertos and fugues. The conductor asked him to learn how to think out of the Bachs. Thanks to comic Frank and Earnie for waking up our funny bones to a humerus morning.

To all those people born on January, the warmth in your hearts will make us forget the cold.

One of the hot careers for the past several years has centered around data collection refinement and associated creative applications. Now we have to protect people from all that creativity. The growing career path now is cyber security. Who says AI eliminates jobs.

Today is National Cuddle up day! How great is that!

The Question:

Today is also National Shortbread Day, one of my favorite foods. What are the basic ingredients of short bread?

The Headlines:

--Stocks Look Strong; Bankers Happy.

--Columbia May Be Next in Trump’s Sights; European Allies Firmly Back Denmark as Trump Utters Greenland Again.

--Maduro VP Calls for Cooperation with US

--NVidia Announces next Generation Chip Vera Rubin at CES Gathering Yesterday.

--Today Marks Fifth Anniversary yo Day Americans Attacceter Capitalof United States of America.

--Trump Deplots 2000 Fed Agents to Minn in Apparent Escalation of Immigrations Activities; Somali Community on Edge.

--Cal GOP Rep Doug Lamalfa Dies at 65; 7 Term Congressman Died Surprisingly io Apparent Heart Attack.

You all by now have probably read or heard the inaugural words of new NYC mayor Mamdani: “We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism”. Now I hear remarks from his director of Tenant Protection, Cea Weaver, advocating: Transitioning property from an individual good to a collective good.” And she added Whites will especially be impacted.” Let's see, AOC chased out Amazon, and these two could chase out every other productive entity.

Hey. We have another new reader. Now the pressure builds to perform. It’s always good to have pressure.

Pickles Deli was better before they started advertisingOr are they advertising more because theyaren’t as good as they were?

RI fishermen might just be taking their boasts out of storage. A Japanese sushi restaurant company just paid $3.2 Millon for a 545-pound Blue Fin Tuna. We gottem’ here.

Nobody knew about teh surprise attack on Venezuela and the capture of Madura and Wife, right?... except the gamblers. Yes, one Guy made $436,000 on a $32K bet predicting the capture timing. The real curiosity is over this Crypto Betting service Polymarket where wagers on this elimination of Maduro started surging just hours before the attack. Very odd for a Pentagon with no leaks.

The Ukraine peace initiative has fallen off the radar. Tat may be because all the journalists rushed to Venezuela, and chief negotiator Rubio had other things to do. BTW, the journalists probably wish they had satyed in Ukraine. 19 were arrested in Moduro country yesterday.

A reader asked me if I did food reviews. I said only if the restaurants specialize in salty cheese sancks and rich, creamy chicken gravy.

The Answer:

Short bread cookies look simple, using just three basic ingredients – butter, sugar and flour, but there is a delicate art that produces the best. All-purpose flour is fine. And salt is also a key ingredient to liven up the cookie if you don't use salted butter. Most experts say use unsalted butter and add salt to taste later.  Butter is king, or queen. Fattier European butter is even better if you have it. A good scotch baker uses granulated sugar over Powdered sugar. Some say a little Vanilla is good, but not the purists. You bake tea 350 until they look toastier, a little brown edging beyond white.

That's about it, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!! See you tomorrow and it will flow better,
