This isn’t us

.

Today's Tids Issue 5,979

Where's the revival:

Life has become far more hectic than it needs to be considering all the resources at our fingertips. Maybe it is allof the resources that are getting in the way.

I rarely go to a movie simply because of some star’s name on the marquis/ But one that does make think twice about missing something is Hugh Grant. Maybe it;s him or maybe he just chooses good scripts.

Is it me or does the world seem more confused and conflicted than ever before.

Two muffins were sitting in an oven. One turned to the other and said, “Wow, it’s pretty hot in here.” The other one shouted, “Wow, a talking muffin!”

The Question:

What are the ten most influential Comic strips of all time?

The Headlines:

--Markets Edgy after CPI Data comes in Slightly Higher Year to Year and Month to Month; JPM Missies, but it's a Good Miss; Dimon Warns Not to Overlook Effects of Geopolitical Confusion.

--Economists, Treasurers, Bankers; Repubs and Dems; all Jump in to Support Jerome Powell and the Independence of the Fed.

Hey! Scott Adams died. As you may know he was the creator of the wonderful Dilbert comic stip. He was ostracized by something he said on You Tube, but that will never negate the quality of his Dilbert series. He was always one of my go to spots for relevant humor. He was 68 and Cancer got him.

I watch these protests across the country. If it is about remembering the slain Mrs. Good then it is a good thing. But if it is about forgetting the calamitous consequences of a rampant illegal immigration flood, then it is misconstrued. I think that regardless of feelings about the situation, Americans have always felt their country represented a humane society genuinely caring and giving, wanting to be a positive moral influence on the rest of the world. But the ICE troops on the streets look more like the forces of a belligerent dictator than the face of an America that has always filled us with pride.

The large debt of the great Dallas department Storee Nieman Marcus has one of their brands Saks 5th Avenue shuttering stores. Macys closed Fifteen more stores two days ago. People still love the sport of shopping, well some people do, but it is where they order is what countsRetail outlets have been in decline for a while now, and there is a lot more pain to come.

Companies continually try to find ways to manufacture goods more efficiently to reduce costs of goods, while delivery costs take over peoples wallets.

Greenland just said it should be protected by Nato from the United States. Do you want me to repeat that? Did you ever think you would read anything like that?

The Answer:

Number Ten is Dilbert by Scott Admas, Next is Garfield by Jim Davis. Bloom County is eight. I miss that one. Also Missed is Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Waterson. But every morning the first one I read is Blonde. Yes, that still going strong.  5, 4 and 2 are some old goodies who set the stage for many that came: Krazy Kat, Walt Kelley’s Pogo and Al Capp’s Lil’ Abner. Number 3 is The Far Side. Of course, you must know what is number one... Peanuts! It makes me chuckle every day. Other notables in the most popular categories are For Better for Worse by Lynn Johnson. Beetle Baily by Mort Walker, Doonesbury by Gary Trudeau and Hagar the Horrible by Dik Browne. Zits must be climbing up the ladder. The Originators of Blonde, Krazy Kat and Bloom County were Chick Young, George Herriman and Berkley Breathed. Of new strips, Im curretly enjoying Pearls before Swine.

i would have been done earlier, but I’ve been reading Dilbert strips. You may feel my smiles.
