The cross between a Patriot and a curly haired dog is a -- Yankee Poodle.

Are you ready for the AmeriTids!!

I think Biden underscored the difference between Dems (And Repubs too) of today and yesterday when he defended himself last night against an accusation by Harris about his denial of busing. He said that he wasn’t against busing, but just Federal government ordered busing. Today one of the biggest threats sensible Americans face is the apparent media supported movement towards Feds in control of everything. You have to wonder if any of the younger candidates on the stage understood what Joe was saying about the importance of supporting state’s rights as core to the American philosophy. Of course, the left sided candidates don’t want to understand.

One of the most significant SC judgements of late was yesterday when the Justices sent the gerrymandering squabble back to the states where it, and so many other disputes, belong.

Putin said yesterday: “Liberal ideals are destabilizing.” He should know.

When you cross a Founding Father with a famous monster you get Ben Franklinstein.

Ben Franklin said, “God helps those who help themselves.”. Hmm. How would that go over today as a campaign slogan.

The Question:

I had to put the Dem2 debate below the fold tis morning as it was more harangue about a lot of stuff that I don’t consider America. One being their unanimous support for health care for all illegals as “their top election priority”. I know that kindness sis surely American, but lunacy is not. Kamala Harris is aggressive and she fulfilled her persona last night by trying to beat upon on Joe with the high hope of cutting into his big lead among black voters. She probably did, and Dem reviewers are saying she looked most presidential and confident. Bernie’s schtick is getting old. Just another old leftist who doesn’t have it now that he is a front runner and can’t snipe. Michel Bennet emerged and looked good doing it, but he so far back that he may have to wait four more years. After two debates, it is probably Biden, Harris, Warren, Buttegieg and Bernie. And, Bennet going into the stretch. The rest are playing for VP?

How come there are no “knock, knock” jokes about America? Because…Freedom rings.

The Wall Street consensus about best hope from Xi/Trump meeting is at least a postponement of new tariffs

News reporters are now calling the new pop-phenomena the “Meatless meat craze”. I call meatless meat, crazy.

You probably know that Ben Franklin said, “Haste makes Waste’, “Time is Money” and “A Penny Saved is a Penny Earner”. He said “There never was a good war or a bad peace”. But he also said “Genius without education is like silver in a mine.”

One of the biggest ongoing scams across America is the selling of bogus tickets for big, highly publicized events. If ticket buying on the web looks too good to be true, you should probably avoid it. I have become entirely jaundiced about anything remotely suspect that pops up in email or other intrusive communication medium.

The for just buried investigative reporter Jim Taricani is, “Telling the truth will never hurt you.” Unfortunately, it seems to me that not enough people know enough facts to determine what is the truth.

Yes, Father, I did cut down the cherry tree.

Some companies are promoting meat free pizzas. I’d rather have free meat pizzas.

Did you notice that last night the NBC inquisitors asked questions mainly about liberal ideologies?

King George thought the colonists were revolting.

In addition to all of the practical reasons for not election left winger to the Presidency, I am particularly concerned about having to endure being lectured to for four years.

There’s lots to do in New York City, if you can afford it.

The five cheapest places for natural gas energy are North Dakota, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Illinois, New Mexico and Wisconsin. Your wallet takes a hit if you live in Hawaii (Out of sight)… Florida (Almost off the charts), Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Alabama, Connecticut, California and Colorado.

About the only things left in beautiful New England are History, Scenery and Liberals.

Reading Between the Lines Movie Reviews:
--“Yesterday” is a romantic comedy, musical fantasy about a guy with dreams of fame, who after a global blackout realizes that nobody has ever heard of the Beatles. This fine lad, a musician living on the English coast, strums a melody on his guitar and the the people respond to the genius of his composition. It is of course “Yesterday”. A woman agent sees it and guides hm through a career. I think this will be good and I’d go, but you may have to suspend reality to enjoy it. I do the often.
--Annabelle is the latest in the Conjuring series. It is scary and eerie and all of that, but perhaps not as good as some of the other’s you may have enjoyed.
--This Hamlet tale focusses on Ophelia, the lovely Lady-in-waiting, also in love with the dashing Prince. She is caught between her desires and her loyalty to the preservation of the Royalty. I think I would go to this one too. (But now we’re talking about the cost of two tickets and two bags of popcorn.)
-- Euphoria is about two sisters meting up again and taking a journey together. It looks tedious and not worth the time.

The Answer:
What comes to my mind first is Kathy Bates as Annie Wilkes in Misery! Scary! After that, the folks vote for Fried Green Tomatoes, Deloris Claiborne, Titanic, The Blind Side ,A Home of Our Own, The Waterboy, My Sister’s Keeper, The Family that Preys and Charlottes Web. Bonus: Gerald Ford (After Nixon) was the last never-elected President. Previously we had Chester A, Arthur (Garfield Assassinated), Andrew Johnson (Lincoln Assassinated), Millard Fillmore (Zachary Taylor Death in Office) and John Tyler (William Henry Harrison pneumonia death after one month). Extra Bonus: Bill Clinton was the Prez who established a legal defense fund, although it seems Chester Arthur and Warren Harding could have done the same.

None of the Dem candidates during the past two days talked about impeachment. I guess they feel they can do it the old-fashioned way – win an election. That is the American way, by the way.

The question remains, will all of those independents go socialist or American. Therein lies the election.

Franklin also said, “Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do.” Hey!

Have a great Weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y

Moderation, please:

The questioners on the first night of the mega debates seemed to favor Elizabeth Warren, giving her more air time than warrented, and she screeched away until the wax fell out of my ears. Julian Castro may have made the most points, emerging as a distinct, real possibility. Tulsi Gabbard, Amy Klobuchar and Tim Ryan also stepped forward, sounding like the most sensible in the room. Beto bombed. DeBlasio was a rude boor, and should drink more mega sized sugary drinks to make him sweeter. But, I’m not a Dem so my opinions should be taken for what they are, a Repub talking. A lot of the post talk chatter was about a technical glitch that turned off mikes. A pleasant pause for many. One issue that stood out to me was the general agreement of the debaters for decriminalization of illegal entry. Borders without rules – good, if you like chaos.

But a Repub talking about Dems can also be the old forest for the tree’s thing. Insiders in business, government and politics are so ingrained in their organizations and institutions that they routinely fail to see their faults and miss opportunities. For instance, Biden is ahead because he connects with old fashioned, hardworking Democrats. Now, if I’m one of the 20, I’m thinking do I want to be another in the crowd of progressive Dems going after the coastal elites, or become a Democrat centrist and get me a big chunk of the largest reservoir of voters.

Some of those aggressive “new world” policies that took root in the 1980’s have grown like Kudzu, encroaching upon clear thinking in the 2010’a. For example, one of them that stabbed me to the core is “Manners is a device of White Supremacists.” Incredulous, but believed by many.

At the cafeteria in a famous NYC art museum, employees are trained in the Gugenheimelich maneuver.’’

I used to think that it was nice to see so many people meditating on the street, perhaps saying a little silent prayer. Then I saw their thumbs moving rapidly and realized they were scrolling thought their phones.

Potato salad varieties adorn the buffet tables of many a summer picnic. But, there are other educable ways to get your potato fix alongside a real meat, juicy burger. Here’s a couple of ideas you can do on the grill. Potatoes 1: Cut 2 lbs of “YG” potatoes into ¼ inch rounds. Preheat grill to 375. Cut 4 14” sheets of foil. In a bowl toss the pots with 1 tbs OO, 1 tbs minced Rosemary and pinches of salt and pepper. Spray foil with oil. Mound the Pot mixture on each sheet. Top each with a generous slice of prosciutto and top with an oz of goat cheese. Wrap foils securely into packages. Place on grill and cook for 35 Mins or so, truing every 10 mins. Potatoes 2: Spread 2 tbs of OO on cookie sheet. Lay in ¼” sliced s of potatoes. Sprinkle on 2 tsp oregano, 1 tsp salt, 2 tsp pepper, 1 tsp parsley, ½ cp chopped basil and 1/8 cp grated Parmesan cheese. Bake pots 10-15 mins in 400 degree preheated oven. Turn oven to convection to brown pots. Sprinkle 1/8 cp parm on hot potatoes. Simple. But it’s not potato salad.

In Providence Rhode Island, a Johns Hopkins University team just issued a scathing report about the city schools, making them perhaps the worst in the nation. They mentioned bad teachers, bad admin, unruly and bullying kids, scared classmates, and scared teachers. But they didn’t mention the education union dominated state legislature that has stifled reform for decades, or the decline in moral standards, or in fact any high achieving standards at all. The Mayor said this morning that we can’t blame he students who have tough lives at home with only one parent, normally a mother. Now, there’s a start. Responsibility. Now with political promises of getting everything for free, there won’t be any incentives. Basically, the report laid out a problem but seemed not courageous enough to point to the real problems.

And that just isn’t happening here in the USSRI.

Disgruntled kids on sports teams or in class rooms (Or, the parents) are having their say, and ruining reputations at the same time. It’s the old accusation game, where a teacher or a coach or an administrator’s reputations is blackened, forever to be found on social media, before all of the evidence is in. It is a sad, sad result of mass digital communications. We are in an era of a revenge society with little regard given to the possibility of reasonable explanations from the other side. One kids greatest coach is another kids bully.

And, BTW, thanks for all of the readers who continually send in delightful and inspiring little ditties that stimulate this confounded mind.

The Key to finding winners and losers in the debates is determining which candidates are answering with focus group approved responses, and which are talking from the heart.

I think we are in trouble when masses of protestors can tell  a company what it can and what it cannot sell.

Mice die in mouse traps because they don’t understand why the cheese is free.

The Answer:
“All Time” does not just mean today, and celebrity does not just mean Glitterville. First is Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin. Next is Coca Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli, Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, Olivia De Haviland and Joan Fontaine, Debbie Reynolds and Elizabet Taylor, Mohammed Ali and Joe Frazier, Michael Jackson and Prince, Diana and Charles of Wales, Leno and Letterman, Axl Rose and Slash, Biggie Smalls and Tupac, Madonna and Courtney Love. Kobe and Shaque. Some others are JLO and Mariah Carey, Tom Cruise and Brook Shields, The Donald and  Rosie (Trump and anybody?), Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner, Gwyneth Paltrow and Martha Stewart and Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.q
Fortunately, I have plenty to do tonight, and will miss the socialist and the plagiarist. Speaking of feuds.
