Time Travel

Today's Tids Issue 5,420

Follow the Light:

I'm often tempted to sign up for my local gas station awards program. Each time I see that changing price reflecting the “Members’ Only” Cost advantage. Then I look at the application form and see they are really looking for my life’s data for a 10 cent/gallon reduction. Now conservatively if I drive 10,000 miles a year (Which I don’t} at 20 miles per gallon, that’s 500 gallons or a yearly cost savings of $50. They want me to give away my privacy and life's most sacred ID connection for $4.17 a month. I don’t think it is worth it.

Jeez... the next time I write this mess it will be May. May! Wasn’t it just yesterday when I was an April fool. Time condenses in life with age like it expands in the universe.

Memorial Day weekend will be a good example of Einstein’s Theory of relativity. Time gets longer the more you spend it with relatives.

Einstein may have been right. The older you get the faster and easier it becomes to go back in time. And it is always amazing how vid the details of then are in your mind.

The Question:

What are the top all time Broadway plays with the most consecutives performances?

The Headlines:

Markets Higher at Midmorning; FDIC, US Treasury and Fed Working Together to Save First Republic as Private Sources Struggle to Find Solution.

--Abortion Bans Fail In Conservative South Carolina and Nebraska.

--Russia Launches Barrage of Missiles Across Ukraine in Advance of Ukraine Southern Counter Assault

AI is very clever but think of all the personal data that has been sent into the big data reservoirs in the sky to feed the insatiable appetite for more and more data so AI can perform optimum and help you do a little easier some things you pretty much are capable of doing yourself.

Astronomer #1: .....so anyway the cop pulls me over and asks if I realized that I had just run a redlight. So, I said that I did not see the light as being red, because it must have blue-shifted as i was approaching it. Astronomer #2: And he let you go?
Astronomer #1: No. He gave me a speeding ticket instead.

I'm trying a little relativity humor today. So far it doesn’t relate to my brain’s ability ot understand it.

Celebrities seem to be liking the new Netflix series The Diplomat, So, now I’m wondering, what is wrong with it. it’s not bad.

AI is going Hollywood, they are saying. And what I am hearing is that we will surely have even more sensational special effects than ever. Hmmmm. Do we really need more special effects. I'm for scripts that make sense. Yes, Hollywood will have newe speceial effects because they can do it, not because they need it.

Does anything interrupt the tenseness or the poignance in a decent movie than overlong car chase or gun fight, or, yes, sex scene. The tension and romance in the best movies is best experienced by the imagination viewer.

That's my theory relative to movie making and I believe it will stand the test of time.

The son of a good friend is a very bright technology, computer, early adopter kind of guy and an absolute Tesla car freak. A week or so ago the son decided to drive to South Padre Island to watch the Rocket shot. He put his Tesla on Auto Pilot and in thirty-three hours he was there. The car did it all. I asked about charging. No problem. The car maps out that too, knows where all charging stations are, and it optimizes charging time by knowing where each succeeding station is. It went smooth as silk says, with quite minimal personal driving, says my friend. Pretty cool stuff going on. I’m still not ready to have a car drive me.

Einstein's Theory of Relativity: If you loan money ot relatives you may never see it again.

Maybe as we age we all become children of our earliest days.

The failure of the SVB was human error. That is good to know in a fragile economy... unless all managers are like those at the failed bank. And maybe there is a more insidious national threadBecause the management failure in the new post-investigation report not only refers to the banks structure but also the Fed management charged with oversight. Yes, the SVB officials were rash and let it get away from them, but the Fed should have seen it coming. That’s scary part.

Over time, I have learned to be skeptical of anything that appears to be too good to be true.

People who fail to follow the theory of relativity don’t understand the gravity of the situation.

The Answer:

Ok. Number one is Phantom. Next is Chicago followed by Lion King, Wicked, Cats, Les Miz, Chorus Line, Oh Calcutta, Mama Mia and #10, Beauty and the Beast. The next bunch are Rent, Jersey Boys, The Book of Norman, Miss Saigon, 42nd Street, Grease, Fiddler on the Roof, Life with Father, Tobacco Road, Alladin, Hello Dolly, My Fair Lady, Hairspray, Mary Poppins and Hamilton. The big powerhouse Rogers and Hammerstein musicals Oklahoma, South Pacific, Sound of Music, King and I and Carousel are at 35, 38, 68, 84 and not in the top 130. Some other super popular shows with memorable music like Guys and Dolls, Music Man, Pajama Game, Damn Yankees and Annnie Get Your Gun are way down in the 90’s and lower.

As you can see, I didn’t have a helluva lot to say today. I guess eventually time catches up with you, and there is really nothing truly new to write about.

Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
