Disinformation or disinformation

Today's Tids Issue 5,156

Laughter and Pathos:

“I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition.” --Martha Washington.

After I read this Tids issue, which seemed to focus on misery and negatives, I threw in that quote to offer a little hope. The other quote I thought of was form Oscar Wilde: “Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.” That suggests just deleting Today’s Tids.

Is the news as proclaimed by Nighttime News anchors more important than the exact same news that appeared on my phone 8 hours earlier?

Q. What's the difference between ignorance and apathy? A. I don’t know and I don’t care.

George Will hit it on the nose tis morning saying, No senators should be president. I have always felt that as even as a kid when my savvy poetical operative Grandmother told me exactly the same thing. Senators are basically just politicians positioning themselves to climb ladders, confusing voting successes with governing. Hell, many CEOs of corporations shouldn’t be there as their basic skill was playing internal politics. Senators typically have trouble seeing a broader picture because they are always on guard for inner battles and social media reaction.

The RI Legislature just moved a bill out of committee that would provide drivers permits for, “Those unable to establish a legal presence in the US.” That would mean those who snuck in unlawfully and are basically fugitives from justice.

HBO will be filming scenes around here for next year’s “The Gilded Age” for most of May. It seems they will be featuring The Marble Home of Alva Vanderbilt, the same house also used in the movies s The Great Gatsby (1974) and True Lies. It sems the biggest industry in RI, the least favored state for biz, is using the symbols of success produced during the times when RI was a leading economic force in the country.

The Question:

Name ten great flowers that bloom earliest in ASpring?

The Headlines.

--Former Super Tennis Star Boris Becker Gets Two Years In Jail Over Bankruptcy Fraud.

--Fauci Says US Will Not Get Classical Herd Mentality From Virus.

Technology Overkill:

Almost as annoying as phone scammers and robocalls is the fact that services you rely on like doctors' offices and clinics and other appointment situations now hound you to death with multiple combinations of Texts, Emails, and AI Telephone Calls. One of the problems with technology is that people use it whether or not they need it.

The world outside our minds is breathtaking. Don’t miss it.

For the NE Pats last night, their top draft pick was strange, Cole Strange, a guard from U Tennessee Chatanooga, a Div 2 team. Needless to say, it surprised all of the experts. Which is typical for Belichick. It seems like the Detroit Lions did great job last night as did the Eagles Jets and Giants. Also, surprising everybody were Baltimore and Tennessee trading away their super pass receivers fr draft picks. And the GB packers not opting for a receiver to help out Aaron. I stayed up much too long.

Many on the left are globalists who see no need for borders, and there are signs that say they also mean boarders surrounding private property of homeowners.

Maybe Secretaries of State Would make great presidents. Mayeb many of them are too smart to want to become president.

Hey, the Biden admin has just established a new Propaganda department! It’s true despite the fact that the real name is The Department of Homeland Security “Disinformation (Misinformation) Governance Board. It will be headed by Nina Jankowitz. The idea is to call out disinflation that is possibly hurting national stability. The problem as always is whose truth is the information based on. Nina Janowicz, “The Disinformation Czar” is well known as a disinformation spreader on social media. She led the charge against Hunter Biden laptop stores which have now been proven as completely true. She was the major social media promoter of the now debunked Clinton campaign Trump Russia connection. I can only say, beware of what come s out of the new Propaganda office.

The sorta good news is that the WS analysts are talking of recession potential in the next 24 months, which isn’t tomorrow. May be the Fed decision will soften over time and the other ills will disappear before then. Really, who knows. Nobody. If somebody knew, we’d never have a recession.

Reading Between the Lines Movie Reviews:

--”Memory” is thoughtful tension film with Liam Neeson as an Assassin with some moral codes and the beginnings of Alsheimer's. He is ordered by a drug cartel kill a thirteen-year-old kid which he cannot do. And he then must hunt down the mob who hired him and an FBI agent finds him. Critics don’t like it which means there is hope for the average movie goer.

--”The Duke” looks like an interesting story starring Helen Mirren and Jim Broadbent. It's about a witty, Charming, clever taxi driver who is arrested after stealing the famed painting by Goya – The Duke of Wellington. Broadbent is long time campaigner to improve pension rights for the elderly. He sends ransom notes to the government to invest more in his cause. Robinhood lives: He manages to talk himself out of the conviction. Great husband/wife interplay between Mirren and Broadbent living in meager surroundings is at the heart of this very pleasant tale.
