Offensive, or offensive.

Today's Tids Issue 5,306

It's the majority you don't see:

I'm not sure I like the idea of Zelenski drone bombing Moscow. It seems to spell E-s-c-a-l-a-t-i-o-n to me. And perhaps an excuse for Putin to blame the USA for an international incident. I’ll have to think about it.

Of course, there is good news. They are digging up home grown RI potatoes in South County again. Corn season is great but melt-in-your-mouth small red and white potato season is even better.

Have you noticed that the big gas station chains are now buildng mammoth convenience emporiums. When the EVs surpass gas cars they will have to make the money somewhere. Although most stations will more than likely evolve into charger stations too. And the bigger food places will become places to sit while thc charge is happening.

Instagram is just Twitter for people who go outside.

The shutdown of the huge Yellow Trucking Company seems quite significant to me. And it is not just the 30,000 jobs lost or the fact that they blew through $700 Million in Covid loan money, which they owe the Government. The problem seems to be a symptom of something that may be affecting a lot of older companies: The intrinsic need to restructure significantly and being hampered by old union rules and contracts. That seems to be the problem with Yellow, and union chiefs won’t let go.

Moms aren’t letting their kids use the new Twitter because it is “X” designated.

Morgan Stanley’s Michael Wilson, one of Wall Street's most intelligent pessimists a has changed his dire tone of the past year to now, the rally will continue.

Never mention the number 288. It’s two gross.

Putin is the least likely power person on earth to say, “Ok, you got me. Let's capitulate, we got bombed in Moscow.

One of the great enjoyments of living in a small city is walking around town getting to know small shop owners.

Of course, the idea there was to bring the war to Russian citizens so they will revolt.  How are revolts working out for the aveage Russian citizen,

I expect a lot of people hearing the news about the horrible bombing in Pakistan will say something like, “Oh, t it’s just Pakistan, wherever that is?” But Pakistani s only the 6th most populous nation on Earth, and they have Nukes.

If a nation wanted to weaken a nation for mental or w physical takeover, they'd be dividing a country exactly as the USA is being divided today.

Katey Ledecky just keeps on breaking records. And America is always treated to that big ole’ smile of hers.

It seems to this innocent in the world of instant everything that there is just something incongruous about instant wealth from “Go Fund Me". And it is often not thought through in the beginning.

Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be…

The Answer:

Good ole’ Ike signed the bill that gave us NASA. He also signed into law the first Civil Rights legislation since the reconstruction. Ike's eight years in the delightful Fifties were very productive on many levels. And the people in the country pretty much got along.

I have been told by some younger, hipper generations that the fifties were statistically abnormal, not edgy enough. Hmm. How is edgy working out for you these days?

A photon checks into a hotel and the bellhop asks him if he has any luggage…. The photon replies, “No, I’m traveling light.”
