Where has Civilization Gone.

Today's Tids Issue 5,289

Is it selfishness:

Yesterday was yesterday, but tomorrow is a gift.

What happened to the Ukraine peace initiatives coming out of China and Africa?

Some people may look at me as a happy-go lucky kind of guy, but I think approaching life with a little humor, a little resilience can take you a long way past the troubles that always occur, big and small. Even as you feel the depth of the ills. And the people around you may feel better about it too.

The reason some politicians like to stand on their record is to keep voters from examining it.

The Question:

Name 6 of the players participating in the first ever Baseball All Star game in 1933.

The Headlines:

--Stocks in Deep Red Ahead of Opening as WS looks to Fed Rate Hike in July.

--Prigozhin Back in Russia Picking up Confiscated Weapons and about $100 Millon worth of Rubles

--The Meta Twitter War Begins.

--Americans Mourn Inter City Savagery.

A local sports radio host said he walked into his favorite sports bar a couple of nights ago hoping to catch up on his beloved Red Sox, All the sets were tuned to a Pickleball Tournament. Where have you gone American Pastime.

A leading cosmologist said that the Webb Telescope has been quite revealing, changing significantly many previous rock-solid opinions about the formation of our universe. But he reminded us several times, he still believes in the big bang theory. Sure he does.

Since loyalty seems to be a characteristic among the missing in our society today, I’m thinking that Twitter is in deep trouble. But probably in the end all these SM services will find their niche.

All the politicians in the wake of the unimaginable series of bloody shootings say te h common denominator is guns. I say the common denominator is hatred, mental illness and a total disregard for the value human life. How did we get here.

Prescribing birth-control pills for dogs is part of an anti-litter campaign.

Let’s hope they don’t mess up Wheel of Fortune when Pat Sajak retires. I worry about stupid stuff like that.

I’m trying to get Tids out early this morning and all my technological gizmos are having hissyfits and refusing to work efficiently. But I am smiling.

Stocks rising and falling on rate hikes is just kind of silly economics to me. Just a bunch of WS denizens looking for reasons to make trades.

Soap opera for Cats: “More Than One day to Live”. * (Thanks to Mike Peters.)

The Answer:

The Mangers were legends John McGraw and Connie Mack. The teams were loaded with household Names: Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe Cronin, Lefty Grove, Bill Dicky, Al Simmons, Lefty Gomez, Eddie Collins, Al Schact, Charlie Gehringer, Jimmy Foxx, Carl Hubble, Tony Lazzeri, Chuck Klein, Paul Waner and Gabby Hartnett, among others.

How do we turn around the minds that can't see the value of human life. Who seem to feel their anger repressing that love which is always somewhere in everybody's heart. What has made so many forget about the innate value of a human life.
