Funny is good.

Today's Tids Issue 5,299

I think. I smile:

There are many days when the greatest treat is standing, leaning against a wall and looking out to sea. Just yourself and the magnificence of the ocean deep.

There are just so many people who can afford to overpay for a Tesla.

One of my very favorite politicians is getting out of the morass. Yes, Governor Chris Sununu of New Hampshire just announced he will not run again. He is smart, really funny, understanding within a conservative bent. He is truly unique in that industry. He is well... well... well, like a real human being

Hunter Biden better hope that his dad wins again in 2024.

The Question:

Fox News new primetime lineup begins today. What is it?

The Headleins:

--Markets Drifting Close to Higher Before Opening; Tesla Misses Big, Stock Could be Severely Punished Today; Netflix also Misses in Key Areas.

--DC Grand Jury Meeting Today; Another Indictment of DT Could be a Likely Result.

--Winning Ticket for $1.08 Bill Powerball Sold in LA.

--World Cup Starts Today in New Zealand Fillowing Shootings Yesterday Near Team Hotels.

Good news for insomniacs: The “Open in Scotland is on TV starting really, really early in the morning. The Chaneel: USA. Right now the leader is Cristo Lemprecht (-5). Among the better-known names, we have in the top four Jordan Spieth, Adma Scott, Tommy Fleetwood and US Open Champ Wyndham Clark. Tune in.

The height of outrageous coach firings would be Lou Sabin losing his job because he can’t catch Georgia. But you know fans. The past doesn’t count.

Your mind is the greatest entertainment medium of them all. And you don’t need tickets and reservations or traffic congestion.

I have alwsy carried a penknife with me, and yes, lost many of them at airline check-ins. But today they have become almost essential to today's modern human … to open daily packages from Amazon and others. Invest in Swiss Army!

Rats! I knew I should have bought a Powerball ticket yesterday. A winner of the $1.08Bil was found in LA. There goes my retirement plan. But, hey, it was only the third highest ever jackpot, so maybe it wasn’t worth it after all.

It’s pretty easy to believe those IRS whistleblowers and their accusations about Hunter B being treated with kid gloves. Men and women in the trenches always know, it seems to me. And it is easy to believe also because Dems in retaliation only speak of the procedural problems and not against the prima facie exposure.

After the Q about the all-time home run record held by Roger Conner broken by the Babe, most of you may have said, “Roger who?” But one reader writes to say that Roger was his dad's Godfather. You never know. He also told me that Riger won the NL batting title in 1898. He had to have beaten out Brooklyn's Wee Willie Keeler, who my father knew. We are practically related.

Netflix missing in key financial areas in their Q2 report last night doesn't surprise me in the least. They are in a highly competitive field with big production costs that are difficult to offset with reasonable subscription fees. I personally don’t see it as a growth stock, despite its affinity to population growth. It is also tied to population fickleness.

The Question:

You may have noticed a lack of incisive depth to some of my summer Thursday morning Q's as I rush to get it out early before playing golf. Yes, the Tids writer is not all business. Playing is good. The lineup is Laura Ingraham 7:00 (My daughter sat next to her in HS and told me LI was quite the good jock) Next at 8:00 is Jesse Waters followed by Hannity and new at 10, Greg Gutfeld. Gutfeld had been late night for Fox News and had out-pulled the network comedians.

Every day is a beautiful day regardless what the weatherman says. Enjoy every minute
