Just four more days of Turkey Dinners.

Today's Tids Issue 4.786

But, no more gravy:

I wasn’t going to visit my family this December, but my Mom promised to make Eggs Benedict. So, I’m going home for the hollandaise? Tomorrow is December 1 and I just thought I’s prepare you for some of the bad jokes to come.

Welcome back from a good Thanksgiving Day weekend. I found it to be four lazy days in which my body seriously sagged to new low in blubbery softness.

Pundits are now calling it “Biden’s November Stock Market Surge.” Yet many of them reluctantly agree it is happening as the result of Trump’s investment in Vaccinee development,

TikTok is great for kids. Yeah, sure! The latest viral content I from TikTok glorifies the romance of Mexico drug cartels to a naive audience of children. What these TikTok vehicles don’t show is that Mexico is once again set to shatter murder records for the country. The plan, say Organized Crime experts, is to mask the bloodshed with TikTok visuals showing promises and illustrations of extreme wealth. Hollywood has always said that their movies and TV programming doesn’t affect young minds. I guess the cartels didn’t get the message.

The Question:

Name the five greatest works of Oscar Wilde and Eugene O’Neill. Bonus: In what place does January come after February and December come before September?

The Headlines:

--Moderna Applies To FDA For “Emergency use Authorization”; Stock takes Off; Up 20 at Mid-Morning; Dow And Rest Of Indexes Down Significantly.

--Pressure Mounting For Congress To Pass New Stimulus Bill.

--Biden Names Economic Team: Yellen as Treas Secretary; Left Leaning Neera Tanden OMB;  Plus Cecilia Rouse CEA and Heather Boushey Counsel Of Economic Advisors; Tanden Said To Be Dead On Arrival In Snate.

--Jack Ma’s Giant Ant IPO May be Pushed Off Until 2022 Due To New China Regulatory Hurdles.

Could the Georgia Senate runoff hinge upon whether or not a Repub Senate would pass a new stimulus package. If all the predictions of more Covid trauma are correct, many voters will only have their eyes on passage of the bill for the short term. People without food or income don’t look at big pictures.

There’s too much on the sports pages about the mitigation of Covid policies. I don’t turn to sports for Covid theories. But I have to say that the NFL seems to be heading for problems as infections seem to be increasing rapidly and going deeper into organizations. It looks like there may be a little panic at NFL HQ as the potential for problems around the Play-offs loom. How do you keep youthful players with big bucks in their pockets locked in a room? Just tell them that staying healthy is part of their job. It’s why they are paid.

I have a date for New Year’s Eve. December 31st.

A reader reminds me that the left is willing to wait for decades to achieve their agendas. He refers to the siege of the USA education system which is now paying big dividends from the new truths eroding US foundations, now accepted by new generations now leaning left. He picked up on my small Tidlet regard the increased use of the word “Science”, “Science Based”. He said it’s not random happenstance, but a precisely designed device to support any objective of theirs like climate or Covid is It permits them to declare any naysayers to heir science as “Ignorant”, and of course unify the nodding heads of sheep they love to herd. It’s the same way they called any Trump supporters brainless, deplorable.

Who can argue with science? Anybody who wants to.

Just in case you missed it, Merriam-Webster just announced the top new word for the year – “Pandemic” (Duh). Some of the others are Coronavirus, Quarantine (?), asymptomatic, mamba, kraken, defund (!), antebellum, irregardless, icon, schadenfreude and malarkey. To tis persons ears, Irregardless has been a misused word since the beginning of time, and under duress I quickly had to learn that regardless is the correct word. And I became diligent about. It never existed as a proper word and now it does. The official definition of irregardless is, “regardless”, which a has been the correct the word at least for 200 years. But now the M-W dictionary dismisses the lovers of regardless as the “Disirregardlessers”, basically calling them pompous snobs.! Yikes. The dictionary says that despite the fact the millions of people have misused the word irregardless for over 200 years as substitute for regardless, we shouldn’t condemn the uneducated.  Say what? Close the schools! Sighs of the times Department[RH1] .  Spell-check doesn’t agree, yet. What’s; next for inclusion, “Ain’t”?

I have not seen so much news about a kickoff than last night when all the networks went crazy over Sarah Fuller, the female kicker for Vanderbilt football. Too bad she had to make her debut with her 0-8 team losing 41-0. Oh yeah, and her coach was fired 22 hours ago. Her kickoff was a low, planned roller to the Missouri 32-yard line.  I’m kinda getting tired of all these “Historic” Firsts. I could be the first ever octogenarian born in June in the Northeast to mistakenly order a fake meat hamburger and gag on it in public. My sarcasm aside, Sarah is truly a great champion Soccer player. The more we have “woke” firsts, the less meaningful being first will be.

Funny Money, Department:

I read where Mike Tyson was paid about $6 Million for that bogus fight against Roy Jones Saturday night. Joes got $3.5 Mil. Isn’t it amazing what people will pay for; forking over real money to watch a cartoon. It just proves once again that there is enormous amounts of money flowing through hands to pay for basically anything from the ridiculous to the sublime. It’s a reason the Stocks Markets can appear more stable than it appears they should -- lots of money on the sidelines at all times. But, wouldn’t it be nice if all those gobs of money filtered down to the worried owners of small businesses struggling under Covid restrictions?

The Answer:

Oscar Wilde: Portrait of Dorian Grey, The Importance of Being Earnest, the Canterville Ghost, Intentions, Lady Windermere’s Fan, The happy Prince, just to name a few. Eugene O’Niell was prolific with Long Day’s Journey Into Night, Morning Becomes Electra, The Hairy Ape, The Emperor Jones, Desire Under the Elms, Strange Interlude, Beyond the Horizon, Anna Christie, The Iceman Cometh, Ah Wilderness, All God’s Children got Wings, and Moon for the Misbegotten. Bonus: It happens in the dictionary.

Today s Cyber Monday. I hadn’t noticed, but I think I can feel it in the air.

Personally, I was much more interested in Small Busyness Saturday. If I ever bought a Christmas present, that’s where I would spend my dough. Maybe Mike Tyson will come to Wickford Village or some small town in Iowa or Idaho or inner city shopping crossroads.
