A good flag wavin’ day.

Today's Tids Issue 5,148

Behind Stone Walls:

Happy beginning of the Revolutionary War Day, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!. It was day of bravery and courage for these regular folks. A Day of "We’re not going to take it anymore”. A day in Lexington and Concord where Americans stepped out to go after the well trained, well organized British Redcoats. And our farmers and tradesmen. Mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters and children, and people comfortable in their safe houses came out together. And they all showed the world, by God. And basically, 247 years ago gave us today.

Compare that to China today where we see the empty streets of a 25 million population Shanghai being patrolled by robot dogs and drones in the sky. How scary is that concept. And a tyrannical government walk in taking people’s homes, throwing them into the streets. And they see machines as their masters.

I’m seeing that Wall Street is thinking that the use of the word, “Recession” is premature. It’s nice to get below the anxiety levels every once in a while.

I like the term, “Affectionate smile”.

The Question:

Some really good TV shows are ending in 2022. What are the Top Ten Favorites which will be missed most of all.

The Headlines:

--Markets Open On Positive Note; Global GDP Due Out – Expected To Be Lower Than Initial Projections – 3.6 Versus Original 4.4; Ukraine War Concerns Are The Problem.

--Russia Turns Major Offensive To Donas Region In Eastern Ukraine.

--Russia Gives Mariupol Defenders Surrender Ultimatum; Bunker Busting Bombs Said To Be Landing In Steel Mill – Last Resort for Fighters And Safe Place For Citizens.

--South African Flooding Kills At Least 400, Displaces And Threatens 30,000.

I myself often poke fun at many of these proposals coming out of Congressional bill add-ons. The current Repub vitriol under the guise of bad humor is aimed at little ole RI and a chunk of dough proposed for Oyster farming, But the fact is that RI’er Oyster farming is to here just as wine is to California or auto making is to Detroit or Chips are to Taiwan. I believe we should be making high tech chips too. But we have more water than land in this state and we use it for what it does best, create fisheries, I am a loyal repub, but today their inane sense of humor based on being uninformed roils me. That's a problem with America today, isn’t it -- taking immovable positions with little understanding of the facts they choose to use.

There are many great musicians in the world and I’m not even close to being a beginner. And I love music as much as anything. Except for a few humans I know.

NCIS Had one of their better shows of the season last night.

The main speaker at the National Laxative Convention stood there on stage amidst the applause and said, “Thank you very much. I am deeply moved.” (Thanks to John McPherson which made me laugh out loud this morning.

I believe that “Billions” has jumped the shark since Ax left the building. Mike Prince just doesn’t grab me. Although the ending did promise a new season of catching evil doers. Too many characters now are more annoying than likable or even sympathetic. And that includes Wendy.

The Answer:

Number one favorite to be missed is Ozark. Next is Better Call Saul followed by Arthur, The Last Kingdom, Peaky Blinders, The Expanse, New Amsterdam, Manifest, Walking Dead and at #10, Dead to Me. #15 is the former very popular, This is Us. BTW, Peaky Blinders is also the best show nobody is watching.
