Pass it along

Today's Tids Issue 5.143

Countdown to Redemption:

Here we are in day two of Holy Week for Christians and people on the radio are talking about how they can hardly wait til the week after when they can get lots of great Easter candy on sale. Think about how great the internet would be this weekend if everybody was tweeting about the awesome sunrise services on Easter Morn.

We are living in a world where one inane utterance can be tweeted along to millions in a nanosecond and become a rule of thumb for living.

What did the buffalo say when his kid left? Bison! See, read the Tids and intellectualize yourself.

The Question:

In the 1950’s Bill Haley and the Comets had one gigantic hit song. What was it? Bonus: Who are considered the greatest late night, Daytime and in-between TV talk show hosts of all time. This is a question that could cause fights.

I am seeing signs of a mask revival. Colleges and universities are dogn it. There seems to have been a spreader event in DC that inflicted our happy politicos. And Fauci is back on the circuit.

A good reader reminds me that true happiness could be seen in the faces of Rory McIlroy and Colin Morikawa after their back-to-back sand trap hole-outs on the 18th green at the masters. These guys have millions but it's nice to see that they never stop looking for real genuine happiness. Rory said that in all of his golf moments he has never been happier than last Sunday. And you could tell looking at him. It was pure.

Today the US Post Office still serves America well delivering your recycling directly to the house.

Don’t ever be afraid to jump up and down and smile out loud. I often make a fool out of myself and enjoy every minute of it.

Today’s kids will never have the pleasure of wondering, what ever happened to that cute girl in the first row I always dreamed about instead of paying attention in class.

Philosophical question of the day sent in by curious reader: Are transgender people homosexuals?

The NBA playoffs sure look a bit convoluted these days. But money tends to do that to sports.

Do you get the feeling that the Chinese created a language out of tattoos?

People buy female holly bushes for the red berries. I wonder if they ever get lonely with no male hollies around.

The Answer:

Bill Haley had one of the great hits of the day. In fact Rolling Stones’s List oif teh all-time 500 greatest hits has "Rock Around The Clock” as #159. Bonus: Surprise, Johnny Carson is #1. Conan O’Brian is #2 followed by Craig Fergusson, Graham North, Dick Cavett, David Letterman, Merv Griffin, Ed Sullivan, Dick Clark and #10, Regis Philbin. Gong to 25 we have Steve Allen, Jon Stewart, Jack Paar, Joey Bishop, Charlie Rose, Maury Povich, Garry Shandling, Tom Snyder, Pat Sajak, Phil Donahue, James Lipton, Chris Rock, Stephen Colbert, Jeremy Clarkson and Leeza Gibbons. # 26 is Elmo! Jay Leno is #70. Jimmy Fallon is #91.

Lincoln said that the way to assure your path forward is to create it. Or something like that.
