And the sun will shine brightly

Why do leaders fear goodness:

Easter Sunday always feels like the day of Perfect love. Yet lately I am saddened by the anger between humans. The use of the word hate. The inability to stop the venom and look into the love of hearts. Where is the giving, The understanding. The unselfishness From where has this anger come? To where has all the love gone?

President Reagan’s words following the tragedy of the Challenger explosion struck me this Good Friday. "...They slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God.”

A man made humble by the incongruities of earth slipped the bonds of humankind to join his father 1,990 years ago today. A life given up to the anger of mankind; whose only crime was teaching love, kindness and understandingThink of the sadness of those there beneath the cross, on the hillsides and in the towns where he had stridden. All those who couldn’t grasp the weakness of his tormentors only fearing his goodness. But on the following Sunday, they would understand. They would feel the glory of Easter Sunday. Where Jesus would rise to see the Face of God, his father. So that we all might be free from the bonds of human inadequacies. Why have we forgotten

Happy Easter, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!

Nothing feels more like the way I envision Easter Sunday morning Easter than the finale of Gustav Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony, Emerse yourself in the love.
