No joke.

Today's Tids Issue 5,401

Husky mush:

What a week to start April, surely one of the prettiest months of all. At least, that’s what lore and happy tunes say. But April Fool's Day got us again as this morning in the loverly month of April it is but a mere 27 degrees, where we see daffodils shivering. And what a week to kick it all off. The NCAA Basketballs Championship game for men is tonight following a big win yesterday for LSU women who beat Iowa and their Wunderkind Caitlin Clark. And of course, it is also Master’s week in Augusta where the golfing elite gather. Yet with all the glitz and hoopla and fond remembrances of sports heroes present and past, it is a truly profound week, the most important week in Christianity -- the celebration of sacrifice and rebirth and hope. We’ll forget the scores, the moments of rapture and accomplishment, but what lasts forever is knowing we not walking alone on this earth. After this week what else could possibly happen. Welcome April. The month of hope.

Every American who pays attention will be able to write the speech that Trump gives Tuesday night post-Arraignment. But the TV networks love it and will be promoting it all for the ratings.

To measure puns properly, use a sighsmograph. The TIds Punster Laureate (TPL) strikes again!

As AI becomes dominant, will people's brains atrophy?

Has there ever been more redundant reporting about nothing than there has been today about the journey of Trump to NY?

One of the great advantages that I have experienced that may give an edge to winter over summer is that Cheeto dust doesn’t stick to your fingers and lips in the winter. Nobody will know what you are doing in that closet.

The Question:

Who are Pat Garrett and Robert Ford?

The Headlines:

--Dow Up Nicely’ Nas not so Good; Dow Gains Strength at Closing, Nas Fights Back; OPEC Production Halt Could Cause Problems on Inflation Front.

--Trump to be Arraigned In Circus Atmosphere.

--Russia Blames Ukraine for Bombing That Killed Putin Ally and Blogger.

--UFC Owner Endeavor Agrees to Merge with WWE Create Company Valued at $22 Million.

--LSU Beats Iowa for Woman’s NCAA Basketball Title; UConn Plays SDSU For Men's Title tonight.

Declining America, Department:

Over the weekend, Nancy P chirped in on the Trump indictment saying, “He will have to prove his innocence.” Yikes, she leads the US Congress and doesn't remember that in America people are innocent until proven guilty. This misconception is part of a true pandemic infecting the stability of the US. The concept of innocent till proven guilty is an enormous protection it is country. And it is violated on a regular basis in social media where good people are routinely labeled guilty of serious misdeeds often heinous crimes a court of law to turn to. The result may be te disintegration of a career or life situation. With the label a modern-day scarlet letter.

Considering it was about 37-38 degrees, it was amazingly warm this morning. That dichotomy will tend to give you a wide-open golf course.

The sports experts talk often about the college basketball blue bloods, and they almost always mention Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky and Kansas as the class of them all. But if UConn wins tonight, they will have 5 championships in the last 25 years while Duke and NC will have 3, Kentucky 2 and Kansas one. Villanova will also have 2.

Schools in lumber country teach math religiously to young wannabe lumberjacks. That’s why they are so good in twigonometry. I see it as a sine of educational progress.

How do we stop states and cities from proposing minimum wage increases of up to 25% in two years which only adds to a never ending inflation cycle. And guess what, the companies don’t pay for it The customers, the wage earners do,

I’ve lowered the standards of my Netflix movies series rating system by adding a new category -- “Not entirely stupid. At least I won’t dismiss everything out of hand.

How often do you have to go back after texting to change what you sent after Auto Correct has changed the meaning or obliterated a word entirely.

I think a lot of people are hoping for presidential candidates who are sane.

Can you believe that a company that socializes hoodwinking Americans with fake wrestling I can be worth $9.5 Billion. No wonder it is so easy to sell people email scams.

There are many who see AI as a great tool abetting digital scam ability.

The Answer:

Robert ford is that guy who shot Jesse James and Pat Garrett is the Sheriff who shot Billy the Kid.

There are several things that I have never been able to do well but two in particular really bother me. One is how to do that commanding two fingers in the mouth whistle and another is who to blow out the eggs while keeping the shell intact.

I’m rooting for UConn tonight.  If UConn wins, Hurley will become the King of Coaches. It would be a great win for his iconic coaching dad, too.
