Today's Tids Issue 3.882
For Soft Music:

There are mornings when I get caught up in the music; the music that normally sets me free to wander into my mind searching for little things that may be more than they seem. Drifting along on a melody is a narcotic that alleviates stress and inspires optimism. Music that invigorates my fingers; freed to wander aimlessly in an insular world; turning over rocks or staring at a lonely daisy. That’s how this Tids thing gets done. Unless, on those days when I drift a little too far.

There’s a lot of conjecture in the press and within the loyal opposition on all of the Trump accusations. Personally, I don’t think they know much more than you or I. So, I’m going to wait until some real evidence surfaces before making comments. But, I have to say that Trump is acting much too defensive. Maybe that’s an old deal-making ploy.

The President live tweeting the Comey testimony is about as stupid an idea as I have heard in two lifetimes --- speaking of being defensive.

If you like a good sense of humor, then you have to like Kulula (A low cost South African airline). In giant letters on one side of the plane it reads “Flying 101”). The sides are also marked with aids to  the pilots with arrows pointing accompanied by words saying, “Nose Cone (Radar, Antenna and a really big dish inside)”, “Front Door”, “Galley”, “Landing gear”, “The Black Box (Which is actually Orange)”, “Co-Captain (The other pilot on the PA System)”, and on the other side, “The Big Cheese.” (Under the Captain’s window.) Also on the other side in huge type there are arrows pointing to the top, with words saying “This way Up”. Among the many “Stewardess” announcements is this, “Please be sure to take all of your belongings. If you’re going to leave anything, please make sure it’s something we’d like to have.”

The Question:
The ever popular –“Who are these people” Q is back: Ken Osmond, Anne Twomey, Colleen Camp, Karl Urban, Anna Torv and Michael Cera.

I find nothing charming about graffiti artists, who I consider basically vandals. That is not to say that some aren’t incredibly talented, but destroying other people’s property of is not my idea of a proper canvas.

If you constantly look for optimism you’ll probably find it.

The new Peer to Peer feature of “Apple Pay” could change a lot in the economy, like the gradual elimination of cash. What would criminals do without access to suitcases full of cash?

Uber is proving that the “Good Young Boy Network” is no better than the “Good Old Boy Network.”

The strength of America is based on restrictions put in place that would prevent concentration of power. The Electoral college is one of those, and the progressives who dominate the highly-populated cities would like to change that too, most likely advocating direct electronic national voting. That said, Trump is no angel when It comes to having little understanding of the process to get things done. The US Government is not a privately-owned company with the senior family member on top.

Bernie Sanderism has become bigger than the Democrat party.

You may be wondering what yesterday’s sad attempt at Suess poetry was all about. There was some Suess news in the paper yesterday. It was an announcement of a new Dr. Suess Museum in his hometown of Springfield Mass. Now that should be a pretty upbeat family announcement. What bothered me enough to embarrass myself with a poem was that it was sandwiched between two long, dark articles -- one of a gang shooting, and the other of drive-by killing of a teen. The stench of an extraordinarily cinch like Grinch.  So that’s what yesterday was all about. We need more Suess news with vitamin D; that’s sunny juice for Suess.

Blonde Joke warning:
A blonde woman was deliriously happy with the security afforded by her new password: “MickyMinniePlutoHueyLouieDeweyDonaldGoofySacremento”. When asked why she had such a long password, she looked up in dismay, “Hello – it had to have 8 characters and a capital.”

Single payer is the new watchword of the Dems and progressives, and also many moderates. Expect it to be initiated at states like California first. They seem to have a handle “single” part of the theory. It’s the “payer” part that everybody is finding difficult.

The Answer:
As you know, the “Who are these People” Q often uncovers people quite familiar to you even if the name isn’t. Ken Osmond should be a household name for everybody of a certain age. He was Eddie Haskell on Beaver. Anne Twomey was highly acclaimed for role her in a Broadway Show “Nuts” (She was nominated for a Tony and given the Theater World Award. You have seen her in TV and movies. Colleen  was in many roles for her beauty, but her comedic wit was actually quite good. Her biggest role is as wife of John Goldwyn. Karl Urban is a highly-respected actor best known for key roles in Xena the Warrior, The Legendary Journeys and parts two and three of the Lord of the Rings. Anna Torv was a big hit playing the FBI agent Olivia Dunham in Fringe. She is slated to have the lead role in the new TV series, Mindhunter. Michael Cera’s first notoriety came as a child actor playing Chuck Barris in Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. He is mostly known for playing George Michael Bluth in Arrested Development.

Well the music is ending, and the vacuum cleaner sounds a little more aggressive. Time for me to get outta here.
