Happy dreams.

Today's Tids Issue 4,565
Hum-Drum Harangue:

I’m looking at a lazy day.
Too cool for Golf,
Too warm to ski.
But there is another way
To move your blood
And feel that ecstasy.
Just think of those you love.
Feel yourself flying
Above the tallest tree.

Have you noticed how easily journalists can be sucked into misinformation? It’s probably because they don’t want to be left out, or they want to be associated the cultural forefront. And info disseminators know it.

A juvenile delinquent is an example of an arrested youth.

My interest in politics now is more about figuring strategies than anything else.

I was quite surprised last night while watching the opening of the NCAA football championship where President Trump strode out with Melania in to a raucous, thunderous approval from the more than 65,000 spectators. If there was a boo or two, I didn’t hear it. I got to thinking that while the pundits ponder and postulate on anecdotal squibs from the two left coasts, there is another America with USA tradition in their hearts who are just that much different. Despite the impeachment and the constant sniping, the Dems are mightily worried about those landlocked throngs upon the prairies who still applaud the office, and the efforts of the President beyond the twitter.

Do you know what I think? I think that more people than we imagine on both sides of the issues think this divide America situation sucks. That a fast-growing segment of the population is a vast majority of people who are realizing they are not that far apart on even some of the stickiest issues.

If you lost a lot of sleep during the holidays, tonight is catch-up night – The Dem debate and the RI State of the State speech by Gov. Raimondo. Sell your stock in Avinol PM, Melatrol, Alteril and  ZzzQuil!

The Question:
Who is Suzanne Cryer?

The Headlines:

Larry Ellison put a Billion into Tesla and he is getting happier and happier.

Trump’s nicknames for others are becoming tedious to this guy having a lazy day.

Women’s Groups seem to be Ok with using “Gunmen” in headlines.

In NYC a tenant pushed his landlord down the stairway to his death. Well, now at least the tenant won’t have to worry about rent collectors in his next apartment.

It now looks like Climate warriors will be going after Wall Street for “funneling money into planetary destruction”. Yup. Now the financial world has the emergence of climate advocacy, all at a time when they are combatting “millennial socialism”.

Here’s something I don’t understand. A month or so ago, the US Congress voted on articles of impeachment which authorized Congressional leadership to carry them over to the Senate. But today I read that Nancy will hold a vote tomorrow on whether she should carry the articles across the building to the Senate. And, you wonder why government doesn’t work.

I’m a little bit in a state of shock today. This morning I heard the Mayor of Providence say something rational and not partisan. He said they have enough money for education, and that the real problem they are facing to fix the underperforming school system are the many regulations. Is there wax in my ears?

And on the big stage, Elizabeth Warren is promising more pampering of the youth with her new plan to dismiss their obligation to pay back loans for education which they agreed to pay back.

One of the latest email jokes going around has pics of Obama and Trump side by side. Under Obama is says “IRAN”. Under Trump it says “IDIDNT”.

Reading the latest Baseball sign stealing news, you have to think that the American Pastime, is cheating.

I don’t read headlines that begin, “X, Y, Z Blast Trump…” It’s just not news anymore.

Like during last night’s obvious appreciative applause for the Prez at the NCAA Game, some writer will put out an article about one person he or she heard booing. You don’t have to like Trump to understand how outrageous, even foolish the criticism has become.

Last night Eliz seemed to launch the “Sexist” accusation against Bernie. But if you follow the news regularly, you have probably noticed that when Dems are in panic mode, they appear to resort to shouting Racist or Sexist or some other Ist.

The Answer:
Every once in a while, I like to pick out Celebs of whom I know nothing and see if you do. Suzanne Cryer was a star of the TV sitcom “Two Guys and a Girl”, playing Ashley, and is currently Laurie Bream in “Silicon Valley”.

Writing about politics makes a good heart turn black. I’m better off taking naps.

Zzzzzzzzzzzz…
