Today's Tids Issue 5,502
Just stand up:
Peacefulness.
Serenity.
Exhausting mindless activities.
Supplanting angry proclivities.
Clouds passing.
Seas rolling.
Trees filling.
Living, caressed
By nature, redressed.
All I'm saying here is that there is lots to love all around you.
The idea that Air BnB is a nice way to rent out an extra bedroom has been supplanted by corporate structures needing to meet bottom lines; Rael Estate investment companies overpaying to gobble iup houses that used to be single family homes. And changing the cost basic for basic sheltering. But there has been a reawakening. It's good to see towns moving to temper tis rush to the demise of reasonable cost living. The housing market is not being decided by people anymore. And as they say in the movie, “I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore.” And guess what, at least around here, elected officials are beginning to listen.
If horse racing is the "sport of kings", is drag racing the sport of queens?
The Question:
Name ten celebrities supposedly mixed up with the Mob. Hint: Frank Sinatra isn't #1.
The Headlines:
--Markets Soaring; Unemployment Gorws; Hitring and Wage Growth Slows.
--The Street Responds Favorably to Apple Report – Hit Profits Above Estimates; Revenue decline Not as bad as Forecast.
--Israel Mulling Proposal That Would Involve Sharing Power with Arab States in Postwar Gaza.
The Seattle Times reports that the State of Washington is seriously concerned they may run out of Power. Holy Salmon Ladder, Batman. Yes, one of the enormous users of clericity are Cloud storage farms. And the cloud has been the salvation for many giant Tech firms like Microsoft and Alphabet.
It’s dress up time for the glitzy demographic as the Kentucky Derby arrives Saturday. I like watching the race. But the hours pf fancy hats and Julips and experts' quips before it is tedious. Fierceness 5-2, Sierra Leone3-1 and Catching Freedom 8-1 seem to be it this year at Churchill Downs. In fact, some are saying that Fierceness could be the first favorite to win the racing Granddaddy in 5 years. There seems to be a feeling that picking a long shot will be more difficult this year. 8 horses have odds higher than 30-1. 8 horses have odds at 20-1 and only 5 horses have odds 10-1 or lower. It seems like a different kind of bunching this year.
Win, lose or draw, on Sunday you can eat tacos.
Oops! New odds just published have Fierceness moving up to 9-5 and Sierra Leone moving down to 6-1. Catching Freedom is now down to fourth at 9-1 while Forever Young has moved up to #3 at 8-1. In years past it used to be easy to find odds I could use to write this annual Tidlet. But now when seeking I'm directed to a sports gambling group who wants me to place a bet first. Like because I’m there they think I actually all about gambling. I just like to write and watch the horses run.
But on Sunday yo u can get Tacos. That's a sure thing.
If horse jockeys have to be tiny, just imagine how small disk jockeys have to be.
Wall Street liked that Apple revenue didn't decline as much as they had forecast. I believe sources for new revenue should be paramount in the minds of Apple investors. Missing a negative forecast is still not good news when te bigger story is about revenue declining... for real.
The Answer:
Number 10 is Frank Sinatra. Going down to number 1 we have James Caan, Geroge Raft. Lana Turner, Bing Crosby, Debbie Reynolds, Tony Bennett, Marilyn Monroe, Wayne ne Newton and Jerry Orbach.
