No More Cynicism.

Today's Tids Issue 2,985
Opening Stuff:
We all believe in Santa Clause, right? Believing in what you don't understand is a wonderful human quality which actually allows us to enjoy life with fewer fears. And, more hope and love.  --Believing that a bridge won't collapse, even as you wonder why it is able to float in air. Believing that a jet liner won't fall to earth like the rock that it is. So I believe in lots of stuff that is utterly bewildering, like that the universe has no end. That's a big one. And I believe in Santa Claus. Yes, I believe in that old rascal because I believe in what I see twinkling in childrens eyes every year around time. Kind of makes your heart leap, doesnt it.

Big boxes come and big boxes go, but RI's Benny's just keeps rolling along with a store full of everything and good prices.

The Question:
What does Lululemn make?

Wowsers! The old Tids Sports department outdid themselves last week with a hardy 15-1 reord, only losing the NO-Carolina game. Our record is up to 135-75, actually still below our preseason goals. This week gets us back into the fray with a lot of posers. Denver at home even without Welker should be easy, but San Diego has been tough. I'll stick with Denver. Philly has been rolling and Minn is a mystery. Philly needs it more. Two big disappointments meet, and Atlanta will beat Washington. TB is getting tougher, but so is SF and they see the the playoffs. Seattle should bounce back against the Jints. I have to take a fading Indy, even against a hugry Texan team. I grew to love Cleveland Sunday, and I'm going with an upset over the Bears. Miami is playing better than the Pats, and they are at home. The game is potentially pivotal in the East Championship. No last second half magic for the Pats. (I hope I'm wrong). I love Buffalo, but Jax seems to have it going. KC should beat Oakland, as should NO over a valliant SL and Carolina too strong for the Jets. Tenn is a battler, but Ariz is playing too well. Dallas has to win one, right? They are at home against a struggling GB. We finish with two wars, Cinn-Pitt and Balt-Detroit. Cinn will keep on rolling. Detroit and Balt both must win, and last year's SB champ is improving. I'm picking the  Lions who are seeing the playoffs clearly now..

Season three of "Homeland" concludes Sunday night, and I'm already on the edge of my seat. Not only is the situation incredibly tense after the last episode, but a super surprise has been promised. Maybe they'll find the better last Seinfeld episode in Teheran!

The first of the Movie awards nominations arrived on the scene with SAG and Golden Globe giving an enthusiastic nod to "12 Years a Slave". Social issue films always get pushed to the top, but Slave is powerful and moving...and frankly frustrating as hell. Some other strong candidates are "American Hustle", Nebraska", "Gravity", Captain Phillips", "Inside Lewyn Davis", "Her", "Philomena" and one I'm looking forward to -- "Wolf of Wall Street". Notably "The Butler", which was listed by SAG, was shut out in the Golden Globes. Let the tweeting begin! Or is that twittering.

NYC Newspapers had a field day with the pics of President Obama during the Mandela affair laughing it up with attractive Danish PM Helle Thorning-Schmidt as Michelle scowls in the background. Maybe this is why the The WH Staff orders media to only use their pics. In case you missed them, the NY Daily news had the big head: "Michelle's beside Her-selfie over Flirty 'Bam'." And the NY Post said, "Flirting with Dane-ger" against a photo with an even more distraught first Lady.

There's no truth to the rumor that Michelle has sought out Hillary for ashtray throwing lessons.

Russia says it reserves the right to use Nuclear weapons in response to a conventiaonal attack against them. It is "the great equalizer", they say. So, I guess all of this talk on the big stages about nuclear disarmament is basically just talk. "You go first." "No, you go first" -- and on and on and on it goes. Nukes or worse are here to stay, it just depends on how many new countries get them over time whcih will determine how many years we have til obliteration..

Apparently home invasions in South Africa are pretty common. Bishop Tutu's home was burglarized during Mandela's services, and the word out was, "It was nothing. Happens all of the time."

I hate it when children become cynical about Santa.

The Answer:
I'm probably not a good market segment for Lulu, as it is affectionately called. They make clothing for people who sweat. Their big identifying item is Yoga clothing, but they also do well in running and workout togs. Their business is stagnent and Wall Street is worried. Maybe they should create a line of clothes that makes couch potatoes sweat -- much bigger market.

Lying breeds cynicism. No wonder Americans are so frustrated.

I want to believe everything they say.
But when it's night and they say "day",
I see their game, which I won't play.
So I tip my hat and go on my way.

I think the only way to survive in the future is to be a transgendering atheist on welfare. I'm glad I gave up cycnicism for advent.
