Just let it flow naturally.

Today's Tids Issue 3.147
Opening Stuff:

Bring back cities and towns.

I may be old fashion – hey, wait a minute I am an old fashioned, nostalgic, incurable romantic – but what does that have to do with common sense! One of my pet peeves is building anew on Green rolling fields with daisies fluttering in soft ocean breezes, and leaving blight in the cities and towns. Reusing in town and in city land is all about common sense, efficiency and economics. If you look around at what was new in green pastures you see new forms of blight and ruin in strip malls and even substantial industrial complexes. I will beat the drum to deaf ears for common sense reuse of land until my fingers petrify on the keys. Rehab. Reuse. Re-energize. Some may call it living in the past. I call it sensible growth.

And I always thought the “Buffet Rule” was about how to max-out at Golden Corral!

The great principle that made America what it became was the establishment of safeguards that put limits on the power of elected officials and government agencies. It is a principle that should override every other consideration that may suggest a reasonable departure from a significant basic precept. A truth that is self-evident.

The Question:
As good as Trader Joe’s is, there are just some products where the deals are better at other stores. Name 9.

Manchester United, the huge English soccer team and organization, is selling stock to the public, if you want to hitch a ride on the growth of Rest-of-the-World “Football”.

How significant is that Wisconsin Supreme Court decision on the law that ended collective bargaining for public employees! If that notion spreads across the country it could actually save RI from itself and make it once again a formidable economic power. That is, if the Legislature owned by Unions could understand it.

The recent forest fire in Washington state covered 400 square miles. Rhode island is 1,554 sq miles of which ocean and bays and inlets is 500 sq miles leaving 1,054 in land, some of which is islands. I think this puts into perspective for us the fearful plight of others in forest fire lands. Southeast Mass and much of RI are pine forests. So every day you think you are missing a day at the beach, thank God for rainy weather.

A  lot of Dems like to echo the words of Lois Lerner calling conservatives and especially Tea Party members -- simply the rebirth of American greatness and lees government --  calling them “Crazies and worse. But the issue here isn’t about LL’s freedom of speech but an apparent belief that would transition into using the power of one of the most intimidating government agencies on earth against honest citizens of the country.

There’s an organizations called “The Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport” which measures and reports on levels of gender and race involvement in the NCAA and other organizations. I think we have reached a point where measurement becomes irrelevant and the capability of people of all genders and races and anything else that defines one person from another is most paramount in selection process.

SC Justice Ginsburg told Katie Couric that “Male justices have a blind spot.” It could be easily argued that female justices also have a blind spot. It’s really an opinion that can be justified by wither side. .

If Valerie Harper had ever moved here, it would be Rhoda Island

The Answer:
Number one is Almond Butter, which is a huge seller at TJ’s but much cheaper at Wal-Mart. Organic milk is better at Whole Foods. Other than bananas, TJ’s prices on veggies an fruits aren’t that great. Shredded Mozzarella and some other cheeses are better elsewhere. Cheese not a TJ strong point. Organic Chicken is $2.00/lb less at Sam Walton’s place. 50 cents/lb less at Kroger. Hit Whole Foods for Greek Yogurt. Frozen Fruit at TJ is 3 times the cost of the same at Wal-Mart. Once again, W-M is the place to go for natural Detergents. This report was develop by a Trader Joe’s aficionado, and not the mentioned competition.

There are so many facts around that can dispute beliefs, that can make you happy or sad at any given moment. What trader Joe’s Loyalist would ever have thunk that Wal-mart, of all places, could be better? In other words, be happy in what you believe in, and don’t let the nitpickers get in the way.
