Scenes of a young boy running on a forest path.

Today's Tids Issue 3,334
Opening Stuff:

Are there enough walls remaining to hang all of the art of all of the artists coming from all of the schools these days? Let’s face it, art used to be the way societies preserved images of the times, or portrayed to the masses ideologies. Or, just created family “photo” albums. But today, we have selfies, hidden cameras, paparazzi and casual smart phone snappers taking pictures minute by minute of everything that exists or walks or talks. Yet art thrives as it is from the heart. It may may be even more important than ever, not s imply just for watching, but fro nurturing. Many of today’s skillful masters have an ability to reach out into communities and touch souls like no IPhone or Galaxy can. Trained artists can help children and adults feel love flowing through their fingertips into visuals of their most precious thoughts and emotions. It helps people, kids, reach beyond their misfortunes, economic or physical. Art is a healer. It opens stultified minds. It brings in light. In turns wary eyes into glorious smiles.

Beluga whales, normally of the Arctic Circle neighborhood, were seen romping around East Greenwich harbor yesterday. It’s the third day the frisky behemoths have been seen playing in our bountiful, food filled seas. Of course this is pretty far south for these smiling white whales. It must be a Polar Vortex thing.

The Question:
Which USA States are the most Catholic, most Christian? Bonus: What was the name of Darious Jucker’s band?

Jax is out, and it looks as though Nick will win over Clarke in a typical American idol end show duel between bland boy singers. Whatever happened to Joey Cook?

Note: In yesterday’s opening Tidlet, I had converted ½ of 1% to 0.0005 but as several keen eyed math majors noticed, I mindlessly added a % sign which would have made my hypothetical number of Islamic extremists in America 16,000 instead of 1.6 Million. But, everybody agreed that even in error, the sixteen K terrorists roaming the USA is very scary.

The “CSI” family of series have been generally solid, well directed shows. But the new one with plenty of promise, CSI Cyber, has turned into a bunch of gibbering, confusing actors, with Patricia Arquette the mother of discombobulation. (Actually there are too many of the new shows where it seems the group of actors have in their contracts demands for incessant, organized rotational chatter.) It turns off my brain. But, last night it didn’t do it fast enough, because I actually saw this scene: A bunch of FBI agents stanid in plain sight in an open field wearing jackets and bullet proof vests printed with “FBI” in 8 inch yellow letters stood looking at each other after the suspect had evaded their trap, “Do you think he made us?” Yikes.

The chief architect of the Obama admin, Clinton’s brightest guy in the room acolyte Rom Emmanuel, is doing a great job in Chicago. The city’s bond rating just dropped into “Junk” Status. Frankly Since LBJ, , it’s tough to blame the demise of a city on an incoming Mayo, unless they like the idea of Government coddling and free money. So much of inner big cities have become so depressed, so hopeless and so uniformed, that breaking out from the LBJ past is a task that may not be achievable without a civil war. Maybe I exaggerate…and maybe I don’t. What a breeding ground for IS.

By the way, what’s wrong with Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill? If you watched the Nightly news last night, you would have believed that the USofA had voted for Harriet Tubman to replace the ornery 7th President of the Country. If you saw the USA Today headline “America wants Tubman” you’d opine that it’s a fait accompli.  But in fact, it was an internet survey, a very large one, but still an unsampled internet survey sponsored by a woman’s group “Woman on 20’s” looking to petition the Obama appointed Treasurer to make the change.  Of course, such a vote is not a random sampling of America and the results of Internet polls are never taken seriously by serious pollsters. But in this case, and apparently with an agendized media on their side, emotions could outperform legitimacy, and the Prez seems in line with the idea of Tubman on the 20…which btw, goes faster than a quarter in my younger days.

But then, you can sell Americans just about anthing these days as many are often overwhelmed by the viral power of social media. The promotion surrounding the so called “Fight of the Century” removed over $500,000,000 from the wallets of Americans. They should have sent it to Chicago.

Here’s some NK creativity for you. The North Korean Minister of Defense was executed for insubordination by “Anti-aircraft fire”? Yes the former high ranking official was shot to shreds for sleeping during a patriotic rally. Actually, when I first read the headline I envisioned the Minister tied to a Kite, and then being fired upon in a other test of NK missile capability. It would have been a more interesting Tid.

There’s a lot of gruesome stuff in the news this morning. Maybe I should go to a museum and look at a peaceful piece of art.

Hillary is now being accused of additional questionable ethics doing deals for Boeing. The news report says that she acted like a Boeing sales person as she made her diplomatic rounds as Secretary of State. Now, I believe the SoS should be a US salesperson and help US companies make sales throughout the world. The “Yikes” part of the story here is that while the woman did her job well  helping Boeing sell $3.7 Billon to Russia which is nice for the USA – Boeing wrote a $900,000 check to the Clinton foundation. And within weeks had the hubby speaking for another $250K. Maybe she should send something to Chicago.

The Answer:
Rhode Island is the Most Catholic (41%) and most Christian (74 %) in the USA (22% Catholic; 71% Christian). On the Catholic list, NY, Mass, Conn and New Mexico are next in line. Bonus: Rucker’s old band was Hootie and the Blowfish. Always liked that name.

The cardiovascular system is a work of artery; and often vein.

See you all tomorrow.
