Give me kindness.

Today's Tids Issue 3,848
For Kind Hearts:

Me thinks there are too many views,
Often some that routinely abuse
And so many more without clues,
Have me and others cryin’ the blues.
So I’m lookin’ for a new court jester.
Not the kind that snidely pester,
Opening new wounds that fester.
No, more with the wisdom of Nestor.
Less burning words that often demean
And always shady, and far from clean.
No, I’m for comics just plain funny,
Who brighten our day crisp and sunny!
Not those who insult other’s goodness,
Or wallow in some obligatory lewdness,
Or ridicule to ignite moblike rudeness.
No get me out of anger and vulgarity
Get me back to genuine, simple hilarity!
Make me smile and feel only what’s good
To be kind to all; no matter what, as I should.
So how do I get to what I would choose?
It’s simple, just turn off the news!

This stock market does seem to be in a seriously scratch your had mode. It appears that bond yields are down and there is a noticeable move to safer blue chips. On the other hand, there are plenty of investors who don’t want to be left out on the growth tech stocks side. In other words, we are entering a transitional balancing act moment, where there seems to be room for upticks in techs, but with sense of fear welling up from below – grave world conflicts, too long at peaks, paradigm changes at old standbys like retail…and buy/sell excuse are becoming more trivial. So, keep your eyes open and temper your enthusiasm with wariness.

Seriously, when was the last time you ever learned anything new from a celebrity interview?

Check out some new photos, some with a touch of Spring, on the Tids web page worldviewetc.blogspot. (Note: I don’t type out the entire link as some servers, browsers or email services would look at this Tids as Spam.) In the big photo, the large building behind the daffodils is the first and oldest Quaker Meeting House in the US. Newport RI was a haven for persecuted religions. Also, many Quakers from Mass couldn’t take the Puritan’s antics and moved to Long Island, another safe harbor for the group. I have found a bunch of Quakers in my family past. Maybe that’s why I’m so silent.

The Question:
Why did the ottoman Empire Arise?

The Headlines:
--Trump Wins Release Of American Aid Worker Held In Egypt; President Issues New EO’s Relaxing Dodd-Frank.
--Stocks Take A Dip Waiting For French Election; Oil Prices Below 50; House Sales Surge,; “Bebe Shuttering All Stores.
--Paris Attack Could Affect Election; ISIS Claims responsibility.
--Critics Saying Schools Siding With Activists To Squelch Conservative Speech.
--Israel Says the Syria Still has Large Stocks Of Chemical Weapons.

I may have said this before, but “Fresh Off the Boat” produces at least 3 perfect chuckles in every 30-minute show.

And I still like smiling every time I see Gronk open that door to the White House press conference.

I wish I didn’t develop a serious case of cringe-itis every time The President of the USA stood up to speak.

Anti-death penalty people were probably cheering in the streets after stopping the rush to execute eight Arkansas prisoners convicted for ugly, inhuman crimes up to 27 years ago. Half were white and half were black. E media only showed the black faces) I read synopses of the crimes for all. 90% of the people brutally murdered and more were women. The mainly young victims are all still dead. Their relatives are sill mourning, feeling the voids. Yet the criminals are living, eating, seeing the morning sun ever day. “Rush to execute?” It’s been 25 to 27 years.

On a similar thought, the lawyer for Aaron Hernandez wants to make a case over whether or not it was a suicide. He is pretty good at creating conspiracies out of thin air. You remember Jose the lawyer who also go off Casey Anthony, and was said to have been paid with sexual favors. You have to give him credit, he has a knack for creating reasonable doubt for the juries, but he does not seem to be able to alter public opinion against clients. This one appears to be all about money. If Aaron was murdered, which Jose is proposing, it changes the dynamics of potential windfall income becoming available to pay his bills. I’m already tired of the mess. But with a news industry hungry for sensationalism and a lawyer ready to prolong the case and prop up the memory of a true dangerous Psychopath, we will be bombarded for a while. I won’t be reading or watching. It will dribble on as a yawner. That’s why so many people ask me why I take o many naps.

Really, I’m trying to be kind to media and lawyers and politicians.

Kids are generally just plain ole’ happy until they hit their early teens or get a smart phone. Maybe we could bottle children’s metabolic juices and inject adults as they walk under grey clouds. I strive to be happy like a child all of the time. Matter of fact, right after this, I’m writing my first letter to Santa for next December. I have always liked being first in line.

Where is it written that a President has to accomplish everything in  100 days?

I just got a new chair for my office. I hope it doesn’t affect my writing style. The new one is sleek modern. The old chair was early 19th century, maybe 18th. Maybe I will become more contemporary; make my grandchildren happy.

Lots of media critics are opining about the fate of Fox News. “Is there anybody out there wo could possibly recreate the ratings of O’Reilly,” they say. I say not a problem. Conservatives need a station they can listen to without a bottle of Tums nearby their favorite easy chair. The assault against media like Fox from the left will continue, because the left just hates opposing opinions. Take a look at colleges speaker confrontations. But Fox will remain a force and will continue to battle the bias found in just about every other news media.

Outside Media monitors are saying pretty clearly that NBC, CBS and ABC prefer to trump up the negative side of the president’s daily accomplishments. If it’s positive they generally don’t report on it. The numbers. One group, Media Tenor says that CBS and NBC only reported 3% of Trump news as positive. The second observer, Media Research Center, measured the last 3 months and found that 89% of all presidential reports were negative. They should just close the press room. The media hates Trump more than Billy Bush’s girlfriends. Their pre-anointed gal lost, and they are still crying.

In Rhode Island, the Unions don’t bother negotiating with companies any longer; these companies that have been bargained off to other states, that is. No, the Unions here bargain with the friends in the state legislature who then impose labor friendly mandates on beleaguered companies. All the talk from the leaders in the state about creating jobs seems a bit shallow. Even as they talk today with earnest faces, they introduced a new bill apparently looked upon kindly by the State Legislature which would mandate a full week of sick leave for all employees, requiring no excuses from the doctor. In other words, another week of vacation. Maybe this is part of the new make Pot Legal package – free paid days to stay hoe and get high.

BTW, the state continues to wrestle with the legal Pot question at a time now when they have yet to solve the ongoing Pot hole problem.

The TV show Designated Survivor program is looking exactly like a far-left Doctrine. It features ugly warlike Repubs and kind gentle understanding Dems. It’s not unlike “Homeland” which this year sought to be nice to Muslims and accuse US hard working intelligence agencies of plotting against the US. But then, that’s Hollywood. It’s like these programs are co-produced by Rosie O’Donnell and Barak Obama.

The Parking Lot will return next week. Honest. No more procrastination.

Reading Between the Liens Movie Reviews:
--I Can’t imagine that kids and adults alike won’t love the new Disney animal documentary “Born in China. It’s cuddly and informative with great photography of animals native to China.
--The Lost City of Z looks like something I could watch, as long as they don’t have too many snakes. It is a riveting true life adventure into the wilds of the Amazon Jungle. The photography is brilliant. The story is good and full of action and tension as English explorer Percy Fawcett seek to finds a mythical city of Z. It  is a story  of a man’s courage and passion, and the people he left behind. He mysteriously disappeared in 1925 after several subsequent trips with his sons.
--Unforgettable is a barely watchable domestic thriller. Oh, the cast is good and will hold  your attention, and maybe even overcome a cumbersome plot. A newly divorced woman finds that her ex and new wife are moving into her home, with her and her their child. Of course it’s odd. And of course jealousy rises, as does pathological evil.
--Some people will like Free Fire about an arms deal that goes wrong in many ways. Others will find  this action comedy a bit tedious. And anti-gun people will love it because deep down inside, that’s what it is all about, the absurdity of guns.
--Critics are quite luke-warm on The Promise, but audiences seem to love it. It is your basic love triangle film set in a politically simmering Ottoman Empire. An Armenian women is in love with a famous American photojournalist when an Armenian brilliant medical student steps into the picture. Jealousies arise. The American is here to expose political truth. As the Ottoman Empire crumbles in to war-torn chaos they must forget their conflicts and join forces to help others an for the own safety.

The Answer:
The Ottoman Empire which grew to cover much of th eatrn Asa, Northern Africa and Southern eastern Europe was a powerful world force centered in Constantinople. The Empire was the result of the “Great schism” between Latin (Catholic) Europe and The Byzantine Eastern Orthodox Europe. A coupe of early leaders and aggressive conquerors were Osman and Murad I. It is a festinating historical story.

Have a great Weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!
