Willow trees look beautiful mirrored in still ponds; until the strong winds of reality blow.

Today's Tids Issue 3,840
For Good, Deep Roots:

So, did you hear about the guy who thought it a good idea to attach to the front of his house a sign that said “Neighborhood Watch”? That is, until people kept coming to his door wanting to know what time it is.

Some people say you are what you eat. So, Ok, I’m a Cheeto. But, am I crunchy or puffy?

A strong West Coast woman writes to the Tids with heartfelt kudos for US Naval Academy Graduate and Commander of the Destroyer USS Porter, Commander Andria Slough. No, that is not a Tids-Typo. Andria is a woman, and effectively efficiently, calmly ran the operation of her ship which along with the USS Ross launched 59 tomahawks against the Syrian airbase. But why highlight this? What’s so unusual about women doing great things. Think of her as opposed to the crowd who while awaiting The Hill booed and ridiculed Nikke Haley who  was presenting to them real facts about a nasty world – which should be of concern to all. Over time people always see what is real versus unreasonable. Trees of thin roots will topple in slight breezes.

Signs of the times: Tesla has passed by General Motors market value, becoming the most valuable car builder. Shocking!

The Question:
Name the ten most popular Easter candies of today.

One person’s Dancin’ with Stars top three dancers of the night appear to be Rashad Jennings and Emma (Received A “10” to hoots and hollers). Nancy Kerrigan connected, really connected with several observers with her story and moved smoothly in a wonderful foxtrot. Simone Biles story reached the hearts of people and her dancing with Sasha was her best yet, These may not be the best of this season so far, but are making the most progress and could challenge in the final weeks..

On The Voice, Lauren Dusky remains one of my favorites. There were judge Bravos! for several, but they have drifted the back of my mind. Shirley Jones son Jack Cassidy lost to a dynamic Vanessa Fergusson who I thought Was a Little screechy at times. I was sorry to see Marley-ish Brando Royal leaving. There are enough uniquely good singers this year that the routine ho-hummers who have made it through in the past aren’t now.

While we’re On TV, Kiefer Sutherland in Designated Survive, looks more like Casper Milquetoast high school teacher than a leader of the free world. Actually I always DVR tis one, not just to race through the commercials but also Kiefer’s ideological speeches.

And, how about that Homeland finale. Zowie. Good thing they have signed on for two more years.

One of the biggest inhumanity problems in this world is in Venezuela where the Socialist Dictator has ruined the country, with  people unable to find food and other necessities of living. One of the problems is that leftists are winning elections in neighboring countries thus emboldening the greedy Madura to continue the typical socialist path to destruction. The Tids will be sending staff members the for further reporting. Can you say Cuba?

People who continue to deny that entering the USA illegally is unlawful, will eventually fade away because even in new technology America people understand that irrational thinking makes so little sense.

Let’s just say for purposes of argument that the doctor carried off the United Airlines plane was behaving peculiarly, demanding some action. The release of the phone video over social network would have only been part of the story, but the highly prejudiced evidence against the airline would have been chiseled into the minds of 10’s of millions before the entire story was revealed. Trial by cell Phone could become a serious legal problem in the years to come. There is a national crisis potential of too much furor over too little evidence. or worse manufactured evidence.

The same Tids reader and renown jokester who gave us our opening quip, also urges all of God’s children to become rebels and look forward to Mondays! Shout halleluiah!

It will be interesting to see what happens with the Tillerson Russia talks. I doubt if Tillerson will see Putin, simply because of diplomatic card playing. But, he is in a good spot. Putin is smart and wants the world  to know it. Playing with bad boy Assad has become an embarrassment for this wannabee world leader. I don’t believe he thinks WWIII is good idea. But, he is now in face saving mode, so sword rattling could be part of that; he and Iran could dump Syria as being more of a problem than a help. Or he may negotiate with them going forward, handing over Assad for his retention of the big Mediterranean Russian naval base in that country. Opinions will be cheap for a while.

When Lou Gerstner first arrived at the sprawling IBM headquarters in Armonk NY he immediately saw one example of why this overweight former model of efficiency and innovation was stumbling in a new era of the industry they invented. He found that employees of this fat and lethargic giant were using FedEx to deliver messages and papers from end of the massive building to the other. Hey, wait a minute, we’re a computer company, he would say. There’s got to be a better way.

Peter Drucker in Forbes today says always follow effective action with reflective inaction.

Gerstner used the term “Obsessive Perfectionism” during his prosecution of the old IBM empire. I love it. Get things done, he urged. Don’t study or engineer it to death. There are many company that found its death and final burial by overengineering products that often nobody wanted in the first place.

Frankly, I’m much more concerned about the unknown. Kim Jung Un. BTW, today is the 105th anniversary of the birth of the founder of NK, Kim’s granddad Kim Il Sung. Let’s Hope the grandstanding grandson doesn’t view missiles as roman candles. He might.

You have to wonder if the cloistered NK population was ever set free, if they would have any idea of what to do when having  to make up their own minds.

As we look around it could be that Obsessive Perfectionism could have been the culprit contributing to the decaying infrastructure. “Let’s bring in a consultant to study this.” Just do it.

All I want this coming Sunday is one of those giant statues from Easter Island…all in chocolate

The Answer:
#1 is Reese’s Peanut butter Eggs! I’m there. After that we have Cadbury’s mini eggs, Cadbury Crème Egg, Chocolate Lindt Gold Bunny, Easter Pastel M7M’s, Cadbury Caramel Egg, Hershey’s Solid Egg, Snickers Egg, Jelly belly’s and Nestle Butterfinger NestEggs. We in the older days got the same things without the band names. And of course, Peeps Too. Peeps are #12 on this list, and don’t come with brand names!!

See you tomorrow. Gotta run.
