NTD* Help!

Today's Tids Issue 3,965
For Trying:

No emails are friendlier than those from criminals wanting to hack into your computer and life. It’s nice to have friends when getting old. Take the “r” out of friend and you have fiend.

I would have to say in all honesty that any accomplishments I may have made during my life came from what I learned reading the book, “The Little Engine That Could.’ The rest of my education was basically fluff.

I have developed a new business plan for my next career: Writing poems for headstones. I think society has to get a little more lyrical, with remembrances more personal. Now, headstones look like they were written by bureaucrats in City Halls. The poems don’t have to be long, because memories of love are concise: “I will never forget my beautiful wife, she was the soul of my lackluster life”. Or “My Husband, a great man now thoroughly dead. He was very good if he did what I said.” I’m going to set a meeting for a stone carver tomorrow.

Today is *National Taco Day. That’s good because there will be fewer people in my favorite fried chicken place.

The Question:
Who were in the cast of the old TV program, “Petticoat Junction”? Ad for those a bit younger. Who were in the original cast of NCIS?

Do models have to go to post career modeling school to relearn walking like regular people?

People are loving the sleek new 2018 Ford Mustang.

If you don’t think wars will be different in years to come, think again. Russia has been caught hacking into Smart Phones of US NATO Officers. Apparently battle or strategy tactics are stored or can be delivered instantly to commander’s phones. Perhaps the next greatest generation of US war heroes will be guys and gals, slightly overweight, sitting in dark rooms amidst Cheeto and potato chip bags, but earnestly attacking and preventing cyber counterattacks.

Legislators in Massachusetts are trying to pass a targeted Millionaires tax where all of the money will benefit teachers and construction unions. If they happen to pass that monster -- it is projected to produce $2 Billion -- they are in danger of becoming Rhode Island.

This Catalonian thing tells you one thing, people will never stop trying to better their own destinies. All it takes is a little courage.

I thought TV mystery programs of the past were great entertainment; programs where the clues and the solving of the crimes were the primary focus – like Murder She Wrote, Hart to Hart, Andy Griffith’s Matlock and several on PBS. Today’s shows are more about how gruesome an act they can portray, how weird a killer is or some interlocking social issue They all seem to look a little darker, and actually can be kind of depressing. I don’t like depression.

Trump is having the chance to be among the most empathetic Presidents in US history. But he has a couple of problems. One is getting beyond his own ego and paranoia. And two is the left, who with their friends in the press, will always find something wrong with anything he does.

Texas HS girls have to go to gyms just build up enough strength to wear corsages to Friday Night Lights’ football games. Yes, as people bow before the altar of lavish expenditure in this new competitive world, a corsage in Texas can weigh up to 20 pounds, and cost a months’ salary at McDonald’s. Yikes!

Tillerson maybe too smart for Trump to have him hanging around.

I also like Niki Haley. I hope both of them can hang on to their political credibility after these Admin jobs.

You may have noticed an absence of The Voice reviews and recaps. Actually, I’m having trouble loving many of the singers so far. Is it because they are singing too much new stuff unfamiliar to these older ears, or is it that every singer has finally reached a level of sameness. Maybe on Monday Madison Agen and Noah Mac brought me something to consider, and Moriah Formica made me sit up and watch. Certainly though, I’ll be thinking of puns for Formica’s last name. On Tuesday, I’m picking Emily Luther as the standout with a little appreciation for Anthony Alexander and Karli Webster. Over all, my impression is -- too much coach antics.

The Answer:
Edgar Buchanan as Uncle Joe Carson and Linda Henning as Betty Jo Bradley appeared in all 222 episodes of this popular comedy. The rest of the Bradley women were Bea Benaderet, Lori Saunders and Meredith MacRae. Other funny guys were Frank Cady as Sam Drucker, Rufe Davis as Floyd Smoot, Mike Minor as Steve Elliot and Smiley Burnette as Charley Pratt. For NCIS, the 2003 originals were Mark Harman, Pauley Parrette, David McCallum, Sean Murray, Michael Weatherly, Sasha Alexander, Pancho Demmings, Jessica Steen. In my readings for this I found that Pauley is definitely leaving the show after this year.

Personally, I like enchiladas, and in particular shrimp enchiladas. Along with an occasional taco, that is all I have ever eaten in a Mexican restaurant. That is, when I go to one, which is seldom. So, Happy NTD everybody.
