The enemy grows stronger. Did we forget?

Today's Tids Issue 3,420
Opening Stuff:

I could never have imagined what I saw that morning on a September eleventh, Two Oh Oh One. The memories of bodies falling and searing flames engulfing; finally the horror, the crumbling of buildings strong and people loved into masses of rubble and human flesh. My heart will ache forever and I will never forget thousands of people I never knew.

One of the tragedies of the 911 attacks on America were the Americans who emerged from the clouds of smoke looking to blame their neighbors as causing the foreign invading murderers to kill. People willing to disregard the black in the hearts of an avowed enemy that hates. A group of American dividers who continue to try to enable this group of Muslims with no conscience, no heart, no love for the spirit of independent people. Yet, as the sky blackened, some Americans arose to divide. We see it today, fourteen years later, as an enemy of global love grows stronger, and US freedoms are diminished.

All I would do today is play patriotic songs and sacred hymns.

The Question:
What were the death tolls at each of the 911 Locations? Bonus: name the ten most productive double play combinations in baseball history.

The Headlines:
--America Stops To Remember.
--Russia Warns US To Talk About Syria To Avid Unintended Incidents.
--Wall Street Awaits Yellen’s Rate Decision Next Week; Drum Beat To Hold Steady Gets Louder.
--Perry Leaves Repub Race.
--Wild Fires Causing 2,700 To Leave California Town.
--84 Dead In India Gas Explosion; 100 Dead In Saudi Crane Collapse.

Governor Perry of Texas is one of those Republicans Dems love to ridicule, demean. Yet, I listened to his speech yesterday and heard the words of a man who has accomplished in Texas what needs to be accomplished at the Federal Level. I’d vote for Perry. He has a good sense of balance and experience. It’s too bad that he eastern elite who don’t like southern accents don’t get it. America loses a lot through the arrogance of thre press.

Saying that the Six cops accused of murdering Freddie Gray can get a fair trial in Baltimore is as believable as Roger Goodell saying that his bumbling the Deflategate caper had nothing to do with his decision not show up for the opening of the NFL Season in the Patriot’s Gillette Stadium.

By the way, did you see where Freddie Gray’s family got $6.4 Million?  My retirement program needs a ride in a paddy wagon.

How about that Trump who is beginning to look Hillaryesque with each succeeding excuse for his incredibly poor taste comment on Carley’s face. The last one with him saying “It’s just the entertainer in me” was a doozy and was LOL as he went on to explain it. Bring back Rick Perry.

Middle East Vigilance, Department:
As mentioned earlier, a lot of people, some almost immediately after 911, wanted to blame Americans for inciting the al-Qaida to murder nearly 3,000 neighbors. Some would hope America does forget and trun its eyes to loving Muslims. And now we have the report that the White House Adman had through intermediaries pressured intel analysts to rewrite reports to show ISIS weaker than it was. “It (the report)  saying that ISIS was winning did not conform to the White House narrative.” Why would a government whose only task is to protect citizens want to soften a threat? Have the people let down their guard?

Oh yeah, and a couple University of Michigan alums were irate that the Tids left off the best QB answer, the great Detroit Lion Bobby Laine. Tomorrow I’ll probably include the U of Mich fight song in their honor.

The Answer:
There were 2,977 non-hijacker deaths that infamous day. 246 were on the passenger planes. 2,606 were in the Trade Center buildings or first responders. 125 were at the Pentagon. Of the 246 passengers on planes, 163 were on the plane that crashed and is now memorialized in Schwenksville Pa. Several of that 163 stopped what may have been 1000’s of more deaths in probably Washington DC. Bonus: the Tigers Alex Trammel and Lou Whitaker were number on in all time double plays. Next was Brooklyn’s Pee Wee Reese and Jackie Robinson, followed by Phillies Jimmy Rollins-Chase Utley, Reds Dave Conception-Joe Morgan, Tigers Billy Rogell-Charlie Gehringer, Pirates Honus Wagner-Claude Ritchey, Cubs Joe Tinker-Johnny Evers, A’s Jack Berry-Eddie Collins, The YKWIM’s Derek Jeter- Robinson Cano and the White Sox great Louis Aparicio and Nellie Fix.

Hi, the Tids will be back on its regular schedule Monday morning. We’ll have some more observations of the explains, accomplishments and foibles of man, and of course follow Jeremiah as he begins  his perilous journey to hopefully meet Elizabeth as King Phillip’s war drumbeats agitate the peace..

It’s time to end a day of sadness and remembrance:
