Shitake, Portobello, Cremini on the horizon?

Today's Tids Issue 3,955
For Escapism:

One of my favorite parts of any NFL football game is listening to the game wrap-up on the radio, the takes on the good and the bad; joining in the exultation over a good win. It is always especially interesting after a gem like yesterday’s Pats game that was won by our team, a team out played most of the day. I have loved football since the days of my very young life. I watched wide eyed as the “Big Guys” in the neighborhood played for hours, and I waited patiently until a couple of the older guys would come over and ask me to join in their street games. I spent most of every fall afternoon watching the High School players practice, with a dream in my heart that one day it would be me. That day came, and I played through high school and college. Football has always been my get always from the world activity. But, alas no more.

Of course, we might awaken in the not so distinct future to images of mushroom clouds; we would know the rhetoric had gone too far.

A skunk breeder is one of phew words.

Lots of new worries are more manufactured opinions than anything else. To me one of the growing continuous real concerns are cyber-attacks, which now seem to occur on a daily basis.

People today are fascinated by many an ancient grain like Quinoa or, Frekeh, Faro, Kamut, Bulgur, Teff, Amaranth, Millet…and the list goes on. I have been loving grains all my life, primarily rice, that’s spelled r-i-c-e. And I expect I would also enjoy all of these culturally respected grains the same way I have always enjoyed rice.  – topped with rich creamy gravy! Don’t be calling this deplorable dotard a dinosaur!

The Question:
A list has been compiled called: “Clichés and stereotypes that bother millennials most”. Name the top five>

Quadruple Oops!! Was Friday/Saturday’s delayed Tid a lexiconic mess or what. Sorry folks, I kind of liked the thoughts in my head, but once again my fingers didn’t get the message clearly. Now I know some people write here to say they were feeling the message and didn’t sense the vulgar grammatical interruptions. No question, they were pretty obtuse Saturday, and I heard from many people. Actually, several were more interested in my sending them pictures of “Bra Glstenting Lakes”. Ouch!

BTW, despite the headlines, I believe that overall blacks and whites are closer together in this country than the left and the right.

Now that the Knicks Carmello Anthony has Joined the great Russell Westbrook and Paul George on the Oklahoma Thunder, the big question becomes: Who will pass up a shot for the good of the team?

Billy Donavan has his hands full.

One of the sadder aspects of the Tennessee Church shooting over the weekend is that many people were holding their breaths hoping the victims were white, and that this incident by probably someone deranged would not escalate into another reason for more rioting. That’s how cynical this nation has become. Fortunately, this small church outside Nashville was open to all races and types of people and the shooter was Sudanese. And it was tragedy, a real tragedy of a new society that could happen anywhere.

The FedEx championship lived up to the press clippings. It was touch and go down the stretch with several golfers gaining the top only to fall along the wayside. In the end as you probably know was another young phenom was discovered, Xander Schauffele. He won “The Trophy”, $3.6 mil and Rookie of the year honors. Justin Thomas, the current new wunderkind of the moment champion for tomorrow, won “The Cup” $11.5 Mil and The Player of the Year honors.

The way things are going, Trump will shortly have no friends in high places to help him accomplish anything. Personally, I believe that McCain is more against the person Trump than he is against considering the possibilities of healthcare improvement. Now that Trump has put NFL owners in a box, and insulted one of the most respected basketball players, how does he bridge the so-called “racial gap” through sports. Kelly must be going crazy, or else he too believes the Generals can fix anything. (For the record, I am 100% against kneeling at during the anthem – no grey area at all.) While Trump continues to put people in corners, surprisingly his favorability ratings are climbing. That means that while the celebs and people with publicists get the headlines, the people in out of the way places are liking his presidential behavior in situations like Houston and Florida and standing up against world tyrants. There is a world of difference between cocktail parties and beer halls.

With soccer growing rapidly in the USA and fewer and fewer people playing football in the little leagues and High School and the scare over head injuries, we may be seeing a grand old game which may have peaked. Now being politicized, it may also over time, kill the golden pigskin

I talked to a pretty smart guy yesterday who is a big advocate of nuclear energy. He had been a nuclear scientist for most of his life and now he gives talks on nuclear security. “Nuclear security?” He says you can’t operate steel mills and desalinization plants with windmills. He walks the walk too, as he has written letter to our local environmentalist Senator who in turn has, he said, initiated legislation in Congress hat would reignite nuke plant development.

Some people today live in their own little insular world, only to emerge from time to time to jump on a bandwagon passing by. And only know that the music sounded good.

It’s becoming clear that one Trump campaign promise that’s slipping rapidly from his grasp is that of unifying America. Part of the problem could be his ill-conceived rhetoric, but a greater overriding issue is the simple fact that bureaucrats, politicians, media and urban elitists just don’t want an outsider, who seems to appeal to the unspoken masses, to succeed. They all like warm and fuzzy swamp creatures.

Taking a knee in football used to mean letting the clock wind down.

You have to wonder exactly which flag the NFL players would prefer to respect.

If all credit or debit payments were tied solely to fingerprint scanning, then identity theft would be a thing of the past

GE seems to be selling off companies faster than they are developing new revenue sources. Some body in this country has to make stuff bigger than an app.  Is US biz going to cede this to the rest of the world?

It is expected that China will go heavy into nuclear power, and leave PC America in its wake.

One of the great things about golf versus many other sports, is that if you don’t earn it, you don’t get the dough. (You can put tennis and Nascar in that category too.)

The Answer: 1. They are entitled brats who don’t work hard. 2. They have everything handed to them. 3. They don’t follow directions at work. 4. They want trophies for participation. 5. They don’t like criticism. 6. They don’t respect older generations. 7. They are overly sensitive and politically correct. 8. They have no job loyalty. 9. Hey have easier lives that older generations. 10. They are fiscally irresponsible. Like everything else that seems to get grouped these days, it really boils down on who you are.

I have never seen the logic of grouping entire generations of people as one.

By the way, Happy Autumn.
