Common Nonsense.

Today's Tids Issue 3,988
For Hypotheticality:

I should never use long words when writing to people smarter than I. I have been embarrassed many times due to my misunderstanding of subtle meanings. Sometimes I sense the phonetics of a word to the point that I truly feel that it means something that it isn’t. Life is tough for poets with bad grammar.

The banning of plastic bags around here began yesterday. Basically, it is a battle won in some activist’s war against common sense. Take for instance, “Tree huggers’, who are now must endure this encouragement of the elimination of more trees for paper bags to fuel somebody else’s anger against plastic. And then, there is the selfishness of coastal people wanting to save oceans while those living in forested lands must watch their beloved greenery disappear before their loving eyes. No wonder nobody likes anybody anymore.

From time to time I face an inconsistency, known only to cyber-gremlins in the sky, where you may be advertently dropped form a mailing list for your favorite daily, sometimes morning, illumination. It may have also just gone to spam. Either way, if it is missing, you can always find the sensible view of the universe at worldviewetc.blogspot.com

Historically, most civilized people have refrained from making phone calls during other people’s dinner times or other fragile times like for instance too early in the morning. People just knew that other people had lives too. But, cell phone users expect everybody to have their cell phones on and ready to talk no matter wherever a person is or whatever they may be doing. Manners should still be the main default option in human activity regardless of what tech seems to encourage us to do.

Several states were delighted by the solar eclipse.

The Question:
Without question, the Trump victory was surely one of, if not the biggest presidential upset of all time. So as we come up upon that anniversary of that victory that has the left jumping off cliffs, name three others in that category, if there are three.

The Headlines:
--NYC Killers Says He Felt Good About His Accomplishments.
--Wall Street Pondering The Effects Of The new Tax Plan; Stocks Meandering.

A headline I saw from a New York paper this morning actually said, “Those killed on the bike path show the diversity of NYC.” Say what? Somebody is worrying about highlighting that individual-abusive term diversity when people are stunned, grieving…wondering where their innocent lives have gone. Someday we gotta stop with the ideological objectives, and just be humans for a change.

Another good week last week brought the Tids Pickers to 80-39 (67%) This week has a couple of trap games which could stall the gutsy comeback of those slaving in the pick room below. One game, Dallas vs. KC needs more info on Ezekiel which now won’t be available until Friday. I’m picking KC without Elliot and Dallas with the super back. So, that’s my hedge for the week. Tonight, is one tough game as the Jets have been very competitive, but I believe that the Bills are getting closed to being the real thing. I go Bills. Tennessee has been disappointing and Flaco is back for Sunday. Ravens to win. I like New Orleans over TB, the Iggles over Broncs and Houston Over Indy. The Giants appear woeful and LA Rams are a comer. I have to pick the Rams, although this could be an upset.  I like Jax over Cinn, and Oakland over a beleaguered Miami. Atlanta and Carolina will be a tussle. I’m out on a limb with the Panthers. Garopolo won’t be ready yet in SF, so I’m picking Arizona in a close game among these two losers. Seattle looks like it is waking up, but the Skins will be tough. Seahawks to win. Green Bay and Detroit are always a war. I’m flipping a coin and picking the Lions over the Pack. Not a Pack Picker this week.

“The End of Crisis Stimulus is Over”. Is that mean that our esteemed Wall Street denizens will have to do it on their own? I hope they do it better than they did the last time.

I’m finding that many of those heralded “older” US celebs and dignitaries are younger than I. That is quite disappointing.

Personally, I could never understand why so many were so excited about closing Gitmo. Was it just to annoy other good Americans they didn’t like?

GE reaches 52 week low. Alibaba reaches 52 week high. Things they are achanging.

In the aftermath of tragedies like the barbaric assault upon NYC innocents, industrious journalists tend to pursue stories that aren’t there or matter little in the grand scheme of human understanding.

It has been noted by many that NBC focusing on an unsubstantiated story about US Muslims fearing a backlash was a travesty. Rather said a variety of critics including your basic USA human beings, the network should be focusing on those brutally murdered. But, NBC wasn’t the only ones leaping to the microphones to warn Americans about being not being nice to Muslims as their first thoughts. NY authorities were right there too, before the blood was washed from the streets.

“Might be…” is the favorite phrase of journalists reporting on some perceived climate activity cause of a natural disaster. Check it out. “Frogs croaking louder due to more shallow ponds ‘might have been’ cause of latest Northeast storm.”

The Answer:
Actually, the Trump upset may not have been as big as in 1948 when Truman beating the so-call prohibitive favorite, Thomas E., Dewey. The list I am using says Obamaupsetting the Clinton machineis #2. Next is the defeat of Gore By Bush in Florida.  #4 was John Quency Admas defeating Andrew Jackson. Adams had byt 31% ofrhe Vote versus Hacksons’ 41%. But, with two other candiates inthat race. JQA wonthe elctroal college thorugh the efforts fo 4thlace finisher Henry Caly whwas Speker of the Hosue and the ultimate control;er of the college. HC was made Secretary of Stae by JQA. Next is James Polk of Martin van Buren. At # 6. A lot were surprised by reign coming form way behind in the polls to beat Jimmy C. Everybody tough Nixon was tehlikelyb successor to the Oval Office unntnil the Catholic Kennedy knocked out the Clemente Kid. Note, this list was developed just efore the Hell’ Trump run-off.

I am now turnignooff my se=cell phone.
