Diversity is a charade.

Today's Tids Issue 4,199
For Individuals:

Mandates for diversity segregate people into racial, ethical, gender groups or other demographic subdivisions as opposed to the more desirable effects from looking at all people as individuals with qualities.

One of the oldest English words, according to the Oxford Dictionary, is L-o-v-e. Who doesn’t want to be loved, and who doesn’t want to express that special feeling to others.

There is little worse than a decaying city trying to recreate a past that will never return.

Kevin Spacey released a new move this weekend called “Billionaires Boys Club”. The total box office take was $126.00. No, that is not a typo. This means that at $12 buck a ticket, about 10 people needed a place that had air conditioning. When the evil fall, they disappear.

Since this Tids is a little about grouping people indiscriminately over their individuality, how would you like to see how people are classified by musical tastes versus income? #1 is classical where the average income is $114,000. Next is Electronic - $92K, Rap/Hip-Hop - $69K, 80’s/90’s - $67K, Hard Rock - $65K, Pop/Top 40 - $61K and Country $58K. Huh. I like Country and Classical. Whoa. Perhaps a bigger factor in this study is location on the map. Rural areas typically have lower average incomes, while urban is typically much higher. Beware of research that groups.

(Synonyms for Charade: Deception, Make Believe, Parody, Pretension, Fake, Pretentiousness, Farce, Put On, Trick.)

The Question:
The interminable college football season begins shortly. Who among all of those grandly displayed in the thousands of games on TV are considered the preseason best of the year? Bonus: How many women are in the Amazon upper management elite group?

I always enjoy Prokofiev’s Symphony #1 Opus 25 “The Classical”. Does that mean I’m colluding with the Russians?

I saw a trailer yesterday for a new movie version of the old story - Robin Hood. It appears that the movie is timed for release in early November just before the elections. The script as presented basically appears to be justifying stealing from the rich to give to the poor. Could it be that the Hollywood left sees it as a last-ditch promotion to push across the progressive candidates? Or, am I just one more deplorable looking for a conspiracy?

I think that “Small” is now dominating the sub caverns of the state’s leaders when it comes to thinking. At the end of least week, the state lost their AAA baseball team, which could have been retained for a song, and More importantly pumped life into a city that is worn out. I also see the same shortsightedness in a controversary over building a dramatic modern skyscraper. Now Providence is a beautiful city with many buildings in the over 200 years old age bracket, Now I am a preservationist with the best   of them. But there is more life ahead than behind, and somebody needs to plan for a contemporary tomorrow. Some of the most amazing, futuristic appearing cities are in regions s that many self-contented Americans may still think of as rice paddies – Take a look at Shanghai, Singapore for instance. Look at London and Paris, certainly beautiful cities that have retained their past magnificently while letting architects’ imaginations go brilliantly crazy. Everything is about balance. Rejecting in favor of a past is possibly rejecting chance for a competitive future.

“The changing of the guard has been a regular occurrence since the turnoff the sentry”.

I’d like to bring more diversity into my home, but vegetarians have a problem watching me eat Cheetos. Disgusting.

Some people in Massachusetts want to call their newly acquired Triple A baseball Team, formerly RI’s Pawsox, the “WooSox”. In RI I am calling them the “Woe-is-Me-Sox”

I saw a piece about a new technology of three screen theaters being the salvation of fading movie theater sales. What I’m hearing is that we are going to give up plots for special effects.

The way I see it, a growing number of Repubs, both politicians and human beings, are trying to distance themselves from Trump the Man, but not most of his policies.

Who is looking to suck the best of fun out of the last week to ten days of freedom – kids or teachers? Well if I pick either one, I would be wrong, because grouping people is just flat out inappropriate. Surprise, surprise, many kids love to go to school because they see the benefits of, and enjoy learning. Some teachers just want to get by, avoid the hassle, but most are dedicated to teaching all from the most intelligent to those who need special attention. The worst words in the English language are “Always” and “Never”, because human tendencies should never be classified in absolute terms.

Some people think fun in the summer is camping out in a tent in a damp forest eating s’mores. Some people think summer fun is lounging in an A/C luxury motel room with little chocolates by a turned-down bed. Now, those are differences.

The Answer:
Clemson is picked as #1 in the majority of polls. Next as usual is Alabama, (also picked number 1 in a couple). Following Is Wisconsin, Washington, Ohio State (Depending on Urban developments), Georgia, Oklahoma, TCU, Penn State and Miami. #11 is Auburn (Last year’s spoiler) followed at #12 by Stanford, Michigan, Boise State and Michigan State. Get your Pom-Poms. Bonus: Most people look at the big tech companies as champions of equality, diversity and for all around so-called liberal policies. There is one woman among 18 in Jeff Bezos inner circle. Say what? She is Beth Galetti, a talented engineering graduate of Lehigh University. I learned this little nugget from my Alumni magazine which also featured the 54-year-old CEO of Deloitte, Kathy Englebert, and the 44-year-old President of the New York Stock Exchange, Stacey Cunningham. The issue also featured a consistently winning women’s softball program. The women execs hailed their years at Lehigh as freedom releasing. Yes, this is a blatant attempt by an alum to entice parents and grandparents to direct their girls towards learning in a great intellectual and cultural environment.  BTW, Beth Galetti will be Amazon’s leader along with reps from Berkshire-Hathaway and JP Morgan in the joint development of a new Healthcare system. You may have read about it.

See, editors can be biased!

Thanks to “Jumble” for Pun=ishing my mind.
