Investigate or legislate

Today's Tids Issue 4,252
Who knows what the new day brings:

Well, it’s over. It wasn’t quite the blue wave first forecast. Dems got the house, but many of the newbies are of the moderate persuasion. The Prez called Nancy to say contgrats and more, and this morning McConnell talked with her about possible mutual efforts, like the budget and infrastructure. Most all of the angry young Dem stars didn’t make the cut, so the demands to be crazy may become muted as Dems find that they can gain more popularity by helping getting things done, and tempering hysteria. But then, it’s politics, and you know politics.

I think I know why smart phone manufacturers are spending so much time developing and promoting the new waterproof phones. It has something to do with men standing over urinals.  Oops.

I think it is time for a new book of Golfer’s cliches.

The Question:
Viewers have voted their favorite TV shows returning in 2019. Most of them are shows with long awaited finales or cancelled shows that have been renewed by popular demand. What are the Top Ten?

The Headlines:
--Wall Street Likes Split Congress; Market Solid All Moring.
--Trump Backs Pelosi For House Speaker.
--Voters Expand Repub Senate Majority; Arizona And Montana Senate Races Still Too Close To Call; House Margin Still Being Decided By Many Close Races (Currently Satnavs at 220 Dems;193 Repubs).
--Expect Trump To Move Faster On Getting China Deal.
--Pompeo Talks With NK Postponed.
--Wells-Fargo Admits 500 Families Lost Their Homes Due To Calculation Error; Prudential No Longer Deemed “Too Bog To Fail”; Goldman Sachs Quietly Sending Representatives To Saudi Conference Slammed By Their CEO.

Let me see if I have this right. With the changeover in the House, it is now Maxine Waters Against Goldman Sachs.

The blue wave crested early.

A ticket for a Villanova Basketball game can now cost up to $350! The National Champion’s new on-campus arena is open and it looks more like a professional operation than college kids with pom-poms. And that includes new food services that will pinch Daddy’s and Mommy’s pocketbook.

Repub voting in RI is a classic protest vote.

It appears, according to the poll watchers, that all of the Democrat so-called “Rock Stars” lost in their races. The People didn’t seem to want the outrageous side in the house. That’s a good sign for all – Dems being happier with their Reps being moderate.

The real elephant in the room is DT Trump’s income taxes.

Last night Colbert called for heavy investigations of Trump. I guess he is speaking for the other late night occasionally funny people who need fresh material.  And, why would, “Colbert Calls For Trump Investigation” be a national headline in the first place.

BYW, yesterday NBC dumped Alex Baldwin from his Talk show which had ratings so low that the night janitor kept on sweeping up and tossing them into the trash bin.

Will “The Caravan” roll back down south now that election is over? Or will they just look for a bed in Mexico City?

NFL Football on NBC last Sunday clobbered the rest of the TV shows in ratings. Second was the over run of the Fox late afternoon NFL game and Micky Mouse took third…just in case you are interested in where America’s heads are at these days.

The Answer:
#1 is Game of Thrones followed by Stranger Things. The rest in order are Brooklyn Ninety-Nine, Big Little Lies, True Detective, Lucifer, Peaky Blinders, Westworld, Better Call Saul and ad 13 Reasons Why. Now, most of these are not on my Top Ten list, but its nice to see what other people are thinking, It helps you understand why everybody doesn’t vote or view the world exactly the same way.

It is amazing how anticlimactic last night was considering the cacophony of the previous nine or so months. It’s over and now we have to live with what hath been wrought and hope there can be more amelioration than hysterical overreaction.
