Retraction Day

Today's Tids Issue 4.351
Like Alice's Rabbit:

Baywatch star Pamela Anderson is calling for an end to Reality Show TV. She calls it an “Epidemic of ugliness”. And it is quite contagious infecting many who think that what goes in staged reality is real life.

Do you know what always bothers me? It’s stories about hooligans destroying cemeteries, turning over stones; either from malice or for fun.

A local college basketball player is changing colleges to get more playing time. On leaving he thanked his coaches, and the school for “For giving me a free education” How unique. An athlete who actually appreciates the value of a scholarship; who knows that but 30 or so of the multi thousands playing big time basketball will make it down that road.

Regardless for the headlines, I believe that for every kid doing something stupid there are at least 25 who are good hearted, and striving to contribute to a better society.

Duke U is repaying the federal Government $112 Million After it was discovered they faked a research project with the sole intent to rob Taxpayers. Why isn’t somebody going to jail? Are they too big to fail? Say it isn’t so Mike K?

The Question:
What else did Jennifer Grey do in addition to the film that brought her to fame. And, what was that film, anyhow?

The Headlines:
--Markets Lower; Yellen Says Yield Curve May Be Just Signaling Call for Lower Rates, Not Recession; Housing Starts Fall.
--Apple Unveils Streaming Service.
--EU Just Posed New Copyright Laws That Big Tech Hates.
--McConnell To Out New Green Deal To Vote; Dems Forced To Go On Reword.
--Stormy Lawyer Avenetti Indicted For General All Around Sleaziness.
--Keith Richards Reveals He Really Hates Mick Jaggar.

In the two hours of The Voice last night there was approximately abot 12 minutes of singing.  Thank God for DVR.

If you like to analyze politics without ideological interference, pure and simple, there is nothing better than watching the Dems scramble for 2020, just as we had Repubs doing the same for 2016. At the moment, the main strategies of these candidates is trying to find the best left, right or middle position to love, or run away from. A Yahoo Financial/Political analyst named Rick Newman has put out comprehensive ranking of the Candidates (Including Biden) as to where he sees their true beliefs. The chart ranks the 16 on Health Care, Taxes, Trade And Climate, on a scale of 0 to 12, with 0-4 being Socialist and 12 being capitalist. Bernie Sanders is #4, the most socialist. But, right next to him is Elizabeth “I’m a Capitalist” Warren at #5. At # 6 we have Kamala Harris, Tulsi Gabbard and Cory Booker. Kristen Gillibrand and Julian Castro are at #7. At #8 are Andrew Yang, Beto and Amy Klobuchar. At #9 is Pete Buttigieg and Joe Biden. The most capitalist are Jay Inslee, John Delaney and John “I am not a Capitalist” Hickenlooper. So, no matter what they say, that’s who they are, at least according to one knowledgeable unbiased source.

AAA is seriously concerned about Marijuana and driving, especially among young people. Real evidence shows clearly that Pot is the cause of many accidents. As younger people grow older and alcohol consuming older people move on from life, Pot maybe the largest cause of accidents and deaths on the road. Intestinally, when teens are asked about how Marijuana affects their driving, the common answer from almost all is they think they are better drivers. High on Pot is all about dreams.

A lot of observers are saying that President trump is going to do something really, really big, after the report. Hang on to your seats.

Did you ever watch an airhead celeb talking about an issue that he or she thinks is on everybody mind, but when asked questions about the guts of the topic it becomes obvious that he or she hasn’t a clue about what she or he is ranting.

The big financial news was about Apple’s new direction. The company is in a tight race for phone sales, and a couple of Asian companies are leading that race worldwide. Domestic sales are stagnant because most can’t really see the differences in picture improvement and other techno advances. So, they are hanging onto phones longer. Apple decided to become a late entry into the crowded streaming race, which btw, just added another big player in Disney. So, we will see. A lot consumers will like it, especially Mac and Apple lovers. I think Wall Street is lukewarm. Oh, they wanted it to be hot. I looked at the offerings proposed by Apple’s super star line up – Oprah, Spielberg, Anniston and others, and I was saying, I’d never watch this stuff. Will they be offering star’s favorite projects or will they give us new creative stuff like Amazon and Netflix. Time will tell. But, this is the big idea form Apple this year. We’ll see. They have the cash.

John O. Brennen former head of the CIA who damned Trump as treasonous based on “his inner knowledge” of what’s really happening, has come out meekly saying in the post M-Rreport world of “Experts”, “I don’t know if I received bad information.” He is just one of dozens coming out now with mea culpa’s, or trying to redirect the story. As one average US citizen said, What I mainly got out of the Russia investigation was the “Revelation about Washington; the lies, dirty political games, corrupt officials and disregard for laws and individual rights”.

Enron Chief deceptor Jeffery Skilling is leaving jail. It is said he will pursue a new venture in “Block Chains” Figures. Only a few can understand it.

The Answer:
Jennifer Grey’s big film was “Dirty Dancing” with Patrick Swazey. She was also known for her role in “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”. Her debut film was ”Reckless”, and her first starring venture was in “The Red Dawn.”

Spectacular day! Enjoy it.
