The Party of No.

Today's Tids Issue 2,066
Opening Stuff:
Has there ever been a time than now in America , when we needed someone or some group to stand up and say No! No! No! Hey, there are weasels on both sides of the aisle, but the GOP weasels (who said nothing but “Yes!” during the mid 2,000’s) are the only opposition we have left.

For several wars now, military leaders (Not politicians posing as generals) have been concerned about limitations placed upon the ability of soldiers to fight. Even this latest surge into Marjah has been undermined by pre-announcements and confining rules of engagement. This is not new. In his most famous speech, General Douglas MacArthur after an impassioned and intellectual plea for global peace said: “But once war is forced upon us, there is no other alternative plan than to apply every available means to bring it to an end. War’s very object is victory, not prolonged indecision. In war there is no substitute for victory.”

The Question:

The MacArthur comments above came from a famous speech. What was the name of the speech and where was it given? And why?

Back to Stuff:
Every time I push the publish button for todaystids.com, the first thing I always see as it appears on my screen is one big fat typo.

The brand new Fort Hood shooting report is a Political Correctness cover up of the political correctness that was the root cause of the tragedy.

While you are looking out at the snow consider the words of Phil Jones, Director of U of East Anglia Climate Research Unit (CRU). He said on Sunday there has been no global warming for the past 15 years. He also allowed the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now. FYI: The CRU is the “record keeper for the globe’s temperature.” Well…there goes my plans for ocean front property!

"24"-um:
--There was a lot of plot building going on last night. --Is it me, or does Jack seem cooler than ever. --I still find the Dana segment intriguing, but it is time to tie it into the plot. --I always love it when somebody screws on their silencer. --The President has become and unfulfilling diversion. –We need some surprises in the President’s office. --This was definitely an episode that needed a second hour.

The Novel:

Through the Same Eyes: Chapter 55 continues. –“Kent, we don’t have time to be petty. I’m sure you agree.” “I don’t think there is ever time to be petty”, I answered thinking of Sarah/Maggie. Izzy smiled. “Let’s get ready for Wiley and crew.” I nodded and held up my hand. “Mrs. Durham”, I started, “ likes this company. While we have had this very casual relationship as two citizens of a small village trying to pitch in and help the Sherriff, I believe that Sarah Durham got to know me as an honest man who knew what he was doing.” I paused and smiled inwardly at what I just said. “Remember that her husband is also very knowledgeable about our business…” Izzy interrupted me. “Did you hire him before or after you met his wife?” I quickly responded.” We had a problem and he came in with a very good solution and I believe it was concurrent. Prior to his appointment as a supplier, his wife was a person I saw sitting in the room with the sheriff, me and a few townspeople. Basically, he is here because he and his company are the best and at exactly the right level technologically to help us in our race to development. ”So there is no conflict of interest in this process?” “No”, I countered. “Sarah Durham appears to be a brilliant financial person who takes an unemotional look at all deals. And…I know she loves and respects you.”

Back to Stuff Again:

0-Man tried to talk Bayh out of leaving. But Bayh, a good guy, said there was just too much partisanship to get anything done. He was particularly distraught at the actions of Harry Reid who cut the guts out of the compromise jobs bill. And the Republicans who ran and hid when the deficit reduction bill was brought to the floor. The good news for everybody is that this is another nail in the HR coffin. Maybe after the Daschle and Reid charades the Dems will get the message…No More Partisan Hacks. While I’m always for more Dems going down, I’m more for The US of A going up. And we need leadership to take us there. Right now we have nobody at the helm, and the winds are coming up.

It seems to me that the United States would be in a lot better shape if Lyndon Johnson had never been a Senator or President.

You may be hearing a lot from a guy named Dr. (Phd) John Drew, a college professor who knew Obama when. Drew tried to get out his story during the 2008 election but was quashed. According to Drew, in 1980 Obama was an avowed Marxist calling for the overthrow of the elite and the redistribution of wealth. Drew said that while at Occidental College he was a Marxist along with his girl friend and 0-Man at the time. Drew added that he saw the error of his ways has he got smarter. He converted to Republican in the mid 80’s. He added that many of Obama’s Marxist pals were incredibly wealthy and that 0-Man loved high living off of their crumbs. Among true Marxists of the day, 0-Man and his pals were known as “Sleazy” Marxists – loved the redistribution theory as long as it wasn’t there’s.

The best replacement of outgoing RI congressman Patrick Kennedy may be the grandson of Senate legend Claiborne Pell. Nick Pell may be just that kind of quality Americans are crying for. So far the other entrants into this wide open race are political hacks typified by a guy name Bill Lynch who is symbolic of a system that has devastated the once mighty RI economy. He appears to be exactly the kind of weasel that has America want to oust in November. Sounds like a name for a song: “Weasels in the Wings”.

Remember that loudmouth, arrogant Harvard Professor Gates who was justifiably arrested by the Cambridge police later called “Stupid” by the leader of the free world? Remember that “teachable Moment”? Well the little self centered professor has donated the handcuffs to the Smithsonian African History In US Section. How trivial is his miner inconvenience compared to the achievements marked by Rosa Park’s bus seat, the Woolworth luncheonette seats and other symbols of racial oppression.

The Answer:In his remarks during the “Old Soldiers never Die” speech before Congress, the General went on to say “History teaches us with unmistakable emphasis that appeasement but begets new and bloodier war…where appeasement had led to more than a sham peace.” “Like Blackmail, it (Appeasement) lays the basis for new and successively greater demands until, as in blackmail, violence becomes the only alternative.” He gave the speech before Congress as his farewell address after being relived of duty by HST. He saw his ability to carry out a war that could lead to victory being diminished.

The End:

Some day you wake up to realize that the secret of life is hanging around until you get used to it. That would be true if there weren’t any politicians.
