Laughing at antics.

Today's Tids Issue 4,219
For reason:

Michael Jordan donated $2,000,000 to the flood victims in North Carolina, his home state. Let’s hear it for MJ!

How come people who are slightly off are often deemed “going bananas” or being “plumb crazy”? Are there harmful qualities in fruit not publicly revealed? Did you ever hear anybody say, He’s completely Cheetos? No, you haven’t. Stay sane – dust your fingers orange.

The lawyer for the woman accusing Kavanaugh says one week to prepare for a hearing isn’t fair. She should be talking to Diane Feinstein about that bind, not the Repubs. It is quite obvious this is just the latest in a series of orchestrated steps designed to hopefully push this appointment beyond the mid-terms. The Dems are obviously using this woman as a part of their delays, and the more they issue imaginary roadblocks to process, the more her charges appear to lose their validity.

The Question:
Who own last year’s AGT?

Word of the day - Flummoxed: The synonyms for flummoxed are addled, baffled, befogged, befuddled, bewildered, confounded, confused, discombobulated, muddled, perplexed and puzzled. Sounds like the Rhode Island state Legislature to me.

Last night on the Final of America’s Got Talent I liked Shin Lim, Zurcaroh and acrobats Duo Transend. These three had me glued. Probably the disappointment of the evening for me was Michael Ketterer, a singer I have touted here. He didn’t seem to rise up last night. Several others did though including another singer I had dismissed in earlier weeks – Glennis Grace. Courtney Hadwin, a 14 year old, is an immense talent, but I am tiring of her a bit. I had a few smiles with comedian Vicki Bobolink, but not even a feeling of laughter with Samual J. Comroe. I wouldn’t pay to see either of them. Violinist Brian King Joseph is amazing, but I found myself bored last night, thinking I’ve seen, heard all this before. Maybe it is a one act thing. He is very good but… Operettic songster Daniel Emmit also fells short, to me. I am picking Shin Lim too win it. While I would be  also rooting for Zurcaroh and Duo, I wouldn’t be surprised to See Grace and Hadwin sneak in.

Democrats are obviously taking advantage of Repubs well known sense of fairness and deceny as they stumble along in obvious, often maniacal attempts to block the approval of a very capable Supreme Court candidate.

Tomorrow begins a potential very exciting four days. For the overall championship, odds maker “Golf Odds” has installed Bryson DeChambeau as a 2-1 favorite. Next is Justin Rose at 11-5 followed by  Tony Finau and Dustin Johnson at 6-1 and Justin Thomas at 8-1. “U-s-t-i-n seems to be the magical five letters here! After that, the next best odds are 40-1 – Rory McElroy and Jason Day. At 50-1 we have Webb Simpson, Francisco Molinari, Keeghan Bradley and Billy Horschel. Lastly, at 5000-1, we have Patton Kissire. Now the above are not the odds for winning at East lake, but only for the  year long trophy and $10 Million. The top five for winning the East Lake event are Rose, Johnson, McElroy, Thomas, and for #5, a tie between Woods and Koepka.

The Tids resident land use authority has taken issue with yesterday’s idea of mapping safe building areas in towns and villages. One issue he points out is that the taxing jurisdictions “Fight quite hard” against accurate flood maps (I was also including historic tornado areas and forest fire areas among others) which would lower property valuations and thus income to cities, towns and villages. (Note: Development of historic flood areas also lessens the potential for drainage as concrete replaces absorbing soils) So, a possible solution to lower the costs and human agony from disaster again goes by the wayside in favor of taxation and profit.

The Answer:
Now last year was a year to remember on AGT as the unbelievably pleasant 12 year old singing ventriloquist Darcy Lynn and her puppets was the overwhelming favorite.

The way I see it this week, it is healthier for all to rise above obvious antics and ploys, to find your sanity in the reasoned non-political world.
