Go fishing.

Today's Tids Issue 4,626
Find something new, you'll never be bored:

I’m still sittin’ here
In my Tids-Typin’ Chair.
Continually proceeding
To give you some reading
For when you are feeding
But not when your breeding!
I hope I’m succeeding.

C the Difference, Department:
Ovid – The “Last of the Latin Love Elegists”. Wrote “Ars Amatoria”, The Art of Love, as part of his “Metamorphoses”, his major work, highly regarded through the ages and considered to have been a significant Influence on Western Art and Literature.
Covid – Dirty, rotten, stinking, deadly disease capable of destroying a society; art and literature and all.

I heard that AOC was on the price Is Right”. She didn’t do too well. She thought everything cost 0.

All is really not that bad. Charlie Brown won a baseball game!

Even less relevant these days than weather reporters are Traffic reporters.

We have had an abundance of pretty nice weather. I think a lot of people are wishing that there was some big vault in the sky where we could stow them away for some time in the future when we can use them better.

The Question:
What Hall of Fame baseball player who in one game in three consecutive innings threw out runners at Home, Third and Second? Bonus: There are only two number that rhyme. What are they? There are only about 5 good words that rhyme with those two, What are they?.

The Headlines:
--Stocks Continue Healthy Rebound; Dow Ober 800K Midmorning; Small Business Optimism Sentiment Index Drops Significantly; Bears Still See Room For Downturns.
--California Returns 500 Ventilators To National Stockpile.

I had this nightmarish thought. What happens if the Government doesn’t need to spend all of that $2.3 Trillion emergency CV dollar fund? And new funding in the works in the House.  Will they give it back? I don’t think so. Politicians don’t give money back. It is not unlikely to consider that the wide eyed rabid left side of the Dem party would exert extreme pressure on Lala-Pelosi to spend it all on all of those much too expensive Liberal give-away programs. That is indeed how the Coronavirus could change the way America works forever.

And Bernie will re-ignite his now flagging campaign, saying, I can spend Covid dough better.

We have our first four suggestions for the “Covid Anti-Anxiety, Total Relaxation Playlist”. They are Jazz piano by the great Ahmad Jamal, Easy listening Michael Bublé, “Talking Heads” jumping Rick and one great oldie from the fifties you can hear at the end of today’s Tids. As you can see, this list could be comprised of multi-genre faves, Get your own favorites in today!!

Easily one of the largest sporting events in Rhode Island was held yesterday – opening day for trout fishing! The states wildlife authorities did a good job under difficult restrictions, and anxious anglers joined in to make it all quite Coronavirus safe. The fish didn’t join in on the accolades.

Did you hear about the guy who stood up his girlfriend after asking her to the gym? He was hoping she’d realize the two of them were not going to work out.

Well, they are saying that this virus likes cats better than dogs. So your cat may catch it, but your dog may spread it. That’s because people love to pet happy dogs with wagging tails, but who knows which sneeze-goo laden hand had patted the fur last? Be cautious.

Whether or not the glass coffin business takas off remains to be seen.

We have always had advanced foodies who could look askance at people not up to the moment with the trendiest edibles. It happens every year or so. I remember well back when people were happily eating Cantonese Chinese food and suddenly became ostracized when the fashionable began dipping their chopsticks into the hot Szechuan trend. Now Szechuan is just another couple of items on a Chinese Restaurant menu while the foodies are all galloping through the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and South America to tantalize their sensitive palates --  and USA artisan gardens.

Everything is being pushed to September which seems a long way off. But, without a vaccination or good therapeutic, will it really be any different than it is now? Really. And if the heat of summer is supposed to kill all those nasty germs, how come Florida and Arizona have cases? I think I’m sounding like a pessimist, and it doesn’t feel right. How can that be?

The Answer:
The two rhyming numbers are seven and eleven. East. They only rhyme with Heaven and Leaven and few names like Evan, Devin, Levin and Kevin. Bonus: One of my all-time favorite baseball players was Al Kaline, the Detroit Tiger super player. He died yesterday. He did all better than most, and he  was a wonderful person too.

Go back in time and escape today:
