Gratitude Attitude more than a Platitude.

Today's Tids Issue 5,042

More Gravy, Please:

T-h-a-n-k Y-o-u!!

Thats about it for today.

What more is there to say.

On life’s appreciation day.

For all the family things.

For all that love brings

Of smiles and laughs;

Being there when needed.

Congrats when you’ve succeeded

Hugs when down, or Grieving,

Life is about receiving,

But it swells when giving,

To all people living,

Spouses, parents, children;

A very special friend.

Yes, tomorrow is that day.

It’s a very good one.

The best people say,

When all is said and done.

I heard this morning that some people like Thanksgiving Dinner “Sides” in separate dishes so the gravy doesn’t run into them.  The only way I eat most sides is to have them smothered in gravy.

I have read that some of these Woke groups are saying we shouldn’t classify as “Looters” those marauding herds of criminals aggressively attacking retail shops and often the customers and clerks in them. How about if we call them uncivilized thugs instead. I’m thankful I haven’t lost my sense of reality.

One thing you can always say about cranberry sauce: It adds color to a plate on Thanksgiving Day.

The Question:

What are the most popular breads America? Ad where they come from.

New York City lawmakers are poised to pass a new bill called, “Our City, Our Vote”. The main objective of the bill is to permit 800,000 non-US Citizens to vote. The prospects of NYC becoming a communis nation are inevitable.

In case you are interested, this week there were a couple of College basketball games featuring the #1 and #2 teams. In woman’s B-Ball it was #2 UConn against #1 South Carolina, SC won by 16 points. On the men’s side, Gonzaga beat #2 UCLA by 20. Are both those #1’s unstoppable?

When the smog lifts in Loss Angeles, UCLA!

A BLM activist said yesterday that the parade catastrophe maybe the beginning of the big revolution. Say what?

I believe that lobsters would be a very apropos New England Thanksgiving dinner. With perhaps cornbread and clam stuffing. And squashes of all kinds. And maybe, Cape Cod Potato chips.

The University of Cincinnati Football team moved up to 4th Place in the NCAA championship series ranking. That is quite historical. Non-Big Five trams have never had that chance to prove themselves no matter ow good they appeared to be on the field. The fans deserve to see the rankings achieved by the play on the field, and not from inside a computer brain. This will be fun to watch, if you are a college football fan.

Sometimes Spell-Check is just plain stupid. That’s why I’ll ever have a self-driving car. You just don’t know when a good algorithm is going to have a stupid moment.

I thought that Dad and s Sasha would be knocked out of The Voice east night, But, they actually had one of their better moments in the challenge save event. Next Monday we get to judge the Top 10 (At Lasts). I’d say that tee favorites now are Girl Named Tom, Paris Winningham, Wendy Moten and just perhaps Mia Haily, who seems to be developing a fan base. Wendy is technically a very good singer, but she just seems to go through the motions, without eye “E”. For emotion you got to keep watching Joshua Vacante. He also has a shot of making the top five in two weeks. And, maybe even country Singer Lana Scott. Country voters have a way of surprising you.

I just saw line up for a speaker series with one of the featured talks about future energy sources. It showed a picture of a windmill. I don’t know about you, but photos of windmills and solar panels covering acres of land and sea just doesn’t say efficient new world to me. Today we get excited about more stuff crammed to tinier packages, yet exclaimed energy theories could consume the entire earth. The wind and the sun just says Kumbaya to me.

The Tid’s Pickers are a day early. We had a bit of a comeback last week going 12-3 to bring us to 110-56-1 (66.4%). Tomorrow tradigital kicks off Week 12 with three traditional T-Day games – da Bears at Detroit, The Raiders at the Cowboys and Bills at Saints. Oddly, no matter how good or bad Detroit is playing, they always show up for Turkey Day. But I’m picking Chi in a good tussle. Dallas has declined since their pretty strong season opening run. Las Vegas has not really been the same since Gruden was drummed out of the NFL. I’m picking Dallas, but I’m not sure. This is an important game for Buffalo who is all of a sudden looking over their shoulder at New England, who they play next week. New Orleans is sketchy, but I have lost confidence in the Bills. I’m picking the Saints.

The best key games Sunday are TB against a revived Indy and a now competitive NE team against a Tennessee team that doesn’t always show up. All of the AFC North teas this week are battling each other, and every team is still in it for the Division title – Cinn versus Pitt and Cleve versus Balt. These should be two really good important games, but maybe not as good as the wars between Minn and San Fran and Green Bay and LA Rams here goes nothing: I’m picking TB (Gronk is back), New England who is putting it together, Cincy, Baltimore, San Fran and Green Bay. All of those picks could go the other way. They are that close in the new, near parity NFL.

Of the rest, I got Houston over the Jets, Eagles over the Giants, Miami over Carolina, Atlanta over Jacksonville (??), LA Chargers over Denver, and on Monday night, the surprising Skins over the Seahawks. So that is it.

Today is National Juke Box Day. Remember a dime a song.

The Answer:

#10 is from Florida – Cuban Bread. The next is from West Virginia and it is pepperoni bread. Johnnycake is from Rhode Island and Hoagie rolls (Or facsimiles by another name are all over America). Frybread is fattening and delicious from South Dakota. Then there is Texas Toast. Sourdough Bread is a California favorite. The top three are New York City Bagels, USA Cornbread and at #1 – Banana Bread. Couldn’t they have stopped at #2? Aren’t biscuits bread? Hey, what about Biscuits! Some other breads down the list are Amish Friendship, Boston Brown, English Muffins, Graham Bread, Bulkie Roll. Arizona Cheese Crisp, Parker House Rolls, Anadama Bread, Piki Bread, Scali Bread and Pueblo Bread. No mention of French, Italian or Portuguese breads. But then they are not American. Or Wonder. Or cinema swirl. Or Jewish rye? I’ve got to find better lists.

When I read today was National Jukebox Day my mind rapidly retreated to 1949 and Teresa Brewer signing Music, Music, Music – a super hit song of the day

Have rollicking, gourmand day tomorrow everybody and give a lot of thanks for everything.
