It ain’t nothin’ if it don’t got the passion.

Today's Tids Issue 3,440
Opening Stuff:

Doing things well and loving things intensely are often at the opposite ends of life’s goals and accomplishments. Passion for life and love are often set aside by needs for practicality. But somewhere in everyone’s body there is always something special in there waiting to get out and be great. A yearning that turns into passion. Special talents often set aside in a compromise to sharing and growing. Everybody has it there somewhere, and when you can get it out, you will be free. Don’t divorce yourself from your passion; Don’t rejoice in just doing thing easily. Reach inside and grab it.

Nothing is real anymore. One reason cannot bear watching those afternoon TV talk shows is the maniacal applauding audience who seem to rapturously condone drivel. Of course it is all lead by a producer cheerleader. Well folks, programmed glee and passion is not just for female oriented TV talk shows or political rallies, but now sports. In Pittsburgh Wednesday, fans were handed an enthusiasm guide that actually scripted fan reaction and cheering inning by inning basis, and at times, even batter by batter…out by out. And even more. Disgusting! You have to pay enormous prices and you can’t even be yourself.

Reality shows aren’t even real. Many of them, to me, look like carnival side shows.

Let’s stand up and give a couple of great birthday people a rousing Tids Hurrah!

In response to yesterday’s Tids Headline about oceans seeming less wide. North Korea announced this morning that they can now reach the USA west coast with A-Bomb carrying missiles. Duck and cover.

The Question:
What? Not yet again today another “Double Q” Tids! Zowie! 1. What was the name of Scott Bakula’s breakthrough TV role? 2. Name five Steve McQueen (The Actor) movies.

The Headlines:
--Europe Stock Market Has 6th Consecutive Up Day; New Unemployment Benefit Requests Drop; S&P Could End Day With Biggest Weekly Gain In 2015.
--Fed Report Sees Only1.74% Growth In Year Ahead; Far Lower Than Politician Promises of 4.0%
--Obama To Bypass Congress And Impose Gun Background Checks.
--“O” Admin To End Syria Rebel Training.
--Overnight campus Shooting Has 1 Dead, 3 Injured At Northern Arizona U.

--National Dialogue Quartet Of Tunis Wins Noble Peace Prize.
--Sunken Freighter Faro Said To Have Been “Rust Bucket”; Should Not Have Sailed Into Hurricane.

I think President Obama is building a resume for a post-President job as a Middle East Dictator.

That “Rust Bucket” story about El Faro seems like a plant from a lawyer looking for a law suit basis. God, am I an eternal skeptic, or what?

The Hill is turning on her “Victim”, Right Wing Conspiracy” strategy. All it is doing is pushing Repubs and investigators to find more emails about her role in the Benghazi slaughter. I guess she is not a “Buck stops here” Democrat.

Is this the year that Saturday Night Live gets back to being funny?

Our RI governor looks more like the most powerful union boss in the state than a concerned visionary for all.

Keep your eye on an emerging story where US Officials are finding it hard to implement the Obama Treaty with Iran without breaking federal Statutes. Yikes! Here’s the weird part. The “Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action”, JCPOA. That’s the formal name of the Iran Nuke Deal and it has a clause that permits US Subcontractors to deal with Iran – Which just so happens to be in direct conflict with ITRA, Iran Threat Reductions and Syria Human Rights Act… Signed in 2012 By guess who. Yes it was Barack, and it barred subcontractors. It is confusing, But then, we are dealing with the Federal government. Stay tuned.

If everybody was entirely honest we wouldn’t need a big government with regulations, or for that matter, lawyers.

The Parking Lot: Chapter 20 continues…
Nancy was beginning to look like the most amazing person Jared ever met. She constantly surprised him with her vision, preparedness and ability to accomplish just about anything. Right now her goal was to save her life, and Jared hoped His and Beth’s too.
She had checked the bodies and assured Jared that they were indeed dead. She smiled a lot when commending him on his excellent marksmanship. Jared just said “Aw shucks” and Beth who was now back on earth, blew him a friendly kiss and tapped her heart. She methodically combed her home handing Beth or Jared carefully selected items, all seemingly well organized in their proper place. Each of the two had small wheelbarrows, which were soon filled with everything from life necessities to food, to electronic stuff to weapons. The three of them quickly stowed the sustenance for their future into the boat next to the blue, now rather large drop cloths. “Jared, go down and get the canoe and tie to the stern of the boat.” She ran off shouting, “And don’t forget the paddles!”
She then ran off, first to the little shed where laid out three cans of gasoline, and then to selected trees surrounding her home where she checked and adjusted small cameras.
When returning she didn’t have that look so familiar to Jared’s own, that she might have forgotten something. She knew she hadn’t. “Are you ready to be hermits?” She laughed as she smoothly jumped over the transom and took a position at the controls.

Reading Between the Lines Movie Reviews:
--99 Homes looks like it could be really interesting. It’s well acted an beautifully paced. It focuses on the sleaze that brought us the housing depression of 2007/08. It’s about a hardworking guy wo can’t make ends week in the recession economy. He and his family is saved by the real estate shark who though him into the street. Hired by the unctuous one, the young man starts making big money by throwing his neighbors out of their homes. The movie explores hi guilt versus the nedd to have is family survioce.
--The Prevailing Opinion on the new Peter Pan movie is, “Don’t waste your money or time. The worst of all Peter Pan’sYou know the story.
--Steve Jobs, the movie is very good. Great character study.

The Answer:
1. Scott Bakula became a household name with is role as Sam Becket in the TV series Quantum Leap. He was nominated for our Emmys mad won one. He also won a Golden Globe for the role. He had big roles on Star Trek and now as the lead in NCIS New Orleans. He was also in “Chuck” one of my favorite all time programs. 2. Another super matinee idol was Steve McQueen who charged many a heart during his 1960’s=70’s run at the top before his death. He was the “King of cool” and was hailed for The Sand Pebbles, The Blob, The Thomas Crown Affair, Bullitt, The Getaway, Papillon, The Magnificent Seven, The Towering Inferno and, of course, The Great Escape. His accomplishments may have been even more historic if you look at all of the roles he turned down over the years.

Sorry about the passionate preaching. But, I feel it. It’s about following your dreams. Sometimes giving to others come first, before you get to walk in them.

Have a passionate Weekend E-v-e-r-b-o-d-y!
