“…and the Bombast in air…”

Today's Tids Issue 3,909
For Independence:

How will we ever get to the middle when the pomposity and grandiloquence is so severe and mostly, entirely not credible. O say can you see, any future for we. Will the flag still be there, when less of us care. Can we rid ourselves of politics and just get back to being people…in this home of the brave?

Have you heard that the NGA, National Governors Association, is having its annual Summer Meeting here in RI? Or, is that National Gas Association? I wonder. Yup, they say a record amount of state leaders are here to see the magnificent wonders of the smallest state. And that includes 19 Republican governors. That number, at least for four days, doubles the size of the Republican base in the state! But, I’m surprised that Union Boss and RI Senate President didn’t issue a “Stop Scott Walker at the Border” Amendment to the new Budget.

The News Media is all over the breakaway iceberg. I would be more concerned if a large chunk of the moon dislodged and was hurtling towards earth.

The various demons controlling my computer always inform me that they are ready to install updates exactly at the time I’m beginning to ponder my daily morning mess.  Then I feel guilty ignoring them all the while I’m typing the various and sundry musings. Why is that? I guess annoyance is better than a virus or malware.

The Question:
Name the top four companies in PC Sales.

The Dallas Cowboys have been named by Forbes Magazine as the Most Valuable Sports Team. The NY Ya…Ya…Ya…(WYKWIM)..are number two. The next three are international soccer teams Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid, who round out the top 5. New England Patriots are #6 followed by the woeful NY Knicks, equally disastrous SF Niners, bottom of the heap LA Lakers and the Redskins. The next five, including ties, are LA Rams, On life support NY Jets, Bayern Munich, da Bears and the mighty Boston Red Sox. This proves once again, it doesn’t matter how you play the game, but how well you sell your broadcast rights to TV.

RI, based on the way they vote, is the bluest of the blue states, but now-a-days 53% of the people here are registered as independents.

Is that because they are embarrassed to be associated with the people running the state?

“Zoo” and the new “Survival” could have been pretty good TV series if it wasn’t for the director and actors…and writers, who must have given up their integrity to the first two and the producer.

I know that lots of people hate Trump, partly because he beat their darling The Hill, and partly because of his morals and character. But, some of the Dem Bombast destroys their own credibility.

Scott Walker is probably wondering how a place so pretty could be so blue.

There seems recently to be an epidemic of female teachers having relations with students. Is this part of a new anything goes, American culture? All my teachers were nuns.

Vin Scully won the “Icon” award at the ESPY’s last night. I remember his first broadcasts after joining Red Barber and Connie Desmond in the Brooklyn Dodgers Ebbits Field broadcast booth. I thought he sucked. Just shows you what longevity in Lala Land can do for you. Actually, he was probably pretty good, but I don’t remember ever being impressed.

The Answer:
According to Gartner Principle, HP with 20% moved into first place replacing Lenovo (19.9%). HP is number three and then comes Apple’s Mac now at #4 after knocking out Asus. Number six is Acer. Another reporting service, IDC, was a little more positive overall. IDC had it HP, Lenovo, Dell and Apple.

America looks ready to fly up its own asshole. It seems to me that the guiding influences these days are based on political revenge.  The concentric circles of returning the hate for returning the hate are getting smaller and tighter, and pretty soon there will be but one, last dark place to go. Maybe everybody should become an independent. The parties are the problem. O say can you see by dawn’s early light, a flag ever waving beyond partisan fights.
