Coping.

Today's Tids Issue 4,939

I'll get by with a little smile:

Don’t you think it is interesting that as the days grow shorter now we can expect a more bountiful harvest of the goodies of the earth. Good productivity is in direct proportion to the distance away from extremes. I think there is an idea in there for civilization.

I made an error this morning. I mistakenly mixed Diet Pepsi with Diet Coke. Yes, I do drink those filthy elixirs as I type the Tids. I know many of you who eat well will find it abhorrent, that these daily words of wisdom come from lips of poison. But, what if the mixture tastes good? I may have a gold mine -- perfect get-ready-for-the-day drink, “CoPe”!  Yes, “Refresh your day the inspirational way.” CoPe will get you through irrationality in a tasty way.

My girlfriend says she can’t cope with delivering any more babies. I think it is just a midwife crisis.

The Question:

The Thomas B. Fordham Institute and it’s panel of non-partisan experts ranked all the states’ education systems on the teaching of US History and Civics. Name the five states/jurisdictions considered “Exemplary”. Name ten of the twenty states that were rated “Inadequate”.

The Headlines:

--Miami Officials Coping With The Immensity Of The Building Collapse Tragedy; Death Toll D Rises To Four; Heartbreaking Search for Bodies Continues.

--Markets Opens In Positive Territory; Infrastructure Agreement Buoys Economic Confidence; PCE (Personal Consumer Expenditures) Rises At Fastest Rate Since 1992.

--R Eric Holder Signals He’s Open To Voter ID; Pence Says He’s Proud Of Role In Certifying 2020 Election.

—Panasonic Sells Stake in Tesla For $3.6 Billion; Bitcoin Rises As El Salvador Is Set To Make It Legal Tender By September 7.

--Conservative Ex-Police Officer Eric Adams Closer To Wining Dem Nomination To Face Repub Curtis Sliwa (Guardian Angels Creator) For NYC Mayor.

Hey, CoPe doesn’t taste too bad at all! In fact it is a nice happy medium. CoPe, the drink for moderates who can go either way.  “CoPe”. The perfect ay to start your day. Anda better way to finish it.

Coping with multiple personality disorder is easy. I've always been more of a people person.

Just think, if Coke and Pepsi can get together for the mutual good of all, then anything is possible in this partisan world.

The really good news is that we are just about one short month away from fresh local corn on the cob. Life is full of riches.

Last night the Boston Red Sox lost a game on a Strike Out RBI! Weird as it gets.

I think there is a great cartoon watching El Salvador remote farm workers sitting in there minimalist homes trying to figure out how to use Bitcoin to buy three goats and a sow.

Did you see where the Supreme Court said it was Ok for a 14-year-old foulmouthed lass to spew her venom as long as it was off campus. And they are right. The ban should come from peers and associates who would not encourage her proclivity towards profanity.

Whenever I do crown molding I can never get the corners to match up quite right. I guess I have coping issues.

Today, the question: “Is America a racist country?”…leaves little or no room for nuance. To borrow and old expression, there is no allowable black or white answer to this in these times of public extortion.

The building collapse in Miami is a tragedy. The pain and suffering of Meghan and Harry is not.

This issue of your favorite morning mess is a good example of how on those days when you have nothing to say, you Cope.

The Answer:

The five states/jurisdictions that were considered exemplary may surprise you. They were Alabama, California, Massachusetts, Tennessee ad DC. On the minus side my RI had an “F” in US History and a “D” in Civics. Oter states in that same “Inadequate” category were Maine, NH, Vermont, Conn, Penn, Del, Wash, Mont, ND, Oreg, ID, WY, Nev, Col, Neb, Iowa, Illinois, Wisc, and the only southern state, North Carolina.

I was on the phone to my Grandma the other day and we were discussing how my Grandpa was getting on in the nursing home. I said, "How is he coping, getting on all right?".She replied, "Oh, no, he's like a fish out of water..." So I said, "Aww is he finding it quite hard to adjust? She replied, "No, he's dead."

Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!

…And, C-O-P-E!
