You can’t keep a Gemini Down.

Today's Tids Issue 4918

June, a Moon, Spoon..Sun in the morning, Tune.

Do you know what I love to sing every year around now? “You can see it in the trees. You can smell it in the breeze. Look around! Look around! Look around! June is busting' out all over. And they’re ain’t contrary anymore, because it’s June; because it’s June, June, June. It’s a happy month, and the feeling it emanates just seems to express the Joy of a brighter sun, the longest day and kids getting out of school. Brides pick to begin their new lives. It’s full of happy-go-lucky gentle souls called Geminis. And of course, the month of the greatest heroes of human history, those who stormed the beaches at Normandy on D-day. Yet with all of its happiness and energy, it is also in June when the days begin to get shorter n that long march to winter. Which actually makes me smile a bit, because I like Winter. So, I love June for a lot of reasons, and because people seem a little less crochety.

I never realized how g important BJ Thomas was as a Pop singer until I read his obit on Sunday. Sometimes things pass you by and you bever know it until you are too old to enjoy it.

The Question:

Name five of BJ Thomas’s greatest hits. Bonus. Who was first asked to sing the Burt Bachrach song in Burch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid?

The Headlines:

--Stocks Rise; S&P Heading To Record High. Inflation Fears In Limbo For Now; May Jobs Report Due Out At the end of This Week.

--British Pound At 3Year High.

--Chili’s Going Whole Hog Into Chicken Sandwich Wars; Crows That Their Fowl Sandwiches Will Change The Pecking Order Among Restaurants.

--Texas Dems Revolt Against Repubs Led Voting Fairness Bill.

--Peru Moves Up To Take Global Lead As Having Worst Covid Death Rate.

--Anti-Netanyahu Coalition Taking Shape; Yair Lapid And Naftali Bennett Seem To Be Agreeing On Sharing PM Job; Netty Forces Rallying.

One of the things that passed me by as I was out there in the big wild world playing junior executive, was seeing Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid. Everybody on earth has seen that one but me. I’m thinking.

People seem to be more confident of Viagra maker Pfizer’s ability to produce a good vaccine, “If they can raise the dead, they can save the living.

Mayim Bialik in her debut last night as Jeopardy’s Latest Guest host looks like a winner to me.

Have you noticed that lately people who like the goodness in the history of the USA are under assault.

NYT’s and Wapo have now shown openly what any rational thinking person knew as true: They were incredibly biased against Trump to the point of not full filling their roll las independent truth arbiter. NYT’s admitted that they didn’t buy the Wuhan Lab theory of Covid roots simply because it was espoused by DT. This is a terrible thing in that it erodes people’s confidence in all Journalism. And whether or not you like media, we need a good, honest, fair and accurate watchdog of government activities more than ever.

Some people are advocating that Politicians wear sponsor logos on their clothes like Nascar Drivers and Golfers.

This Tids looks short, but it will feel long because of the song at the end. Enjoy it anyhow.

The Answer:

Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head launched him. Other big hits were Hooked on a Feeling, Mama, I Just Can’t Help Believing, I Don’t Have a Mind of My Own, Hey Won’t You Play Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song, Don’t Worry Baby, I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry, Rock and Roll Lullaby, Billy and Sue, Most of All, That’s What Friends Are For and I Can’t Help It, I’m Still in Love with You. Bonus: Bachrach First Asked Ray Stevens to sing raindrops. He said no. Bad Career move.

Just because it’s June, June, June! Anybody want to dance?
