No escape.

Today's Tids Issue 5,339

There are just some things that never change:

Technology may be cluttering our minds with whiz-bang options, but a kiss is still a kiss.

I don’t like a restaurant where I need to bring a dictionary to understand what I am ordering.

Should a guy with no life get a cost-of-living increase?

Jamie Dimon just came out to say America’s greatest [problem is the unstoppable debt accumulation. Reducing debt, slowing unfettered spending is one of the major objectives of the Anti-McCarthy Bloc.

BTW, Dimon also calls Crypto Currency a “Decentralized Ponzi Scheme” and likens Crypto Tokens to Pet Rocks.

The Question:

According to Billboard, what are the ten all-time greatest love songs. I should have saved this for Feb 14!.

The Headlines:

--Markets Higher Awaiting Predicted Slower Inflation Data and Bank Q4 Reports at Weeks End.

--Wells Fargo To reduce Mortgage Lending As Hnme sales slow.

--National Airline Computer Problems Shut Down Airlines for a Few Hours This Morning; Over 4,000 Flights Postponed; There Is No Evidence of Cyberattack.

--UK and Virgin Embarrassed After Yesterday's Satellite Launch Failure.

--Nobody wins Mega Millions; Jackpot up to $1.35 Billion.

--New Torrents Rock Cal; Roads Become Rivers.

Things I don’t understand: BB&B has predicted a miserable lower than low financial and revenue projection status and is on the verge of extinction with a very real possibility of bankruptcy, yet the stock has gone through the roof now three days in a row,

People seem to wait on buying lottery tickets until the jackpots are +/- a billion. I’d be real happy with 25 million.

Huggy Bear, Department:

Whoops! I missed one of the greats on the list of all-time winningest NCAA men‘s basketball coaches. It was Bob Huggins who only happens to be Number 3, almost tied with number two Jim B. after Coach K. Huggins who always has West Virginia challenging could eb the only guy among current coaches who could pass the Duke icon. Boeheim will retire and Huggins will have a clear path to #1. If the dreaded Transfer portal doesn’t do him in first.

When artificial Intelligence finally takes over, will it be able to better sort out the lies from the truth than humans?

I watched the first few minutes of the Golden Globes on my way out to another room to watch FBI. Has there ever been a more tedious opening monologue? From what I read this morning; it didn’t get better. It is things like the Golden Globes that remind me why America is in trouble.

One of the more troublesome things about last night’s GG was the onslaught of hate messaging against the piano player who was just following the producers' requests to nudge along eth speechifiers. She got up and left. The woman, Chloe Flower, was thrilled to have been chosen for the gig to have her piano playing set a pleasant mood. Yet, she had to feel the rath of social media hate mongers. Is anybody safe in this new techno-vitriolic world?

Around these old cities in the East, they are spending a lot of money building bike lanes... which necessarily take up a part of a once navigable though narrow roads. Now as slowdowns increase and idling cars spew, is this good for an environment, considering that there really aren’t many bikers at all. And how about entitled pedestrians who will make one car stop and spew instead of waving them through. Where did common sense go?

The Answer:

It is an impossible task to find a good list. I read over five lists and problem number one is that “All-Time:” seems to begin in the 1960’s. So, here are some that have the most repeats on lists. Endless Love, I’ll Always Love You, How Deep is Your Love, Unchained Melody, Everything I do, First Time Ever I saw Your Face, Best of My Love, My Heart Will Go On, At Last, The Powr of Love and I Want to Know What Love Is. Tomorrow I'll look in the fifties and forties and earlier. i know some of the most romantic songs were written then.

Sometimes we all become over manipulated by change. Yet everything important in life stays the same. I think Louis Armstrong say sit well in “As Time Goes By.” It’s more than just a love song from Casablanca. It is about the essence of life,
