The signs are there.

Today's Tids Issue 5,348

Leave it in your car:

Did you know that there have been 36 mass shootings so far this year in the USA. That says something about the mental fitness of our people or maybe more so about the loosening of higher standards of our culture. Why is it suddenly, it seems, that humans have so little respect for other human lives.

Some music makes you happy.

Some music makes you angry

Some music makes you dance,

Some music makes you look the fool.

And some music can make you feel how beautiful being in love can be.

And then, there are people who are oblivious to music. And that’ss sad.

The Washington insider analyst community see the Repubs in a unique position to take back the Senate in 2 years. But it is in real jeopardy to lose the house in 24. In the senate it’s all a mathematical matter of the advantage Repubs have up for grabs. It is all there for the taking if Trump doesn’t pick the candidates.

The big war, Department:
In case you missed it, Microsoft is fo going all out to beat Google and Salesforce and all companies in between in the race for AI domination. They announced billions in spending today. The multi billions will be over multiple years concentrating mainly with their investment in OpenAI (One of the brilliant hot upstarts -- DALL-E and ChatGPT. If you think that new iterations of Microsoft software was confusing in the past wait for the next AI infused platforms. Your computer may be running you.

Reader saves the Tids with a Groan, Department:

A bakery had eight pies sitting on a shelf. One jumped off onto the floor. One by one, the others followed. They were lemming meringue pies.

The Question:

I came across this interesting football list for a Q – Who are the greatest defenders in NFL history?

The Headlines:

--All Markets Show Strength at Mid-Morning; Investors Seem Happier With Fed Moves.

--8 People Shot In Shreveport La Home; Montray Cal Shooter was 78-Year-Old Man.

--IRS Says It Will Emphasize Customer Service Over Audits.

Do you get the feeling that the Manning Brothers have jumped the Shark.

Finland must be a pretty nice place to live because it certainly inspired Sebelius to write magical music.

With the deadlock in Congress, it is pretty certain that Biden won’t be signing any new bills. But he has plenty of dough to spend during the next two years from the massive Infrastructure and Environment bills passed last year. He should be able to curry a lit of favors with Dem power brokers and keep himself alive for the next big one. Unless the Classified docs caper unravels.

And then there is some “music” that doesn't deserve to be called music.

Scientists are a bit puzzled by a new discovery of a snow phenomenon on Saturne's moon. The good news is that if Climate change cancels winter here in northern ski mountain, there is a nice place out there just a few light years away. The Universe is an amazing thing full of new frontiers.

The Tech stocks are a little on the move upward, but it is mainly because they are getting their workforce numbers in line with reality. The latest to tickle the investors heart is Sprotify

The messy part of the Biden ckassif8ed doc caper is more likely the fall out that may come from an investigation. It has been shown in the past that many of the investigations of public officials don’t necessarily find substantive info of the initial subject but locate something considerably more insidious in the course of the investigation. One of the better examples of that is the investigation of Benghazi only to learn of Hillary's personal use of a computer for government work. And thousands of files of notes to “Grandchildren”.

Biden has a pretty nice-looking waterfront home, which is pretty god for guy who has been has been nothing but a civil servant since 1970 when he became a member of the Castle County Delaware council, and  thena US Senator in 1973. My family always said go into the private sector if to want to make money.

BTW, the Governor of RI just gave members of his staff, including himself, 11+% raises. I guess he hasn’t heard the inflation message yet

The TidsPickers whet 4-0 over the past playoff weekend and are now 9-1 on the way to the Superbowl. Next week will be interesting. We will be back to TidsPicking later in the week. Right now, the big cog in the analysis machine is Mahomes’ ankle.

I believe Littering is a great example of people's lack of consideration for others. And it seems worse than ever. We have gotten way too loose in our society, in my estimation. “Everything and anything goes” is not a great idea. Btw, plastic bags aren’t the problem. Littering them is.

Reading between the lines movie reviews, Department:

I like the idea of Missing”, and I have it on my list. It is a Techno-Thriller that will keep you guessing. A mom disappears and the daughter is unhappy with the reaction of the police and FBI. She goes on a mission to track her down using the apps on her phone. It is well done and loved by audiences and critics together. How odd!

The Answer:

Number one I Lawrence Taylor (Saturday while watching the NY Giants get crushed, he said he was ready to put on his pads again.) Note also that LT wa s one the reasons that Belichick has been deemed a defensive genius. Number 2 is Reggie White followed by Ed Reed, Deacon Jones, Troy Palomalu, Deion Sanders, Joe Green, Charles Woodson and #10, Ray Lewis. I'll take you to 25. Nest are Bruce Smith, Ronnie Lott, Dick Butkus, Dick Lane, Rod Woodson, Aaron Donald, Jack Lambert, Brian Urlacker, Champ Baily, Mike Singletary, Derrick Thomas, Ray Nitschke, Alan Page and #25 Brian Daw kins. Two members of the Fox NFL broadcast team, Howie Long and Michael Strahan are 29 and 31. The great two-way  playng Eagle Chuck Bednarik, who dominated the NFL championship in 1960, is 56th. It’s actually a pretty good list.

Well, time to run, Happy Monday E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y.
