God Bless Our Founding Fathers.

Today's Tids Issue 4,945

Sweet land of liberty is not for diabetics:

Happy Traffic Jam Weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y. 46 million of us will be going somewhere. I’ll be Going to Stop & Shop for a Diet Pepsi sale.

President James Garfield was shot by your basic madman in the Washington DC railroad station 140 years ago today. Nobody ever remembers James A. Garfield. He is the Charlie Brown of Presidents.

Rick O’Shea: An Irishman bouncing off the walls.

I love the American flag.

I love what it for which it stands,

For liberty and freedom and opportunity.

And for responsibility.

I love back yard picnics and burgers and dogs and potato salad.

I love the fireworks that make me feel the power and glory of this land of ours.

I love to look at all the people wide-eyed standing neath the glittering sky, just getting along, unified.

I love the Fourth of July.

Actually, I don’t love potato salad that much.

The Question:

In 1937, Fred Noonan went missing while flying. Who was with him?

I got a questionnaire asking if I was dedicated in turning of lights and appliances to help save the environment. No, I turn them off to save money and keep the house from burning down. It has nothing to do with the environment. But the answers will be reported publicly and the headlines will say, “77% of Americans are Dedicated to help save the environment, when most do it because it is expensive to keep them on. That is one problem with a lot of surveys – not enough answer options, and that tends to produce biased results.

June 2021 was the second hottest June ever after June 1943. I can’t say that I actually remember that.

Today is National “I Forgot” Day. Yikes! All we need now is to create National “I Made a Mistake” Day and we cover all of those celebs and Pols forced to apologize for being caught doing something illegal.

Maybe National “I forgot” Day is for husbands who had not listened in the first place.

75% of Americans now see crime as the biggest problem. ABC News says it is at a 20 year high. Blacks are most concerned about crime, says the report.

JB and his admin just published their “Ethnicity, Racial, Gender in Hiring Report”. It is 56% women, which means men were underemployed in the admin. But, that’s Ok, because men don’t like men sniffing their hair. BTW, how do they know they have 56% women in this era of They, Them, The and It?

I adopted a dog formerly with a blacksmith. As soon as I got it home it made a bolt for the door.

How many other’s?, Department:

“Last fall Concrete Restoration workers at Champlain Towers found such extensive concrete deterioration and corrosion of reinforcement that some of the repair work couldn't be performed for fear it might affect the stability of nearby areas.” And… “Full restoration and repair work ‘could not be performed’ because the pool ‘was to remain in service for the duration of the work’ and because the necessary aggressive excavation of concrete at the pool ‘could affect the stability of the remaining adjacent concrete constructions." So many people could see the deterioration. Today beneath the 2-3 story high pile of rubble, there are probably 145 bodies of those who may never be found. It is sad. How do we prevent the sadness in the future?

I quit my job at the helium factory today. I will not be spoken to in that tone of voice!

The Answer:

Fred Noonan was with Amelia Ehrhart when that lonely plane mysteriously vanished form the face of the earth.

Happy Fourth: Preserving Democracy:

In a new Monmouth Poll, reported in Microsoft News, 80& % of Americans Want a voter ID requirement – Repubs – 91%, Indies – 87%, Dems) – 62%. 71% say they want to make voting easier.

I never felt that voting was hard, especially considering how little effort it took in comparison to the immensity of the results of the action: Preserving democracy, Freedom. America.

Happy Red, White And Blue…and Bam!, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
