Half way to peacefulness:
Listening to news from Washington DC is heartbreaking. A lot of people I come across daily seem sadly concerned about the direction of the country. The general atmosphere feels grey. I’m a happy guy basically. I seriously believe in happiness. I hate to start a weekend with a bummer sentence. But, that’s what I’m hearing, and that’s the way it feels. How can you be happy unless you deal with the truth? So that’s from all the great people who don’t make the front pages. But they will find a way to deal with it, and that makes everybody happy.

If that first paragraph reads a little foggy, I had a serious coffee issue this morning. My old bag ran out, but I knew for sure I had just bought a backup. I always do. But after ten minutes ransacking the kitchen in my pre coffee amorphous state, it was nowhere to be found. I could have run down the street to a café and bought a cup that would cost close to that of can or bag on sale. That would have bothered me even more! Yikes. What a world we live in.
President Joe suggested that states come up with $100 bucks to give citizens as an inducement to be vaccinated. So, that’s about it for America, huh. They won’t live up to basic personal responsibility unles they get something for it. Is this like the “Trophy’s For All” mentality that is now coming to fruition in general society? We are doomed.
Today is national Cheesecake Day. That makes sense.

By the way if I’m not mistaken, school children cannot go to public schools unless they are vaccinated for a host of diseases like measles and polio and more. So, why is Covid different? (Aside from the fact that it hasn’t been approved for younger children.)
I really like that new KIA Logo a lot. I think it transforms the design of the car. Oh wait, they have also transformed the design of some of their products. A new SUV looks quite rugged, similar to Ford’s new Bronco.

In a small survey, three Jeopardy guest hosts, LaVar Burton, Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik, are pretty much tied for the lead as favorites with combined 62% of the votes. Another three, Buzzy Cohen, Paul Richards and Aaron Rogers accounted or 23%. So, you can see the others are way behind with 7 sharing 15%. But I noticed a serious oddity. In a separate question to the same audience it was asked, “Should LeVar Burton be named permanent 'Jeopardy' host?”, 55% said “No”. 34% said yes. So that’s it for now on that subject.
The Mega Cap Teish were a little less scintillating. Apple and Microsoft did well Bu the rest missed, and shook the investor community a bit. that’s the problem with techs, when they disappoint, they really disappoint.
Reading between the Lines Movie Reviews:
--Jungle Cruise has that feel of Romancing the Stone, and maybe even a little of the great African Queen. People who have seen it like it quite a bit, The Critics don’t which just makes it that more appealing. Lily, a sophisticated research doctor hires a questionable Amazon River guide with a ramshackle but lovable boat. Like the African Queen and Romancing the Stone, these two antagonists set out on an adventurous trip seeking a magic medical cure, fighting between themselves and against the harsh elements. Will be fun and light to watch. I would.
--I’m intrigued by Enemies of the State which follows the entanglements of a average America family caught in the web of espionage and corporate secrets all wrought by their hacker son. Pretty sure I will attempt to see this one
--Stillwater has a father rescuing his daughter, somewhat like “Taken” but isn’t quite there. Matt Damon is good as an out of work oilrig Roughneck in Marseille looking for evidence to free his daughter in jail for an Amanda Knox style alleged killing. Pretty good but film is a little slow moving. Probably worth seeing

Number One is Casablanca, that iconic film of films. It is followed by Gone With The Wind, West Side Story, Titanic, Shakespeare in Love, An Officer and a Gentleman, An Affair to Remember, City Lights, My Fair Lady and Out of Africa. #11 is The African Queen, followed by Moulin Rouge, Wuthering Heights, Ghost, Romeo & Juliette, The Notebook, Breakfast at Tiffay’s, Pretty Woman, When Harry Met Sally, and #20, Dirty Dancing.
