Frivolity can be fun.

Today's Tids Issue 5,210

How vast is vast:

Today is National Eat Your Jell-O Day. Or, if you are feeling frisky, dive into it! Why not?

I’m getting a feeling from what I see and read that between now and election day we will be seeing a lot of give-away law passed and outlandish promises made that are all about something-for-nothing programs. Is that any way ot to run a town, a state a country? I won’t be voting for any of those scoundrels. Give me a leader for a change.

Water levels in the West will continue to grow lower and lower mainly because there are too many people moving there want to grow stuff that doesn’t naturally grow there so it will look like where they came from in the East. That’s a bit of an exaggeration, and the climate maybe changing, but the basic fact is that there are too many people drawing on too little water.

Buck is coming! And that is not an opening tune for Oklahoma. Buck is the name of July's super moon and if you have chance, get out there in the night and suck in that natural magic. It will fill your heart with awesomeness.

Leopards are bad at playing hide and seek because they are always spotted.

The Question:

This week starts one of TV’s favorite summer series -- “Shark Week”. Americans are fascinated and America tunes in. Name ten types of sharks starting with most dangerous.

The Headlines:

--Housing Boom Fading As Interest Rates Climb; Today’s Market Activity Looks Murky, Though Higher At Midmorning; Pepsi Beats Revenue And Profit Projections And Raises Outlook For Rest Of 2022

--Ukraine Launches Attack On Russian Arms Depot.

--Thousands Gather In Tokyo To Say Goodbye To Abe.

--US Drone Kills ISIS Chief.

--Jan 6 Panel reconvenes; To Focus On Right Wing Groups.

--Pro “Bernie” Group, “Roots Action” Forms Urging Biden Not To Run For Prez in 2024; It Will Officially Launch The “Don’t Run Joe” Campaign The Day After November Elections.

--French Parliament Looking Into Macron Dealings With Uber After Big Data Leak.

--It’s Official: India Will Pass China In Population Next Year.

Isn’t this Jan 6 panel reminiscent of the McCarthy hearings which focused on left wing nefarious groups? Which, by the way, are still subtlety and not so subtlety subverting the USA.

I see where Andrew Benintendi and Mookie Betts are Outfielders n the All-Star game. How come the Red Sox can’t get players like that?

I was going to write about why anybody would ever vote for an old man Like Bernie Sanders. Then I looked up his age and found he was just a kid next to me. Maybe I won’t run for prez after all.

The more I read about reparations, the more it looks like plain old extortion to me.

The news was all abuzz last evening showing pics from the Webb telescope. But frankly they just sat there as far as I was concerned. What were they of. Why should I be watching. Maybe the anchor should do a little digging for the good of viewers. A picture like that is not worth a thousand words. It just needs a few hundred words.

There were a few more words form BBC today saying that we have new Webb views this morning from far away galaxies showing light from 13 billion years ago. Now, that is a bit mindboggling. It tells me that all of our gravest concerns are a mere instants in vastness..

An analysis of what it takes to bring alternative energy up to Petro based energy levels shows that it will take more mining of materials than all of the oil and coal exploration to provide what is necessary to build solar panels, windmill blades and batteries plus necessary accessories. The sun and the wind are up there for the taking, but the taking takes stuff made of minerals and metals for the conversion. Pure and simple. It is physics. Alternative sources account for less than 10% now.

Shark’s favorite two words: “Man Overboard”.

The Answer:

The Ten deadliest sharks, starting with #10, are the Hammerhead Shark, Sand Tiger Shark, Blue Shark, Shortfin Mako Shark, Blacktip Shark, Nurse Shark, Oceanic Whitetip Shark and Tiger Shark at number 3. The two deadliest and most aggressive sharks are the Bull Shark and of course at #1, the infamous shark of lore, the Great White Shark.

Sometimes when writing Tids, I bite off more than I can chew. Whoops!
