Where is safe.

Today's Tids Issue 5,208

God Bless the World:

I don’t care what you say.

There just can't be any other way.

That after dogs, mustards and Mayos,

And last weekend's general Chaos.

We all need a comforting hiatus

Without the bustle and fuss.

This one, that's all about love.

Of blue birds and sweet turtle doves.

Not directed by calendar events.

But by our own romantic sense.

So journey where your heart takes you

Let all those special feelings imbue.

Japan's Ade who was gunned down last night was quite the world leader. Yet these days no matter how exalted or protected, you are just another potential victim to ten current madness. I think I’ll catch covid so I can stay in my room.

Hey, we had a great job creation report. Maybe that will signal a soft-landing as far as recession threats go. But, and it's always the big but... Wall Street doesn’t like t because they feel it will keep the interest rates a coming.

Today's National Be A Kid Again Day. I’m in. I can’t think of anything adult for the Tids today. Kids=Tids sounds just about right to me.

The Questions:

What are rated as the most walkable cities in America?

The Headlines:

--Japan's Former Conservative PM Shot Down By Mad Man In Naro Japan; World Leaders Laud Unifier Abe; 67-Year-Old Ex Leader Was Japan’s Longest Serving PM; Gun Used by Shooter Was Homemade.

--Markets Lower; New Jobs Creation Report Beats Estimates.

--Wisconsin Supreme Court Disallows Absentee Ballot Drop Boxes.

--Biden Signs Exec Order On To Protect Access To Abortion.

Covid must be like listening to New Age music all afternoon. No energy.

Why is Wall Street always so surprised about the news that they have already anticipated or have heard hundreds of times before? Because worry and angst create volatile markets and money can be made in fluctuations. I don’t mind that when fluctuations skew higher.

Only a handful of days til the start of NFL training camps. Institutions across the country are unzipping straitjackets and releasing all those football fans committed there just after Super Bowl Sunday. It's hard on the average NFL fan to feign excitement over soccer and skiing and synchronized swimming. But the tough ones endure, and the weak ones get help. And in mere days they will all be be brothers and sisters again united under the NFL mystique.. Just 10 days from now we will see Buffalo and Las Vegas rookies tiptoeing into camp. Between July 18 and July 21 all camps will start humming. The Hall of Fame Game is August 4th. Just in case you MLB team is already in a hopeless position.

All of a sudden China is looking like the good guy compared to India. Or at least that’s what China says.

Once my dog ate all the Scrabble tiles. For days he kept leaving little messages around the house.

Large yacht owners spend more on gas for a season than most people make in a lifetime.

I watched a couple of the Law & Order shows last night and it was hard. While the acting and direction and some of the plots are pretty good, the shows bias against the successful people and conservatives is just way to blatant to be considered entertainment.

Everybody is telling me we should go to see Top Gun 2. We will.

The Answer:

The most walkable city in America IS NYC. #2 Is San Fran just before Berkeley Ca at 3. #4 is Cambridge Mass. There is a tie at #5 between Boston and Jersey City. Seattle is number 7. To round out the top ten, we have a tie at #8 between Providence RI, Chicago, Philly, Long Beach Cal and Stamford CT. So, enjoy a good Urban walk someday. Just be sure oyu know who is following you.

I'm kind of mellow today. I‘ve been listening to Vangelis all afternoon. That makes it hard to get up on a soap box. And besides, I feel we had way too many fireworks last weekend. Seriously, I think yelling at each other isa really, really bad idea.

Have a great loving weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
