Rush to judgment, again.

Today's Tids Issue 5,372

Finding a place:

I often listen to a symphony just to enjoy one special, one-minute caressing moment. Life can be a little like that.

Mexican food would be decent if they weren't so infatuated with beans.

I saw one day last week where “Scientists” were surprised” about a new undiscovered galaxy which they said wasn’t supposed to be there. The next day I read that they were surprised at the size of a new planet next to a dwarf star. Everybody who quotes scientists says that Science is science. Hmmmm. No, science builds upon science. It is only finite to activists who grab and tweak it. If you get my continental drift.

Talk about changing “science”, the markets are today through the roof after last week's worst week of the year. Is it up because there is hope in their hearts or is there some substance behind it. The current dynamics are probably the result of the markets being too good in the first week in January that was supposed to be predictor of gray clouds ahead. And now they are making up for too much creative exuberance. Who knows? Scientists?

The Question:

What are considered the Best Comic Strips of All Time

The Headlines:

--Markets Open Strong, Hangs Tough Through Morning: Street Trying to Rebound from Worst Week of The Year.

--Breaking: Brexit Deal Details Agreed Upon, Ready to Close.

--SC T to Decide the Fate of Obama CFPB.

--Storms V Continue to Whip Across Nation.

Now they are going after Scott Adams, the brilliant creator of Dilbert. He made supposed anti-black statements like supporting what MLK always taught us about not judging by the color of the skin but the character of the person. The media was quick to convict him without a trial. Now, my Paper will probably follow suit because they are as weak as the rest, and we’ll lose Dilbert, which is one of the few decent things they still publish.

(Note: I Just got an informed email fROm a great and intelligent friend who knows East Palestine Ohio intimately and just happens to work within the dynamics of the DC area. He sent me quite the analysis and tells me there is a lot more to come out of this disaster, pelvically and environmentally, and it isn't pretty. More tomorrow.

There is the Chicken Pot Pie with Vegetables. And now-a-days we are seeing what is more like a vegetable pot pie with chicken. But for me, the only thing is the New England Chicken Pie with only chicken. And if you go to the right place, you get a pint of rich creamy chicken gravy to pour over it. Talk about Elysium.

Speaking of dangerous word play, the FDA just said white liguid made from cashews, Oats, soy and other make-believe substitutes is milk. Tell that to Elsie. Milk is milk.

Everybody is messing with words today and they aren’t all happy–go-lucky punsters. The worst to come may be mis-guided artificial intelligence demons. Think about this poor guy who responded to his wife who texted a selfie of her in her new dress. "Does this make my butt look big,” she asked. He w quickly and calmly texted back, “Noo”. Autocorrect changed to "Moo”. Call the hospital.

If you ever want to find a small quiet moment to elevate yourself to a place of calming, exhilarating introspection, listen to the Kyrie of the Requiem #9 by Maurice Durufle.

It was great day for Nascar’s Cup Series yesterday especially if you are a Chase Elliot fan, He started at pole position #33, last, and it was thrilling watching him make it all the way to second. I was worried he had lost something as he didn’t fare well at Daytona. Oh, Kyle Busch won after starting way back in #23. By the way, the Fontana track in Cl where they raced yesterday is a great for seeingt the race action. Really wide open. It was built by Roger Penske 20 years ago, and yesterday was the final race there ever.

The golf Tournament yesterday lacked the big stars, but that Niclaus course is always fun to watch challenge and humble the best in the business.

Talk about inflation! A national cookie chain just opened near here called Crumbl. One cvookie costs nearly $5.00 ($4.78) That’s one cookie. And by the way who created that name, Dan Quayle?

Do you know what site is beginning to annoy me... Newsbreak! They try to suck you in with rumors about things of which you may have been interested in in the past. It is data Science gone amok.

BTW, Newsbreak heads all of their notifications with “For you.” Any time you see “Just for you or for you” in an email or on your home page, run as fast as you can.

Men have two motivations: hunger and sex, and they can't tell them apart. If you see a gleam in his eyes, make him a sandwich.

Talk about excitement... it snowed a miniscule amount this weekend, the first white stuff of the year, and I ran down to the garage and got my snow shovel and had an absolute ball. The things you miss, the special little things that can be bought.

(Editor's Note: Most people will believe that I actually enjoyed shoveling snow but none of my friends will believe that I “ran” to the garage!)

The Answer:

Ok, first in this list is Calvin and Hobbs. How can you argue with that, Next is Dilbert followed by Peanuts, Garfield, Zits, Xkcd, Doonesbury, Pearls before Swine, The Far Side, Big Nate, Fox Trot, Pogo and Little Nemo in Slumberland. Another list has it C&H, Peanuts, Pearls, Dilbert, Foxtrot, Zits, Bloom County, Garfield, Baby Blues, For Better or For Worse, B.C., The Wizard of Id, Hagar the Horrible, Beetle Baily, Non Sequitur, Mother Goose and Grimm, Blonde (After all these Decades), Family Circus, Shoe, Dennis the Menace, Get Fuzzy, Mutts, Spider Man and at #25, Doonesbury. I don’t disagree with any of this, except I don't like Garfield. Nice to see “For Better or For Worse” in there.

There are some things in this new world selective honestly that just befuddle me continually. Let's hope Scott Adams doesn’t die the death misguided hysteria.

Have a wonderful week everybody
