New, better habits?

Today's Tids Issue 4.646
World without gravy, amen:

Great luck these days is finding on a grocery store shelf the very last item of something you really need. That will make smile for at least a day.

As you all know, Pi is an irrational number. All efforts so far to calm it down have failed.

The proverbial “They” are telling us to expect a new normal. They should be telling that to criminals who seem to be doing business as usual.

Our big local Warehouse store, BJ’s, is out of crunchy Cheetos. This Covid -19 thing is getting serious.

Only 223 shopping days til Christmas.

I had a little joke yesterday about, “with nothing to do, is it too early to put up a Christmas tree?”. I immediately received a note from a good friend who told me she had a friend who keeps her tree up all year and just redecorates for each season like New Year, V-Day, Easter, Spring et. al.

Based on the high death rate/M in Ireland, scientists have declared that good beer and pub merriment does not inhibit Coronavirus infections.

I think The Voice got it right last night. America saved Todd, Camm, Micah and Thunderstorm. The coaches saved Toneisha, Zan, Mecah and Allegra. I agree with all of those. The four person Sing-Off really came down to Johanna and Mandi Castillo. Johann got the vote and was saved, But I thought Mandi was slightly better. But, I like Johanna.

Rhode Island has another historic first. They can now boast that the first person in America being arrested for taking advantage often beleaguered by defrauding the Governments CARES Act for $500 K.

While looking at things at home, I noticed that RI, if not the leader is at least in the top 3 off States with the most people receiving unemployment paychecks. That tells me that RI must have the most non-essential businesses.

Year number two for decent Netflix Streaming series “Dead to Me” returns to us on Friday.  I think it will be better this year. I don’t know why I said that, but it may have been because in the first year they didn’t seem to know exactly where they were going, but the way it ended it holds promise that they figured it out.

A reader reminds me of the word “Sheeple”, referring to people these days under the heel of government dictatorial officials.

A diner askes his waiter at a restaurant how thy prepare their chicken. The waiter goes blank for a second, then says, “Nothing much really. We just tell them they’re going to die.”

Venezuela could explode if Russia and Cube allow is to happen.

The Answer:
These are four pretty easy questions. Roger Banister of England was first to break the 4 Minute Mile. It was huge world news on May 6 1954. Bonus: On May 29 in 1953, NZ’s Sir Edmund, along with Sherpa guide Tenzing Norgay was the first person to top Mount Everest. Today it is still very dangerous made more so by so many climbers dotting the narrow, frozen trails. Extra Bonus: EAMW is Queen Elizabeth II. Super Bonus: Ethan Hunt is the character played by Tom Cruise in all the Mission Impossible movies. Did you see where Cruise will shoot is next movie from inside the international space station? They say it will be intriguing but not another MI.

I’m worried about meat. Where will I put my rich creamy gravy? How will I make my rich creamy gravy? Certainly Not out of Broccoli.
