Breaking free.

Today's Tids Issue 4,879

Stay Loose:

This has been a long stretch of crazy good weather. What is Mother Nature going to do to us to get even?

This is the kind of day when your mind meanders.

Maybe you’re walking along sandy beaches.

Or maybe it’s just wherever your mind reaches.

To someone you knew.

A childhood memory delight?

Or wondering how you grew

To be an adult, and kind of turned out all right.

The mind I more wonderful than modern streaming,

Because you’re in control when you are dreaming.

I think maybe tomorrow the Markets will take some profits using the jobless claims number as the foil.

The Question:

When was the first successful TV transmitted image appearance in America, and who made it?

The Headlines:

--S&P Reaches All Time High; Techs Reinvigorated; Yields Steady; New Jobless Claims Up Again To 744K Versus expected 688K.

--Prez Unveils 8 Exec Actions Against Guns.

--M WVa Senator Manchin Reaffirms G his Commitment Not To Weaken Filibuster.

--Florida Gov De Santos Sues US Government To Allow Cruise Ships To Sail.

--Europe Covid Crisis Reemerges Due To Chaotic Vaccination Process.

--Myanmar Forces Continue To Kill Innocents.

The 10 percenters are talking again. That’s the investment community looking for a 10% stock market correction.

The employees of the Local Marijuana Dispensary center has “overwhelmingly voted to join a union”. Probably as a buffer to forestall being fired for getting high on the job.

Trumpers are gathering across the country, and they are serious about getting that agenda going again. And the more Joe B acts, the easier it is becoming for conservatives to join as conservatives again.

It maybe very hard to get a conviction on the expanded charges against Minn Policeman Derek Chauvin. Under pressure from marching groups the Prosecutor I upgraded charges from 3rd degree murder and 2nd degree murder by adding 2nd degree murder. It is unlikely, at least in a court of law where reasonable doubt still exists, that a conviction on the major charges can be won. So, basically this trial is about whether or not Minneapolis and other inner cities get burned to the ground this summer.

Traditionally, the downfall of once world dominant New England manufacturing companies was the incessant demands of the unions which grew to unacceptable over time. Will Pot dispensaries leave us High and dry like textiles and metalworking plants have done in the past? With unions, a plant is a plant is a plant. Or is it?

The new EPA Chief Michael Regan has removed 45 Scientists from the EPA’s “Science Advisory Board and Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee” as being too too friendly to business. Which proves once again that science is defined by who is paying the salaries. What a political morass Americans live in today.

The clerk at the little store who reported Floyd passing a counterfeit bill now says, if only I had never reported it.

Interesting that Blockbuster lost its entire empire quickly to companies how found a better way to distribute movies. One was Netflix which actually made its fame by inventing of all things a low-tech envelope. And then Netflix could have gone the way of Blockbuster as streaming became a better way to distribute movies. But Netflix was smart enough to see the future and fully understand the biz they were in – distribution – and move away from analogue to digital. Now of course, they are practically all digital and much more, and the largest streamer of them all. You don’t have to die with old technology just because it served you well for several generations. You just have to let go of things you think should never end.

Unions may force our educational system to move out of the state as citizens can no longer bear the cost. But no other state would want a system like ours.

The Answer:

In 1927, the image of then Secretary of Commerce Herbert Hoover was sent from Washington DC to New York City. It was through the facilities of AT&T’s Bell Laboratories, where business people and engineers had gathered for the event.

You can recede into the past or flow into the future. The future will always be there, but the past will warm your heart. I find it interesting to sit and ponder every once in a while. As long as you ponder positively.

Do you know what I’m thinking now? It’s time to get back to reality and get this mess out to you.

Thanks for listening.
