In politics, absurdity is not a handicap.

Today's Tids Issue 4,890

Harder to take serious:

What’s red and bad for your teeth?

A brick.

There area lot of scams being accepted at face value by the general media. Most prevalent is that voter ID is somehow racist and voter suppression. The great football Player Hershel Walker suggests that corporations instead of boycotting states and walking away should become the instruments for facilitating legal citizens obtaining IDs. Makes too much sense in non-sensical times? Not that they are really difficult to obtain, If political operatives can go bring mail ballots to homes of the un-functioning, how hard would it be to also bring an ID application form?  Yes, this idea of voter suppression is a total scam.

I have a lot of trouble believing that my wearing skin tight outfits would make my bicycle go faster. My legs can only turn at so much speed.

You know you are having a good mooning when the only sound you hear while reading the comics is your own LOL. I had a good one this morning. Check Out “Close to Home” for today.

The Question:

What are “Love Locks” and what bridge fell down because of them?

I entered what I ate today in my new fitness app, and it sent an ambulance to my house.

This morning it was announced that the Indy 500 will be run before 135,000 fans in attendance. Now some people will over react to that as being irresponsible in these Covid days. But they probably didn’t know that a full capacity at the Old Brickyard is 400,000. And only a portion of those people are in the stands.  Many are in the wide-open, sprawling infield. Knowing facts leads to understanding. Maybe even agreement.

I have always liked Peter Frampton, and especially his “Baby, I love your way”.

There seems to be a steady growth of code writing software. This basically means there will be fewer and fewer jobs for coders, some pretty techo-Savvy people. AI is great for many things, but not for the jobs markets.

You probably read this morning of the latest over hysterical tweet from none other than Labron James. It was basically inciting riots Ohio over the death of a teen girl wielding a knife. Rush to judgment is not the way a responsible society operates. Unfortunately, LJ is injured and doesn’t seem to have much to do except Overreact.

Oh, now I’m nervous that he as a new owner of My beloved Red Sox will turn our sports team into a social experiment.

Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which you die.

TV News broadcasts love police body cameras.

The people who say that the poor and certain racial and ethnic groups have trouble getting IDs are in essence insulting certain racial and ethnic groups as being brainless. But that’s what Libs do all the time, stand glaringly above as some kind of enlightened elite. Of course, it isn’t about kindness but about maintaining control.

I have an inferiority complex but it’s not a very good one.

Police to go to places because they are most often called by someone who sees potential criminal activity. So they show up only knowing that a criminal act is allegedly occurring. They are not going to birthday parties, four o’clock teas, first communions or Bar Mitzvas. They are going into unknown, potentially dangerous situations. My only complaint is why don’t they shoot at the knees.

The Answer:

The Idea of “Love Locks” is simple. A couple crosses a bridge and puts a padlock on a section of a railing structural element or even chain link fence. The lock represents their love, and it will stay there for all of eternity. They then dramatically hurl the keys to the lock into the body of water under the bridge, so the love will never be unlocked. Couples from all over the world have come to Paris and attached padlocks to the city’s Pont des Arts bridge, tossing the keys into the river Seine. The bridge partially collapsed under the weight of 45 tons of the locks. Officials have called for the removal of all locks on bridges for safety reasons, but that would mean all of that love vowed would be broken. The bureaucracy strikes again.

I can’t believe I forgot to go to the gym today. That’s 7 years in a row, now.
