Snowflakes glistening off bright petals.

Today's Tids Issue 4,891

Fifty is Fine:

I saw a few snow flurries yesterday, April 22. I liked them. But I couldn’t get anybody or anything to agree with me. Especially the flowers. Life is lonely on an island.

DC statehood immediately gives the Dems two senators. Which would probably be two extra Dems in the Senate for eternity. Actually, Virginia and Maryland should have first rights of refusal since they ceded their land for what was to become the federalized district for government purposes. So, if anything, VA ad Md should be suing congress for reneging on the original intended purpose. If it’s absurd, Congress must be involved.

If the DC thing would happen the next thing you will see is a protest to move away from the name Columbia because of you-know-who.

The Question:

I have always liked climbing flowering vines. Name your favorite Five.

The Oscars show up this Sunday, and what a mystery that will be, at least for people like me who are thinking, I never heard of these movies much less seen them. Why should I be interested? I probably won’t watch anyhow, I tika Nomadland is a lock for best pic its Chloe Zhao for best Director, but the film doesn’t interest me, Chadwick Boseman is supposed to be best male Actor. Fr the female actor I’m choosing Carey Mulligan because she is in the only movie that seems to interest me. The only question remaining is how far the ratings will fall.

Lala-Pelosi says DC should b a state because right now hey have Taxation without representation, to borrow a tried-and-true statement of rebellion. In RI, every Repub is being taxed without representation. The all Dem congressional delegation and the about 5% of Repubs in the general assembly assures that RI will barely listen to the smattering of Repubs, and all those who have hopes for am economy above and beyond public sector jobs. RI, “The Think Small” State.

Yesterday Joe B announced serious Capital Gains proposals. The market tanked. Usually, Democrat Presidents are good for the stock markets. Is Joe’s legacy going to be that of the Dem who gave the Stock Markets back to Repubs?

The Answer:

Personally, I think that Wisteria should be number one. It just has a poetic calmness to it. Then I would go with Clematis. The Dorothy Parker climbing roses is a great burst of color all summer long. But I don’t classify it as a vine. There are the Sweet Pea, Morning Glory, Star Jasmine, Mandevilla, Bougainvilla, Trumpet Honeysuckle, Moonflower, Nasturtium and Caroline Jasmine. And maybe another that is your own favorite.

Have a great Weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
