Good Friday and More.

Today's Tids Issue 4.875

More than Jelly Beans:

As long-time readers know, the Good Friday edition of The Tids is short, because the trek up to the hills of Golgotha baring a cross is long and arduous. And my words could never be as descriptive as the images in your minds. There are no questions today because we know the most significant answer is but two days away. There is no news that is more important than the death of one man, the Son of God. There are no puns because Good Friday isn’t funny. There are no words I could write more emotional than “It is finished.” “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit."

So today at the beginning of this most important weekend of the Christian calendar we await Sunday for the glorious rebirth and the seeds of human salvation. I have never yet found music that illustrates the power of this immense event so integral in the development of civilizations than the finale to Mahler’s 2nd Symphony, the resurrection.
